Hi, thanks for the video. Practical question: how do you dial (from like HT, I suppose DTFM) from your repeater close by to that other repeater (like in another country) you want to come out?
But how do you link a whole image repeater to another page? I am working on my art gallery page, and I want to link my "previous exhibits" each to their own respective page, but it won't let me link the image as a whole
Have a remote echolink node linked to my local repeater. Running sysop, windows 10, and a signalink usb with a Ft2900r. Club wants to link a second repeater to my node. there is no internet access at the second repeater site. what id the simplest way to do it and what equipment do I need?
I liked what you talked about however -- getting the connection lines from the radio or repeater to the R Pie would require someone with a lot of knowledge about where to find those connections and what it takes to get the correct audio and the correct PTT lines correct -- hopefully there is a ham around that can help do that short of a commercial radio shop -- you mentioned the usb adapt that could be purchased for around $50 just wondering where that might be available from ??? -- thanks
This sounds fascinating. However what happens in dire circumstances when the internet backbone is Knocked out? Isn’t ham supposed to get through when nothing else will? Seems crippling when it would be needed most.
Never answered the question, why would you not? Answer: internet. Only robust and reliable as the internet. You can power a rf link in many ways, you cannot power the ISP infrastructure. So the real question is what are you trying to achieve.
Great presentation. Timely as our club is in the 'wish list' stages of linking our 2 repeaters.
Just came across AllstarLink! Thanks for the intro!
I love ham radio ham radio will be around forever ke8hfu

Ubquiti rocket m5 and ubquiti dish would be the way to go.

Is the legacy better or worse when a repeater is connected through the Internet?
Great information here, thank you for posting this. 73, ke0eyh/wrjr790
He literately has no idea how to link repeaters.
