New Orbea Wild FS 2020 E-MTB | Best Bits Of Trail & Enduro Bikes?

  • Orbea has been making strides into the trail and enduro market recently with a couple of cracking bikes being launched over the past couple of years - the Rallon and Occam. While the Wild FS has been in their range for a little while, this latest version looks to put their e-offering on a similar performance level as their aforementioned 'analogue' bikes.
    Orbea have taken advantage of the latest motor from Bosch, which is now lighter, smaller and better performing on the trail. They've also included it in the MyO program, which enables customers to pick and choose between a million colour combos for the frame and logos, with no additional (financial) cost.

    Had mine for over a week now and put about 200k in so far! Love the bike. Im 5" 10 and riding a large. It looks smaller than other large bikes I've ridden before but it feels great to ride out on the trails. The suspension feels plush and supportive and that Bosch motor is a work of art. Great bike from Orbea, although I agree I think an extra 10mm in reach on the large would not have harmed.

    I've just taken delivery of an H20 to replace a Trek Powerfly 4FS. The difference is significant on the trails I ride, mostly blue and red single track downhill. It cruises over features in comparison. The Trek was more of a cross country bike and it was excellent in that regard but for the riding I do I'm loving the Orbea.

    How tall are you? I’m 5’11” and all my newer bikes have the longer reach will it be safe to get an XL and shorten the stem since the seat angle is steep pushing you up further to the bars? Or is the large perfect and your only sacrificing climbs because it’s short and the DH is better compared to the XL

    Seems like a pointlessly expensive proposition to put carbon bars and cranks on a 22 kg ebike. How much difference could that make? I think the presence of the battery and motor allows you to choose strong less expensive parts and pay essentially no penalty. Very different from a regular bike where all the weight you have to manage with your own power.

    • @bfranco1519
      @bfranco1519 4 роки тому

      Has nothing to do with weight ( to which your point is valid ), but ride quality, stiffness, and price point.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    Clearly you have to ride the bike to make a proper judgment, but the short reach and long (ish) chainstay don’t seem very appealing..

      Look. I have been riding mtnbikes for over 35 years now. I have seen lots of changes in them. But in short, we all want less weight, more gears, and best angles to get best results with same effort. When I was a child I was amazed to see 3 gears and then many more in time. At my age now, 60, I have seen my heart beat per minute at 184 and that is really risky for my health and for my life. Now with mi emt bike I can cycle longer, spend many more calories, get higher, more miles and, what is even more important, enjoy more the countryside. It is true that I cycle almost 100 per cent in eco, which makes me sweat a lot and do lots of exercise but I can control my highest heart beats under 165 or so. There may be bikers who prefer to overuse stronger help from their motors and do little exercise. That is annoying even for me, of course When I am ride with 45 year old bikers I never go first. But the important thing is that I now can go with them again in spite of their being much younger and stronger than me. I hope that you understand what I mean in spite of my English. I am Spanish and English is not my mother tongue. Thank you. From Almería un Soain
