I mean a) maybe they should have left that in because then the kiss at the end and the whole apocolypse love story would not have been so out of the blue. b) let us think about the fact what it means that they cut the scene to give Charles and Erik more screen time ;)

But even so, it wouldn't have made much sense in my opinion. In any way, Charles and Moira don't really give you anything to work with narratively. All he ever tells her is that she's beautiful and she's fascinated by his mutation. That's it. Like, I'm glad they cut it to leave more room for Charles and Erik but also because like this, it rather appears like Charles doesn't have much interest in her in the first place and the kiss is merely a distraction. Apocalypse still doesn't make sense but this movie is screwed anyway.
