  • Unfortunately the “watchful waiting” period of my follicular lymphoma diagnosis has come to an end. I recently learned I needed to start treatment. In this video I’ll share what my first round entailed - physically, mentally and emotionally.

I was diagnosed with very aggressive prostate cancer out of nowhere. After deep meditation and reflection, I decided “how can this experience bring me to a better life”?
A complete change for the better, including reestablishing my daily Yoga practice, has reset my mind and readied me for my radiation therapy.
I will overcome and you will too!🙏🏽

I can relate to your experience. I have breast cancer. Like you, I'm at Scripps Torrey Pines. I've had 16 chemo infusion treatments overlooking beautiful Torrey Pines. It does help seeing that beautiful view. And the nurses are so nice, which also helps.
I was always worried about getting a fever, but I was lucky... didn't get one. Sorry you did! I also didn't get a horrible rash like you did. That looks just awful! Hope it gets better soon. What an experience!
I had a mastectomy last month. I'm still healing from that. I start radiation soon. I am also doing Immuno Therapy. That's the one that scares me most of all.
The whole thing has really slowed me down. I started out doing exercise classes, but I had to give those up. I just wasn't strong enough to handle it. I still walk a little every day, but not that much, particularly after surgery. It's just not what my body can do right now. It'll come back, just not right now.
I wish you all the best in your journey. You'll get through this! I found that the chemo wasn't that bad. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The Zofran and Compazine were life savers. Just listen to your body and be smart about it. Don't overdo it. There will be time to push yourself after your done with treatment. Be gentle with yourself and save your strength. Rest!
    All the best,
    Joan B, Shooters Karaoke Friend

Had clear cell endometrial cancers. Full hysterectomy. 6 months later came back vaginal. Plus tissue now. Had first chemo. Friggin nightmare. They give Benadryl plus pepcid. I was out for the 7 hours given chemo. 4 days later extreme weakness. Barely walk. Chemo hits the nerves big time. Pain. Bloated stomach . Bad pain. Constipated. Hurts to have food in my stomach. I eat half a cup of ramen soup to deal with constipation. Dry face. Itchy skin. Eyes hurt. Ear pressure. Headaches. Hands, feet hurt. No energy at all. But they got it in time. 4 more sessions

@@shirlburris-fg8eq I'm sorry you're going through this. Chemo is basically poison to kill cancer cells but it also does a number on good cells. So glad you caught it in time. Thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best. Hope it gets better.

I too started treatment for st. 3c endometrial cancer.
Had my 3rd chemo last week. Some days are rough, many are manageable. Had a hysterectomy Nov. 28th, 2023. I am 82 and I am grateful that there is
treatment and I have hope. We are here for each other.

You inspire so many people and this video is not only helpful for you, but helpful for the people I have sent it to that are going through some similar struggles right now. Are you covid jabbed? Huge spike in cancers since vaxx rollout. I was diagnosed with C mid-October 2022. I'm not jabbed and refused any conventional treatment (including surgery). Over a year on am I'm doing really well. I took part in a voluntary survey for the Qld Cancer Alliance (in Australia) and apparently I'm the only one who took an alternative approach, & the only one doing well... I think that speaks volumes about the C industry!!

You are getting exactly same meds I did for cll. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Ive been treated in 2018, 6 yrs ago. Now it seems it's back.
Bendamustine and rituxinab mild and effective. Mostly had headaches. You'll do fine. My hair only thinned out.

That's good to hear. Explains the headaches I'm having. My body definitely doesn't like one of these meds but seems to be tolerating it better this time around. Hope your treatments aren't too bad and that you have a long period before remission. Thanks for the information.

Love your videos, my husband about to get treatment for his FLL, was wondering why you didn’t get a port for all the treatments?

    • @TheDressUpMom
      @TheDressUpMom  2 місяці тому +1

Thank you. I hope things go well for him. They told me about the port but downplayed it since I have good veins. The little mini surgery to get it in freaked me out too. Now I’m wishing I considered it more. Today it took three tries to get a vein that worked. Lots of bruising after. The chemo is now starting to burn as it’s going through the veins. Hope the port helps your husband.
