RCAF CH-149 Cormorant Landing, Startup & Takeoff From YYJ

It's safe to say that the CH-149 Cormorants from 442 Squadron are regular visitors here at YYJ. The guys from 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron often visit Victoria International Airport for their lunch break. Witnessing these massive helicopters starting up is quite impressive when standing just a few feet away...
....but earplugs would have been nice. 😄

Canada bought 15 of the CH-149 Cormorant 2 have been lost in Accidents that I am aware of but the Fleet is to get an MLU or Mid Life Update that will bring them to a Standard similar to those of Norway which will make these Helicpoters even Better with advanced Avionics and Navigation systems and they will make a good partnership with the new CC295 Kingfishers whenthey become fully operational also there is talk of purchasing additional CH-149's or convert some of the stored VH-71 Kestrels they bought as a spares source though I suspect they will buy New Aircraft from Leonardo these Helicopters were built in Italy and when delivered they flew them there using a lot of refuelling hops along the way
