Listen to Cain's Offering, it's a band that Jani Liimatainen formed with Timo Kotipelto after Jani left Sonata. They released a new album this year. My favorite song from that album is I Will Build You A Rome
Good. Remember seeing them in 2000, on tour with Stratovarius and Rhapsody. What a fantastic night that was. Had just bought the first album, most of the crowd didnt know who they where.
La mejor banda de metal que escuche Len mi vida me encanta como tocany la voz de Tonny la mejor increíble las letras son lomas grande que hay genios de la música lo mas
I like both new and old Sonata, but man do I sometimes miss this time and lineup and with Jani and Marko and only 100% pure power metal, no weird experimental stuff. Still a fan of the band though. :-)
Reckoning night had the boy who wanted to be a real puppet. That's not experimental? Also Unia still had Jani and Marko and it's still pretty experimental.
Tony Kakko has got this rare talent, his voice sounds perfect on lives too, sometimes even better than the CD's! Beautiful, I hope I can travel sometime to see you live :)
I saw this great show very carefully and every time I am surprised more the vocal quality of Tony and also wanted to say that the musicians are really excellent ... Congratulations one and a million times is like being in that concert applause for all :)
Elias is a great guitarist so not trying to take anything away from him, but this is unquestionably how SA was meant to be. The chemistry is unreal here
@@Collapsion I cannot agree. In my opinion Elias is technically way better, very confident, and almost never makes mistakes. I would still like to have Jani back.
I get back to SA every now and then. I wish I could have been in that concert. Still a huge fan of their earlier production (Ecliptica, Successor, Silence, Winterheart's Guild and Reckoning Night). This line-up was my absolute favorite. I haven't really gotten into their music after Reckoning Night, but try to catch up ... Still I get back to this older stuff. This concert seem to have been just amazing!!
@tidiz Give Unia a shot. I, personally, really like it! And it's the last album of Sonata Arctica I really like along with those before it. There is a shift in Unia, but not to the point where it feels like a whole new band, (what it feels like to me past Unia). Otherwise, I pick and choose their newer songs which I find good. Personal favorite being Deathaura To sum up, I appreciate the Unia album because it feels like the last "hurrah" of old Sonata Artica.
thank you so much for showing us this somewhat rare footage! xD i'm such a big sonata fan and i thought i'd seen all their live videos until i saw this. :)
The first Tavastia gig I ever visited. I had just turned 20. Yes I'm old now :) that feels like not so long ago. Anyway, that was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Sonata Arctica at its best with Liimatainen and some experience under their belts, but also before their material and line-up went south. Unia was still ok, though.
3 year old comment, but Unia was when a real shift could be seen. For me, not a bad shift within the album itself. Afterwards is when the shift went too far, and in my opinion, made a band wholly different. I've grown to like it very much because of that, as I feel it is the last "hurrah" of old Sonata Arctica.
tony and jani could rule the world with metal by their talents but jani lost the role controlling tony's move and so on he left and let tony do whatever he want
On our album Silence we had this song called The End of This Chapter and it was a bit like murder...well, it wasn't a ballad, but somewhat insane relationship drama...story, and now as we... As we were making Silence I wrote this...I had this idea for Don't Say A Word. It wasn't ready for a release on any album at that point. There were no words or anything made yet. As we began to make this album I dug it out of naphthalene. Don't Say A Word works as a sequel for The End of This Chapter. It's either a sequel or a prequel, I haven't made my mind about that. Actually people can make their own decision about it. I'm the last person to tell what is happening on our songs. Many times...for example I have explained Broken to Henkka and I think I might have ruined it completely for him because he had created huge story behind it based on the lyrics. I explained what was my thinking in it and he said: Don't ever explain to me again.
Well, there's this Caleb saga (four songs in different albums), conformed by Caleb, The End Of This Chapter, Don't Say a Word and Juliet. Look for the lyrics and you'll never listen to those songs like before ♥
This an easy video bootleg you could download searching in san google, nowadays you find most of sonata arctica video bootlegs on youtube xD I have a lot of them :D
Old Sonata/Nightwish are the best
The nostalgia, man! Takes me back to a better time
Tony sings so clean in this concert... This is the Sonata I love...
Setlist:

31:48 Don't Say A Word

Shamandalie gives me butterflies 🥰🥰🥰
Tony was an absolute beast in this era.
The good old days. I miss the days of Jani and power metal.
Listen to Cain's Offering, it's a band that Jani Liimatainen formed with Timo Kotipelto after Jani left Sonata. They released a new album this year. My favorite song from that album is I Will Build You A Rome
Amazing live performance: perfect sound and energy. Miss this Sonata, miss Jani :( good times!

