I love the thought of having an actual delivery person trying out an Electric van. Too bad about the price and the battery size, but it is a great first vehicle from Ford. Great video

This is the most reliable video I've seen cause they are telling us the truth. I have the same van and it's the worst investment I've made. Just don't buy an electrical van 😒

@ViniloMc I'm sure longer range vans with a heat pump will be better. This just has a bad heater and small battery. Very limited use.

I'm a power wheelchair users that would like an eevee. This is the only option out there I can even consider, apart from the even more expensive Mercedes E sprinter

When I drove wheelchair accessible vans they used Caravans. I would love to suggest a Pacifica plug in hybrid but I see issues with that too. The floor needs to be cut out for the versions that I drove and they are also crash tested. I don't see that company being able to relocate the fuel tank AND a battery.
You're right, this is likely your best option. I was even thinking that this van would be good for postal work and as a bus with the cutaway version. I hope they make the larger LFP battery option for you like you mentioned.

Apparently there will be a BEV version of the Chrysler Pacifica in 2024. But I don't see a way to lower the floor on any vehicle with batteries down there. The only way to get more clearance is raise the roof. Hence, something like this van. You mentioned it was very noisy however - did yours have any insulation in the back or was it just bare metal?

Completely bare metal. There is no insulation except the driver floor. Even the front windows are single pane rather than the laminated glass in most EVs. You can hear buffeting wind noise too when driving below 100kmh.

@@livewirereview i've been looking at quite a few videos about people putting sound in insulating foam sheets in the Ford transit vans, and apparently it makes a huge difference on internal noise. It would probably be a good option for someone attending to use this fan for passenger use. One of the most well known brand is kilmat.

@StewartMidwinter the possibilities are endless! I used to drive a conversion van when I was younger and they can put anything you like in a van. Look at some of the Mercedes sprinter vans. The sound insulation foam is a great idea 💡 👌.

0 you mentioned you would like a 98 kilowatt hour battery. Ford actually mentioned back in May that they plan on releasing an extended-range version with a 50% larger battery. The idea was for it to come after they release lfp batteries for the Mustang and the F-150, so it could be awhile. And if they don't get that new battery plant built, you won't see new batteries in any of these vehicles.

I used to drive a wheelchair van at the auto show years ago. This van with 98kwh battery would be perfect! I believe that version would come out once the NACS connector is being installed on Ford EVs. My prediction for the EV industry is that 2025 to 2030 we will have real choice with real charging options and we'll be over 25% penetration of EVs from 2030 to 2040.
LFP batteries in both the F150 and E-Transit would be perfect!

By the way, I've been reading peoples reviews of real world range while driving around with a partial load and mixed highway and city, driving, and some of them are getting frequently around 140-1 50 miles, or two 225-240 km.

    • @livewirereview

That's pretty good range for a heavy tall van with a small battery!

Agreed. Not far enough for a lot of businesses.
