Don't really understand the dislike. This is one of my favorite two player games. Would never trade/sell it. Love it!

Can you (as the Edison player) blow up an elephant in this game?

This review completely failed to mention a major mechanism that adds another layer of strategy: the stock actions. Without this aspect of the game, it reduces the depth significantly, and in 2 of the 3 games I’ve played so far (many more to come!) the stock actions I made in earlier phases had a large impact on how the overall game ended. And I completely disagree with Tom’s assessment of the character goals, since one of my games saw both characters reaching their goals in phase 3, and maintaining the criteria long enough to force region scoring. It is very much a viable mechanism.
This game is actually one of the more clever duel type games I’ve ever played, and the simple (as Tom said, “streamlined”) mechanics belie an overall depth of strategy that is surprising coming from such a relatively small box. I’m a fan.

I think blocking chips only block cities, not shares.

Maybe if at the first round, 5 cards are drafted, but only 3 played.

Yep, my husband Kickstarted the game, and we felt exactly the same as you. Boring drafting phase, tedious tug-of war, "I take a token, you take a token," "I play a card, you play a card." No tension, interest, or fun at all.

Wow, that's two awful games with the same theme and by the same company. Didn't they learn their lesson with the big one?

This game is not just boring but woefully historically inaccurate and a really weird attempt to use someone else's achievements/life for personal gain. I glad that's not working in this case. I get the idea that the "creator" didn't really care about the War of the Currents or Dr. Tesla. They probably think Wardenclyfe is some suburban project on the outskirts of Boise. Don't try to make games out of people (Tesla) whose lives actually *mattered,* game industry. You suck at it. :3

"attempt to use someone else's achievements/life for personal gain"
Pretty fitting for a game about Edison. XD

Actually it would be if this game reflected Edison's tendency to set land speed records getting to the patent office at closing with a fifth of whatever his friend who worked there wanted. Or reflected the lengths that he would go to in order to "prove" a technology was dangerous. (i.e. competitive in any way with his "own.") He's not even responsible for his most famous invention (the light bulb) actually working! It was his lab assistant that figured out the filament problem. A game that reflected the actual history (not sure how well "Edison the drunken, pet killing, thieving, lab burning, stinking jerk!" would sell) might be compelling, but god this isn't it.

If you are not that person or their estate, you should be able to *sue* anyone who uses your name for personal gain. No company should be allowed to "reinterpret" an *actual life.* Why is that so hard to understand? How undereducated do you have to freakin' *be* to not see the immediate and lasting detriment that is to education as a whole?

Not to reinforce my point but what name were you called? If you're an educator and somehow detected a personal insult when there was none then yeah, I'm a Chinese jet pilot too. If you *are* an educator and actually believe that "introducing topics even with *mistakes and misrepresentations"* isn't an issue, then you're a big part of a problem that helps explain the lack of education we currently have. This is why we have a local initiative to start *testing* so called "teachers." You want that tenure? *Earn it.* What you are saying, translated is: "I don't care if you teach them wrong, just teach them." This is a direct quote from you: "Which is build of actual lives?" Yet *You're* a teacher?? I hope to god you don't teach writing! (Or anything actually because it *is* important that what you teach is *accurate.)* P.S. *DUH!!!!!*

You *seriously* just typed: "what I meant is that anything that can lead to curiosity in the student, to them wanting to learn something, even if because they met with something that's a misrepresentation is beneficial." Jebus H. Christ!! That's not even a sentence! What the hell does that even mean?? "To close out the conversation??" God I hope to hell so, and I *swear* (obviously) if you *are* a teacher, which I *can't* believe because while the standards are low, they're not *that* low!! Yet if you are, whoever you are teaching for is in it *deep!* You attack my use of "You're" (when it's not wrong, what is wrong is *any* attempt you make at using simple English.) yet *don't* know sentaces are *capitalized* there, *"teach?"* I would have to look very far and wide to find that much concentrated stupid and I live in the *States!* However you are right about one thing, I do lose an argument. The one where I said god doesn't waste carbon, because here you are! Holy $&*#!!