I like both new and old Sonata, but man do I sometimes miss this time and lineup and with Jani and Marko and only 100% pure power metal, no weird experimental stuff. Still a fan of the band though. :-)
I never cared about line up. As long as the music sounds good I'm fine
Reckoning night had the boy who wanted to be a real puppet. That's not experimental? Also Unia still had Jani and Marko and it's still pretty experimental.

Bass sounds amazing.

Power metal was their best sound. I don't think they are over, but sure miss this energy
They just played 8th Commandment at Wacken 2017, and their Setlist for their Ninth Hour Tour included both Misplaed and APBE
@@DorimiPrism yeah but new song are for old people. :(
@@lynx666 disagreed (except talviyö)
Elias is a great guitarist so not trying to take anything away from him, but this is unquestionably how SA was meant to be. The chemistry is unreal here
Elias is very sloppy compared to Jani. It sounds horrible when Elias tries to play the solo from Don't Say a Word.
@@Collapsion I cannot agree. In my opinion Elias is technically way better, very confident, and almost never makes mistakes. I would still like to have Jani back.
Yes Tony was a beast back then but I think what is really missing from current Sonata's live performances is the back-vocals!
In a few days Sonata will be playing in my city. Oh how I wish they play at least 5 songs from Jani era.
The true Sonata -true power metal and a GREAT lineup :o
Power metal.... Sonata is the Band I listen before bedtime....
This live video sounds even better than the fricking recording, omg it sounds so awesome! :)

Perfecto! El bajo suena con madres🤘🏻, se extraña esa fuerza en su música
super super beast sonata.

this is epic. Love SA. Always gotta support such talented guys
This is the list of what I understood from their speaking:
- Silence
- USA
- Tavastiaaaaa
thank you so much for showing us this somewhat rare footage! xD i'm such a big sonata fan and i thought i'd seen all their live videos until i saw this. :)
Lifegoal : to learn Finnish
to understand Nightwish, Beast in Black, Battle beast, Sonata Arctica:D
wow. of ALL live material i've ever seen from SA, THIS is by far the best!... O_O
I still prefer the "For the sake of revenge" DVD, but this one comes right after on my list haha....Tony's vocals were insane o.o
i dont think the sound quality is very good on for the sake. but yeah tonys vocal work is just amazing here. oO
=)

Buena banda
Increible!! no sabía de la existencia de este concierto!
Melhor show da banda que já assisti.
Best show Sonata 🇧🇷
JANI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS SO RED!
If you want to hear stuff that is even better than this and everything is composed by Jani, check out the band Cain's Offering!
tony and jani could rule the world with metal by their talents but jani lost the role controlling tony's move and so on he left and let tony do whatever he want
Without Jani in the band they're not the same... i was a huge fan of them with this amazing line up!!
they should really bring back jani and go back to their old style.....
Wait, how does this awesomeness have only 24 views?
At 28:28, Yeah, I heard it too. I read it on his lips as well. It's really fun to watch Sonata live, they tease each other on stage all the time.
We are not worthy...... We are not worthy..........🤘🐺🤘
Sonata Arctica is top❤️❤️❤️
2001-2005 best years of power metal
bravoo ...
What is he saying about Silence and Don't Say a Word? Or is he just talking about it being a sequel to End of this Chapter?

Albatrossi Ooh thank you! That's very interesting actually. So Don't Say a Word was first composed around the Silence era? That's so surprising.
Well, there's this Caleb saga (four songs in different albums), conformed by Caleb, The End Of This Chapter, Don't Say a Word and Juliet. Look for the lyrics and you'll never listen to those songs like before ♥
shmaie lt Dont forget Till death do us apart! From their last algum, that song (Confirmed by Tony) is part of Caleb's Saga
Sure! I didn't know by then.
thanks for the upload.
Brilliant
And so beautiful :)
