+Jonathan Middleton well put sir. The amount of depth and honesty in that show is absolutely amazing and especially considering that you are not expecting it.
To me, BoJack Horseman may be one of the most culturally relevant shows for the lost. I identify with BoJack's angst, the hopeless drive to find acceptance and happiness... the tightly bottled rage at a backwards society too focused on the trivial and mundane.
Not that Bojack can't be tangled up in that artificial lifestyle that is celebrity culture, but overall yeah I agree. Ironically it's more about the human experience, rather than a satirical look at Hollywood. While it is a satire of celebrity culture, and does some pretty good jabs at it. Ryan Ce crest Type: Are you at all worried that audiences will grow bored and abandon you for the next sexy thing? While quotes like this stick out the most. Bojack: My point is I don't understand how people live, Its amazing to me that people can wake up every morning and say "Yeah, another day, let's do it." How do people do it? I don't know how. Princess Carolyn: Yaaaaay! *nervous claping*
I feel like hes healing as am I. Like were both figuring this shit out. this year was a positive turn for me, i hope next season will let bojack let go of some of his self loathing and heal as well. My theory for the show is eventually he'll become an example to his friends (Diane, PC, Mr.Pb, Todd, etc.) and they will all find some form of happiness even thou that might be different for each of them.
I already know more people will show up because of the show, so before they all arrive, I'd like to say that this was a perfect prelude to the most spectacular crash and burn I've ever seen in a television series. I'm glad I found this piece of music, it's beautiful.
That episode was a great ending to that show, you really could stop there if you want a happy ending. But that's not what that show is. That show is about realism. And life is usually shitty to people.
If you come to find out who you are May you find out, may you find out who you are And if you come to search for what is lost Then may you find it, may you find it at any cost And if you come over from far May it not touch you or ever do you harm And if you come oh so soft You may look up one day and you'll be hard If I were to die today Slaughtered in that masquerade The last thing that you'd hear me say Put my body on display In the parade Passing slowly through the town My feet, they can not touch the ground Of the parade All of my friends were there Waiting on me All the glory was there Waiting on me And I was there Waiting on me I have come, I will go Just to stay in If I were to die today Puppet in that great charade The last thing that you'd hear me say Is bury me in different shapes Of the parade Passing slowly through the town My feet, they can not touch the ground Go now, you'll go but oh just how Never leave this, never leave this town
lolol iunno man, i find bojack is a pretty good representation of capitalist society and the face of modern nihilism/existential horror and what it brings a person to ie seek fame/become famous, get addicted to drugs, lose yourself in the social game, let people abuse you/abuse people.
I will be forever thankful to an alcoholic narcissistic horse for the gift of Kevin Morby in to my life. This song is all the different shades of beautiful.
I started crying when the episode ended. What a beautiful song. There are some real artists out there. Thank you all. We are all sad but we are in this dumbshit together.
In college I had a partner who died of a disease (meningitis), I had just seen the chapter of Bojack and this song appeared. I cried and listened to this song so many times and whenever I listen to or read this part I remember his funeral or the times my friends went to the hospital. "All my friends were there Waiting on me All the glory was there Waiting on me And I was there Waiting on me " It is so hard to move on when you lose a mate. This year my friends and I graduated . We always knew how much you loved your career, your family and friends We will always remember you Marcelo, rest in peace (Sorry for the English)
This is my last week before rehab, bojack horseman's story made me go. It made me realise that i am not doomed to be the shitty person that i've always been. I still know that there's a real posibility of me coming back and being the same person, just sober. The reason why i relate to Bojack personally is becouse he is literally the same as me. As much as He is a horse, i am a man
My friend, who I have never met. I hope your rehab went well, that you reconnected with the person you were before, and that you are now healthier, happier and in control. I hope that you have found peace, new strength, and love for yourself and for those around you. I hope you are doing well. Even though we will never meet, I wish the very best for you. Take good care. X
This came on shuffle when I was walking and I will never forget how this older man crossing the street stared into my eyes as I was approaching. I must have been in a trance, and he looked deep into my soul and without saying a word, I felt something tangible and strange, but it was a comforting moment.
I felt like I had to throw up because of the tension in the end. rewatched it tons of times of course. for me its the climax of the series so far. Bojack screws uo more than any time else
Reading through the comments, I think it's safe to say you made a wise move with your song feature in BoJack Horseman. I have that show to thank for introducing me to this song, and initially this whole album, which is amazing. I encourage everyone to listen through it. Very relatable, very beautiful.
The moment when Todd finishes his improv scene and everyone is cheering and he looks for Bojack in the two seats he has reserved for him and he isn't there. The look on Todd's face destroyed me. This show is one of the best I've ever watched.
Kevin, and company, what you´ve done is present the real New York city. Thank you so much. The reality of our world, the beautiful music... my city. Our New York City.
First time I heard this song in Bojack, though I'd heard Morby before that (Harlem River). Finished the show before half a year, but still listen to this song, without any flashbacks from the show. The song is great (the show too). The chorus is very sad and sometimes makes me want to cry a little lol. Also, loved the video. Morby loves NY
I started watching BoJack Horseman during a time when I was broken, and somehow the show dragged me deeper into my sadness, so I stopped because I didn't want to relate a self-destructive, alcoholic and selfish character. Three years later, I feel less depressed, and I started watching again from the begginning with a new goal: to learn from BoJack, so that I won't become like him.
Songs like these validate me. But I know that it's not healthy to dwell on them for too long 😩 Not as depressed as I used to be, I'm hitting the gym daily, healthy eating, drinking a lot less(barely) and I have a better outlook and self security. But every now and then something happens that reminds me that I am me and that there's no cure for that. 🐴

Decided to buy the 'still life' LP after watching Bojack! I feel like a bit of a sell-out for doing so - but all I can do now is be grateful to Bojack Horseman for introducing me to this!
+Shaun Rowe You used the word sell out wrong. But whatever guilt you're feeling who cares. They let the show use their song for exposure. If you support them now that is exactly what they'd want.
Wanda: What happened, BoJack? BoJack: Same thing that always happens. You dint know me. Then you fell in love with me. And now you know me. Wanda: You know it's funny. When you look at somebody through rose colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags
Reminds me of a good scene in BoJack Horseman (paraphrased for you) Mr. Peanutbutter: We're calling the show, Mr. Peanutbutter and Jelly; it's wordplay! BoJack: You may have too forgiving a definition of the word wordplay Mr. Peanutbutter: It's a working title. BoJack: WELLLL it could be working HARDER. And that, is wordplay. sounds like someone took the fun molecules out of your childhood

TadhgMan7 TM Don't care. There are puns in Bojack Horseman, but it's not the majority of the jokes.
Reminds me of a good scene in BoJack Horseman (paraphrased for you)
Mr. Peanutbutter: We're calling the show, Mr. Peanutbutter and Jelly; it's wordplay!
BoJack: You may have too forgiving a definition of the word wordplay
Mr. Peanutbutter: It's a working title.
BoJack: WELLLL it could be working HARDER. And that, is wordplay.
sounds like someone took the fun molecules out of your childhood
@@EhCanadianGamer 5 years later, i'm laughing at your comment even harder because it would save me time from doing it myself. Canadian hospitality is amazing :)
Diane's philosophy of "Life and Happiness" is so real and accurate. It depressed me.
This song makes me feel so sad and I love it.. It fits perfectly the scene of Bojack..
I can relate to it in a certain way ahahahah
This is my favourite song. Forever.
