I really do hope Nintendo really puts alot of development time into the next Animal Crossing title on the next Switch! I think New Horizons pretty much made the series a pillar of Nintendo now.
I genuinely think that the new AC game is gonna be a launch title or at least year one game for the switch 2. Or at least it's in nintendos best interest to do so. It's been more than 4 years since ACNH came out and we don't even have an official announcement for the switch 2 yet. I'm guessing the switch 2 will be released for holiday 2025. New horizons was so big and I know a ton of people who bought switches just for it so I would not be surprised if people were willing to get the switch 2 just for the next one. Especially if they add some more multi-player features and the switch 2 focuses on multi-player as it's gimmick it could be a huge thing.

I remember staying up until midnight on March 19th to March 20th when the game came out. I preordered it digitally and me, my sister, and our friend were SO hype. I even took the day off work that friday to have a 3 day weekend to play. Animal crossing was a HUGE part of my childhood and I’ve played every game in the series, it’s so special to me. Watching you play this is SO nostalgic to 4 years ago and how excited i was 😭. New Leaf is still the best one in the series IMO, I hope they come out with a remake for it on the switch like how all the Story of Seasons games are getting remakes 🫶

13:40 this specific music brings back so much nostalgia for me. This game was my first ever AC experience, it was the very beginning of the pandemic and this game was one of the only happy things going on at that time. I remember having no idea what was doing and I miss that. ❤
Oh, MG! Spring 2020 was so scary, we were going into an isolation and saying goodbyes to our friends and families for who knows how long, and getting used to be locked in the house with 2 kids, dog and husband (🤯), and homeschooling... that was a bless that just a few months before i got 3 switches and ACNH was launching just intime, 3 copies of ACNH for me and kids, and we were able to hide from the horrible real world into the most cutest world of the Animal Crossing. To me Animal Crossing New Horizon is not just a cute game, it is a safe place, a mental care place, bunch of cute silly new friends place, and bonding time with my kids place 😄 I think, I am ready to experience it all over again (minus lockdown). Though with no lockdown, there is not so much free time now. Will see.

I got hooked on ACNH a couple of months after everyone else. I didn't have a Switch and they were hard to find. My sister-in-law could tell I wasn't coping well with the panini, and she convinced my husband that I needed this game. He went to 2 different Targets and grabbed me a Switch Lite. I downloaded ACNH right away and became HOOKED. It was such a good way to keep in touch with friends and to make new friends, or catch up with people I hadn't talked to in years. And because I was late, a lot of people gave me things to get me started. It really was a magical time despite how scary things were. I eventually upgraded to the ACNH Switch when they allowed us to transfer saves. I still have my original island, almost 1000 hours. Sometimes I'm tempted to get a Switch Lite so I can start all over!

I literally just started my first ACNH on my switch that I got as a new gamer last year. I got it during cyber monday, for 30 bucks! WIN! Needless to say, I'm obsessed and have bought a home and paid off my loan in 24 hours got the museum upgraded and abut to build a shop! I love it here!
This is such an amazing video! Animal Crossing in 2020 was such a vibe, and learning new things about the game everyday was such a top tier feeling! I remember having such immense anxiety whenever I first named my island, I didn't realize the name I chose would get chosen and I thought I was gonna get stuck with Bill's suggestion of "Swoleville"
20th March 2020, was not just the release day of ACNH but also the day that my family and I moved out of the home I grew up in (for 22 years). I was super sad about that and we didn't have a new home yet, we stayed on a holiday home park for 3 months until we found a house (which was hell because of the lockdown; 3 people in the smallest home, everything closed, not knowing where you will live yet). Animal Crossing already meant a lot for me but this helped me COPE on multiple levels. I've been playing again this past week and arranged with my dad I will soon move my existing island to his switch, so I can start over on my OLED switch :D I live on the other side of the country from them now so I'll have to wait a bit.
I been playing for about a year or so and the other day I finally got KK Slider to perform on my island 😢 I crieddd while the credits rolled, I never thought I would get attached to a game.
Yesssss! I hope you do more of these videos. I can't stop returning to ACNH and the bug (pun intended) to start a new island has been so strong that I did the same this year (on a separate Switch). ACNH is like an old friend and always will be. I know it doesn't check every box for every player, but after hundreds of hours (actually thousands in my case 🙈), ACNH has more than earned its value in my house.

