Maybe it's an issue of animation or sound design, but a lot of these feel weak and stilted. There's not always a strong emphasis on the actual hits as they are delivered, nor the sensation that they got hit so hard it should send them flying like it does.
There is a lot missing with the Finishers which just makes them feel weak. All of them are references sure, but for most of these it just feels so...weak. Handsome Squidward for example, would have made a perfect winning pose, but just such an underwhelming move. Or Plankton, it says he Self Destructs, but if we atleast saw a new machine to pick him up after to sell the idea, but it feels like it is missing something
Probably cuz the devs weren't very experianced with cinematic stuff on top of the game itself likely being rushed.
Tbf the game was made on a budget, expecting anything on the level of like smash would be a bit crazy. Most people are casuals and probably just want references abive all else which the game focused on and did well, that soul is what was lacking from the first game after all.
Squidward's feels specially bad because you can see they just wanted to add the joke,it could have been better if it was something like DK or Young Link's final smashes in which he transforms into handsome Squidward and dramatically hits the opponent with his face, while the actual cutscenes plays on the background.
Yeah, a lot of platform fighters fail this.
Portraying impact is a big deal and they missed the mark
Sound design also seems lacking in some of these too.
Many of these look so damn wonky, mainly Rocko's and how the opponent just gets back up after getting ran over multiple times. Super moves are supposed to feel like they hurt, but it's less effective when the opponent acts like nothing happens to them.
Yeah, this just proves despite being a sequel, the game is being made on a minimum budget.
Definitely. They don't seem too satisfying.
Couple that with how the other characters just kinda…sit there, like when Jimmy is getting run over by a train, his model literally just like rotates on its side. No change in stature or expression, no cringing from injury…
@@Zulmoka I genuinely thought Plankton's final smash was just unfinished in the character overview video. Turns out it actually just looks like that in the final product.
I feel like these could get way better with updates. All of the ideas are good, they just feel empty.

Every final smash feels extremely empty. Like for aang he could’ve recreated the intro instead of just doing a singular wind blast.

For so many of these they went with funny reference over power too. I would have loved for Handsome Squidward to be a winning pose, but the Final Smash...It feels like there is no power behind it, and kind of bland too. If they wanted Handsome Squidward for the FS, a punch or so might have worked better, but...not this
@@maniacaalThey released a sequal to a game that made a lot of money for being a Smash clone but worse during the same console generation, just added what should have been in part 1, and the new stuff they added in also goes from alright to underwhelming. Aka, yes it is a Cashgrab
@@Taraku43 I feel like squidward’s final smash would involve the zipper that takes the effected players to a wormhole and then to squidward’s big performance, which bursts the eardrums of the audience to launch the players through a pinball machine and get launched back on to the stage in a random spot.
There would be a bit of the red fog effect to reference the creepypasta, the idea comes from many of squidward’s weird adventures, the zipper’s from the Flying Dutchman episode, the big performance comes from a squidward episode which would convey how bad he is on the clarinet, the pinball comes from a squidward adventure which I think he explored the krusty krab safe(not sure considering how out of place these adventures are), though the pinball would be retextured to show a mural of all squidward’s adventures.
(I refer squidward adventures as an episode where he goes somewhere and logic get more thrown out the window than usual. The time travel episode be the prime example of that)
(Also I don’t remember every name of each episode and just go by what events happen)
All of them are good but some of them are missing that OOMF factor but final smashes like ren and stimpys are completely fine
have to say that in terms of visuals/production values this game is a major improvement over the first game

These look a bit unpolished at times and there are clearly some reused bits between them, but I still really like them. It's a major improvement over the first game.

It's honestly hilarious that in most of these, you can see the characters being hit just stand there and take it with little to any emotion at all.

I think most of them are great, but as someone said, some of them are too long or too slow for the pacing. Nevertheless it’s way better than the first game!

The issue is that the animation is wonky, the sound design is weak, and they completely kill the flow of the game. Not every FS in Smash is a full cutscene, so why make every FS here a full cutscene?

It's so weird. Like some of them are good and then some of them seem so half-assed. Graphical clipping, stale model animations, little to no sfx, or just being boring. I could have thought up so many more ideas for Jenny if given some time

Bro how the hell did they make a sequal to a fighting game with a smaller roster and not even include all the characters in the sequal, and add in finishers that feel so...rushed. So many of these moves either lack motion, effects, anything after it is done. It makes them feel less like they were planned since the start but more a last second inclusion

Call them ultimate attacks. Final smash is a bit redundant and doesn’t really properly describe the moves.
Final smashes are all distinct and so wildly different damage. These aren’t, other than the cutscenes
Not sure if anyone has ever played the billy and Mandy game but these have the same vibe as it’s version of final smashes

Incredibly well animated but lack the powerful feel, more camera shake and hitpause as well as some more intense sound design would work wonders

I can see some of the issues with animation/feel but frankly a lot of them feel pretty on point. Just needs some clean up and perhaps better conceptualization for some (like Jimmy’s ult being just “RUN YOU OVER WITH A ROCKET”). I think more stagger animations/in between frames and sound synch would solve most of these.

I still think they are missing home with some things like more personality with supers. they do well with SpongeBob and the 80s turtles (which tbh should have been 2012 sense thats the ones their target audience will most familiar with.) but these supers are really boring on screen.

A lot of these were weird, but this was easily the worst one. It straight up doesn't make sense unless I missed the part of the cartoon where she makes a spirit bomb out of the news. And it wouldn't even be hard to come up with one that does make sense.
I like how Jimmy's "Brain Blast" idea was to ram them with his rocket.
It would have been a cooler idea to make it so Goddard turns into the giant robot from the power hour. It was from a crossover so it would make sense to have it in the crossover game.

Most of these are kinda meh...but using "Handsome Squidward" as Squidward's ultimate was a stroke of genius on the devs' part. They could have just as easily done something with his clarinet.
Also, so happy that they included "I'll do this with my hands" as one of Nigel's taunts.
Missed opportunity. Azula at best should build up the electric attack and did a crackling strike instead of her blue flames. Though a good amount of these smashes are great but some aren't really showing what the character is.
Aang's was also really freakin' weak. Like coulda been a specific scene, like the Avatar state he did against Ozai, spirit bending, but nah it was just a really quick blast of some of the elements mixed but it looked really sloppy visually.
