It's not burnt. Detroit style pizza has cheese all the way around the edges and is cooked in a deep dish pan. The cheese caramelizes around the sides. Basically there's no outer crust like a traditional pizza. It's actually really good if you find a place that does it right. He also said that the wings were crispy outside and juicy inside.

Sauce goes on top of Detroit style, so it may look like there's none on there, but it kinda gets baked onto it.
