Very good information , Just one question. During Read operation, When the NameNode sends the IP Address of the requested blocks there itself wasn't decided that which Rack will be accessed to get the requested blocks ? The reason being, It was mentioned on this lecture that requested blocks will be accessed within Rack1 itself since the lie close to each other.

hello sir i install Hadoop 2.8.5 on ubuntu . When i restart ubuntu and enter command start-all.sh or start-dfs.sh and start-yarn.sh Accept Namenode all daemon start. When i enter 'hadoop-daemon.sh start namenode ' Namenode get start but when i access data in hdfs i found there is no data.
