Man Celebrimbor's death is heartbreaking to remember again... Thanks Mellon for this Tense moment in Arda after I get back from my Holiday, Until Hopes for War of the Rohirrim...Marion Baggins Out!!! I better soon start rereading where I can for this Movie!!!
“The time of the elves is over.” Probably the most industrious region of the elves. Makes me think what else they would have made had it not been destroyed. Would have loved to have seen the charge of the dwarves coming to their aid. An army of beards and shouts would have been amazing
In its way, Tolkien's work is a metaphor for the Fall of Western Civilization that he saw die on the Somme (when 20,000 British soldiers were killed in 20 minutes). Kingdoms and nations never seem to fade away in Tolkien's universe. They always end catastrophically: either quickly (Gondolin) or lingering (Arnor and the successor realms). But they all fall.
Tom Shippley referred to him as having traumatic experience and putting it into lotr. Hard not to see that with all the wars in Middle earth, Dagorland, the battle of unnumbered tears, battle of sudden flame, wights. Lots of death and ruin in lotr. Osgiliath, Minas Ithil, Númenor ETC
Celebrimbror's death in the the"Shadow of Mordor/War" flashbacks was disturbing AF. Sauron, instead of using his magic powers, literally smashed the elf's head with a hammer like a sociopath serial killer. Imagine dying in that way...
ROP promised the greatest battle scene of all time for the attack on Eregion. Instead we got one of the dumbest battle scenes of all time - "let's knock down a mountain with our trebuchets to block the river and walk across the suddenly perfectly dry riverbed to attack the city! yay! and hey, just where did those fifteen or twenty thousand Elven horsemen disappear to anyway?". I swear, every person involved with writing, directing, or producing that show should be put in prison for what they've done to Tolkien.
@@TheRealCaptainLavender I watched season one - shame on them I watched season two (in the vain hope it might have gotten better after all the excoriating criticism of season one) - shame on me Never again!
No no no Yoisten, Galadridumbass went to war inside Eregion and took the Nine from an alive Celebrimbor and ran away, only to run back and try to bang- I mean ugly bumb- no wrong again..I mean fight and slay, yeah there we go, The Dark Lord after he cried because he's not Sauron he's just misunderstood and then she falls like Wile E coyote from a cliff and walks it off with a limp! this is obvious sarcasm, this is a very interesting and amazing video and I apprechiate Yoisten's hard work! May the Valar Protect you, Men of the West!
The Elves would never recover from the War of the Elves and Sauron; just before it began marked the high point of Elven power and culture in the 2nd Age.
Hey Yoystan, off topic but have you ever covered the fact that the Balrogs never come back, being Maiar would make them immortal, do they attempt to go to the Halls of Mandos and are rejected? Is being turned into Balrogs something that changes them so much that they are bound to that form and once killed are unable to come back like Sauron did?
@@licmir3663 that's kinda what I was thinking, Sauron lost a great deal of his power with the ring, is becoming a Balrog something akin to that, pouring the power into the form so much that when they "die" they are to weakened to take a physical form again
Doesn't sound that different from the show actually. So the show did pretty well overall, especially considering the source material was edited multiple times and compiled from scraps of paper.
Tho RoP is best never acknowledged or spoken of.. The celebrimbor casting was probably the worst casting choice ever made on human history and possibly before. Galadriel is a very close second
@ it’s not but I am glad you like it. For me the silmarillion almost feels like a sacred text and I truly loath the identity stuff so forced in past decade Ruined favorite characters like Galadriel and celebrimbor. I watched first season n tried to watch second but only made it to seeing an orc family and I was just done
*Fun fact:* There's an illustration made by Alan Lee that shows Sauron forging the One Ring wearing only a loincloth. Peter Jackson robbed us an amazing scene 😂😂😂

Great timing on my part. It's time for Sunday evening chilling with Yoystan. The washing can wait until tomorrow morning. 😊❤❤❤😊

Nice, I got out of the church service live stream just in time for this
Awesome video Celebrimbor’s last Stand always epic

Not fun
Good work man!
Thanks for the video, this story was already brilliant the way it was.

Stop watching that garbage.

Never again!
Obsessing over the dryness of a riverbed seems stupid. Many shows and movies get that wrong.
My favorite time on Sunday, Men of the West video time!
Shadow of Mordor showing Celibrimbor last stand in his throne room is what I pictured how it happened

Really cool swordfight though.
I’m at the green dragon having a beer
The Elves would never recover from the War of the Elves and Sauron; just before it began marked the high point of Elven power and culture in the 2nd Age.
0:40 recent adaptations haven’t done the second age justice at all.
I like that Celeborn sticks to his guns, and keeps hating dwarves. No discovery or redemption arc

That’s a good question. They were possibly fated to remain as malicious shadows like Sauron, unable to take form nor to be accepted with the Valar.
@@licmir3663 that's kinda what I was thinking, Sauron lost a great deal of his power with the ring, is becoming a Balrog something akin to that, pouring the power into the form so much that when they "die" they are to weakened to take a physical form again
A lot of homes burned, children and puppies got massacred, and Sauron found nothing there but hey, that’s my interpretation.
That still from PJ's movie, is that meant to be what's left of Eregion in the third age?
The Elves were tricked once more as another wig had been crafted!
Here is an interesting thought. What if the elves did destroy the other rings of power?
Wait, you're telling me it was not by randomly hitting rocks that damed the river? ROP did lie?
Thank you for your work :) God bless you.
Rumor has it Celebrimbror dies on top of Galadriel in the upcoming season three premiere of R.O.P.
What would Sauron do with the elven rings if he got ahold of them
So the Rings of Power show was actually right ?
I read Silmarillion quite a time ago, forgot what happened during First and Second Age in details...
What? No lol
Doesn't sound that different from the show actually. So the show did pretty well overall, especially considering the source material was edited multiple times and compiled from scraps of paper.

Galadriel is a very close second
I find it a good show, if one can see it as not part of Tolkien's work
@ it’s not but I am glad you like it. For me the silmarillion almost feels like a sacred text and I truly loath the identity stuff so forced in past decade
Ruined favorite characters like Galadriel and celebrimbor. I watched first season n tried to watch second but only made it to seeing an orc family and I was just done
But we saw what happened already??? The Orcs smashed the mountain and cut off the water and walked across the river to seige the city...

What happened? He fell obviously! And you call yourself a Tolkien fan! Jk
Diversity, Equality and Inclusion - D.E.I. If will believe in Amazon's version of the fall.
The POS show ROP f'ed up that too.
If Eregion falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
