I’ve been looking for so long a a well detailed video to replace the clutch for my pt cruiser and you literally made the best video ever thank you so much ❤
@@BradleysGaragewell done and detailed enough to allow a first timer to have the confidence to attempt the job themselves. I’ve seen turbo clutch jobs , but never an NA . It’s something that has been needed for at least a decade ! I’ve spread the word across all the PT groups I belong to on Facebook.
Hey man, love your show, no bullshit, just facts and great camera work…..I’ll be binging, Merry Christmas! BTW…..are you a firefighter? Saw your red line shirt….Im retired blue line👍🇺🇸
I replaced my clutch in my 2001 PT Cruiser this weekend. I got it back together and tried to start it, it made a grinding noise, I turned it off and now it won't start at all. Any ideas?
Sorry to hear that David, it sounds like the starter may not be fully seated into the transmission housing. If you are confident the clutch pack and throw-out bearing were installed correctly, then the misaligned starter is all that we can think of. Get the front wheels off the ground and check the transmission movement. Does everything rotate freely with the transmission in neutral? How about if you put it in gear, does everything still rotate without any funny sounds? Let us know, Cheers!
@@JnRskaters I took the whole transmission back out and back in and it fired away! This PT Cruiser has 560K miles. I've keep it going all these years and hadn't replaced the clutch until then. It's been a great car for my needs, but it is ready to retire like me, next month. Your video was a BIG help. Thanks!

Ive just started watching you and really enjoy your videos, I just wanted to give you some feedback about this one, its too specific of a video for me to enjoy, i feel you are limiting your audience to diy clutch changers on this specific vehicle. ill be back for your fault finding and maint videos still
Thanks for the feedback Dale, we prefer working on projects and that's what we want to focus on. Sometimes however, we have to tackle these one off repairs and since we are performing the repair, we go ahead and create the video just in case someone out there needs the help. We have a few examples on our channel where we thought they would just help a few people and have ended up getting thousands of views. ua-cam.com/video/qwlcCnwFT0o/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/6H28pxrfs2c/v-deo.html Thanks again for the support, we will keep producing content that we hope you will enjoy. We agree, but they made a billion of them so they are everywhere. This one my parents purchased brand new, so it's been in the family for many years now. Prefer not to work on it but this is one of the easiest manual FWD transmission to remove so it wasn't that bad. Cheers!

It always looks so much easier on video but it's typically a process every time. Congrats on getting yours done. Cheers!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder my friend. These cars were designed to be retro and look different than all the other cookie cutter cars.