I actually just went back to my island for the first time in a year! I couldn't bring myself to restart, but I love being able to come back to it and not feel pressured to do everything constantly and just enjoy building mine out with my original vision.
I restarted my island last year and I’m watching old streams from 2020 while I play to sort of get that feeling from the 2020 release, basically body doubling for ACNH😂. If you make a playlist of you playing and doing this I WILL watch them constantly.

To answer your question about multiple islands, it's one island per Switch (additional profiles will be additional residents on the same island). If you use the same Nintendo Account on two Switches and both are digital copies, you can only play one at a time unless you have Airplane Mode enabled on one (but that would prevent multiplayer). I don't believe you can add yourself as a friend in that case either. If you have separate cartridges or one digital and one cartridge, you can play both simultaneously on different Switches. You might still have issues with adding yourself as a friend, so you'd need to have two different Nintendo Accounts. The good news is the Nintendo Switch Online Family plan is 🙌🏼, or you could use Local play to visit and send yourself items (if you choose to do so).

20th March 2020, was not just the release day of ACNH but also the day that my family and I moved out of the home I grew up in (for 22 years). I was super sad about that and we didn't have a new home yet, we stayed on a holiday home park for 3 months until we found a house (which was hell because of the lockdown; 3 people in the smallest home, everything closed, not knowing where you will live yet). Animal Crossing already meant a lot for me but this helped me COPE on multiple levels. I've been playing again this past week and arranged with my dad I will soon move my existing island to his switch, so I can start over on my OLED switch :D I live on the other side of the country from them now so I'll have to wait a bit.

Yesssss! I hope you do more of these videos. I can't stop returning to ACNH and the bug (pun intended) to start a new island has been so strong that I did the same this year (on a separate Switch). ACNH is like an old friend and always will be. I know it doesn't check every box for every player, but after hundreds of hours (actually thousands in my case 🙈), ACNH has more than earned its value in my house.
I haven’t wanted to star over in a while and especially cause I’m almost done with my museum but this video def makes me want to again 😅 and it makes me want to play it for real. No time travel or anything… gotta think on it a little bit

New Leaf but with the graphics of New Horizons would be awesome. I think it'd have to include the expanded inventory from New Horizons too. I don't know how I ever played the game with just those dozen or so inventory slots.

I actually just went back to my island for the first time in a year! I couldn't bring myself to restart, but I love being able to come back to it and not feel pressured to do everything constantly and just enjoy building mine out with my original vision.
This game got me through 2020! It was so needed! I miss the Discord community too
I restarted my island last year and I’m watching old streams from 2020 while I play to sort of get that feeling from the 2020 release, basically body doubling for ACNH😂. If you make a playlist of you playing and doing this I WILL watch them constantly.

I’ve just restarted my island from 2020 I think when it was out I got it straight away and I worked on it through the whole of lockdown, it was literally my whole lockdown life. And now I’ve restarted it so I’m gonna do it again and I feel so happy with it

To answer your question about multiple islands, it's one island per Switch (additional profiles will be additional residents on the same island). If you use the same Nintendo Account on two Switches and both are digital copies, you can only play one at a time unless you have Airplane Mode enabled on one (but that would prevent multiplayer). I don't believe you can add yourself as a friend in that case either.
If you have separate cartridges or one digital and one cartridge, you can play both simultaneously on different Switches. You might still have issues with adding yourself as a friend, so you'd need to have two different Nintendo Accounts. The good news is the Nintendo Switch Online Family plan is 🙌🏼, or you could use Local play to visit and send yourself items (if you choose to do so).

I just got a switch recently and this is the first gaming console I've ever had. I've been trying to decide what games to get and your excitement confirmed that I need to get Animal Crossing! I also got Stardew Valley but honestly it's a little hard for me as a newbie. I'm excited to play this game!

I restarted mine, named it Halloween Town (HalowenTwn) and got my favorite fruit Cherry, and my airport is my favorite color blue. Going to make it witch/magic themed.
