It only gets worse when you consider that in her father's Palace the cognitive Sugimura is just as much of a creep as the real one, meaning her father was FULLY AWARE OF HIM BEING A CREEP.

That's a good point, but part of what made Haru's Confidant so interesting was how different she was from Mitsuru. While Haru opens up to her friends somewhat more easily than Mitsuru does, she doesn't have nearly as much leadership experience, which is why Haru realizes that she's better off not trying to lead the company. Interestingly enough, while Mitsuru and her father try to atone for her grandfather's crimes, Haru admires her grandfather and deals with the consequences of her father's actions.

53Spawn I'm torn honestly. even on my first play through when I maxed makoto I thought haru was just the sweetest god damned cinnamon roll on the planet and wanted to romance her but didn't want Valentine's Day drama. it is hard for me because I find makoto to be the driven type who learns to broaden her horizons and come out of her shell, while haru is the timid or passive type who learns to assert herself. both have great development as characters and I think both are top tier waifus. it is a shame that we can't play as the pimp of destiny like in personas 3 and 4 pre golden.
Haru and Joker's relationship, to me, feels the most... complete. Most of her Confidant is getting to know her as a person rather than really helping her out with stuff. Even with Makoto (who I romanced in my playthrough) we don't spend much time getting to know her. Haru doesn't get as much attention because of her late introduction and the fact that her introduction is spun into the worst Palace in the game.
I love how Haru just doesn't give a fuck about Sugimura anymore, not only because of that little speech she gave, but the fact that she was more concerned about Akira's hand more than the fact that Sugimura just got punched in the face! Damn, Haru is truly best girl, and you cannot change my opinion.
Haru is so kind and she deserved to choose her own path in this world. Not to have others treat her as a puppet than a human being. Everyone deserves a chance to choose what they want to do.

This comic dub is really amazing! I wish this was in the actual game because it shows a point of progression. Before, Haru just sat back and let her ex-fiance boss her around but in this she has the courage to stand up for herself thanks to MC. Haru in this doesn't seem like an easy-going character and all smiles because she finally cracks down on her abusive ex-fiance and that also points out her true awakening. Remember when her persona said, "Freedom for you stems from betrayal" this kind of puts it into a literal sense. She betrays her father and all the terrible things he has in order to protect and be with the one's she cares about(in this comic dub, MC). Edit: That was a great add in with the song "wake up, get up, get out there".
