Cheap & Effective DIY Bulkhead Fittings for Your Pond

  • I wanted a clean look for my pond-no big, unsightly pipes going over the liner. So, I needed bulkhead fittings. And I needed big ones! A 3" bulkhead fitting was $50-70 on Amazon and even more from the local supply house, so I created my own instead. It's not as fancy as the expensive ones, but it works just as well.

    At first I was really concerned about the size of the "flange" of your DIY bulkhead. I'd want a nice big flange for such a critical component. But then when I saw your "No Stretch" liner my concerns diminished. Very glad you mentioned testing it first. I hope it works out for you. :-)

      Yeah, I should have clarified that the small flanges on this DIY setup are a bit less secure on a rubber liner. Of course, the purpose-built bulkheads I've seen also seem to have smaller flanges than I'd expect.
