I want the awesome screenprint on mine... why can't you release these things during the summer when I'm bringing home enough to buy 4 jackets a week. I'll have to try extra hard to find work through my union soon.
I normally watch all my video's at 1.5x speed but I can't do that with your videos bro. You already talk at 1.5x speed, and I love it. These video's you put out are very on point and factual, and a lot of times I really like how you mention brands that have lower prices but the quality is still there. I hope and wish you get more subscribers soon, just so you can keep banging out more great videos. Kudos to you dude, much love from a random guy in the midwest.
Really cool to see you falling in love with S.E.H Kelly, been one of my favorites for the better part of a decade now. Everything they make just oozes with quality, and Paul is a delight to work with. I was lucky enough to get a chance to visit their workshop back in 2015 and ahhhhh it's everything you could expect and more.
Hey Michael, can you make a video about Ginew and their products. It’s a Native American owned company and their American made products look amazing! Thank you!
I just want to mention that I recently discovered your content and immediately binged most of it! I've been looking for a creator that discusses both form and function because I care about how I look but also material, quality, and sourcing. Great work!!
Hey could you make a video about thrifting or shopping online for quality heritage pieces like you mention in this video. I would hate to get snookered into buying a piece of junk…
Got a great LL Bean wool sweater made in the USA on Poshmark last year. Lined pockets, baby! Would love a video on how to find good used clothing at the best prices.
Gentleman's Gazette has an excellent video on that topic. It's titled something like, "How to get up to 80% off menswear every time." They are more about classic menswear, but the concepts and techniques are applicable.
right off the bat, definitely agree going vintage for the detroit jacket. i was lucky enough to get one for $100 and it looks so much better than the new ones they’re making. and i’ve had my eye on that LC king denim barn coat for soooo long now, what a nice jacket
Spier And Mackay definitely deserve a nod for their overcoats, they are more prominently known in the formal / smart casual community of menswear for their use of some of the same fabrics / materials as high end bespoke makers and i have never heard anything but positives about their quality for a extremely reasonable price due to the lack of overhead from being a prominently direct to consumer company beyond a single flagship storefront.
+1 Spier and Mackay, I think they recently expanded their coat line and they make just about every style of classic men’s outerwear now from denim jackets to waxed (think belstaff) motorcycle jackets
Spier & Mackay are definitely great for outerwear, everything tends to run a little small but their chore coats are my favorite I have found because they integrated handwarmer pockets behind the lower patch pockets. Their overcoats definitely skew more formal except maybe their balmacaans (they don't make them every year) and some of the peacoats.
I found Amundsen when I was in Colorado at a local store, Acme fine good, what a cool brand. Their shorts go crazy, the heroes hoody is nuts and the harvester is absolutely gorgeous. I own several pieces buying on eBay cause of the price but boy is it nice.
Amundsen is by far my favorite brand of all time, i have many sweaters and the heroes anorak that i cant wait to bring on my trip to Antarctica. Cant recommend it enough and it's worth the price almost every time.
There were a lot of Baracuta jackets of different varieties in TK Maxx last year but none of them were in my size which was frustrating. My mother ended up getting one though. Interesting shoe suggestions I really need some stuff like this but it's hard to find near me to try on in person. I've big feet need something minimal. Unfamiliar with some of these American brands. At the moment I like YMC and Anerkjendt for trousers. Carthart and Barbour have very good quality scottish wool jumpers in nice patterns also.
Here’s a tip from me: McNair Shirts I have the heavyweight Mountain Shirt, and it cost me £375.But it’s warm enough that I don’t need anything warmer during winter (when layering) - and I live in Norway! It’s 100 % amazing wool, built like a tank while still comfortable, and made-to-measure is included in the price. Oh, and everything is made in England! My only complaint is the lack of hand warmer pockets. It’s also available in some varieties, like a medium weight one that’s a bit cheaper.
IIRC You’ve never mentioned Andersen Andersen knitwear, which surprises me. I own the Sailor crewneck and it is the heaviest and best quality knitwear I’ve ever owned. Curious how’d you stack them against other knitwear you’ve reviewed
Hey Michael, you should have a look at the Fracap Magnifico. They're a beautiful Italian made stitchdown monkey boot at a really sensible price. I love mine, they're really comfortable too! 😊
How is sizing for you with the knickerbocker x fracap shoes? I also own a pair of Solovair’s so if you tell me both sizes it would be really helpful. Thanks!
Hey Michael you should check out the Italian brand Scarosso Edmund hiking boots. I got the suede boots and oh boi the quality, the feel and even the packaging are so wellllll made. I always hated the Danner even though they are considered as classics but the way they looked on my 160pound and 5 foot 8 frame is awful, way too bulky. Let me know what you think Greetings from Germany
Keep going. The videos are great, it's gonna pay off... I can feel it. I watch your videos and I always take something away with me. Today... I'm looking into LL Bean rollneck sweaters and UES.
For my American friends, the wonder looper is a 25 oz Terry fabric. For perspective the naked and famous heavyweight hoodie is about 13.5oz. I need wonder looper. And $120 for a t shirt :(
UA-cam recommended this video to me. Ok. I was pleasantly surprised that you recommend L.L.bean baxter state parka 82, which I bought just a week ago. I'm from Russia. I bought a jacket in Russia. Believe me, this is very difficult to do. But it's definitely worth it. It's a really cool jacket. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
My comment in chat discussing yr greatness, that is the Iron Snail, aka Michael Michael Mototorcycle, on the N&F Bahzad and Risa livestream. Nothing but love for you in that community. Bahzad said you gotta be at a million subs. It's a crime you aren't, but our special crime we love!
Do you have any flannel shirt recommendations? I'm looking to pick one up for the fall. The Faherty sweater flannel caught my eye but the $178 seems too high for a flannel shirt made from polyester.
I belive J M Weston golf shoes would go in advanced section, right? I love the inclusion of Paraboot, beginner alternative to it, that is still original design i see Clark's Wallabee
Hey Michael I have the Tuesday jacket from story mfg and will say it’s my favorite to wear! Not the warmest jacket but you will look stylish regardless 🫣
Micheal, when I started the video I was wearing a very similar double denim fit. I have since changed three times, and I think I need help. Why can I not pull off any outfit... With love, Alex
Yo brother, you wearing the Wrangler "Cowbuy Cut" there? If so I have the same jeans inm the same colour and damn the value on them is absolutely insane. I have Japanese selvedge bespoke denim that cost me £200 and I go back to these time and time again.
Michael, it's an excellent video, and I love your Denim jacket, especially the back. If I may, though, I find the arm badge a bit too much "in your face" and wish it was more understated. Good luck!!
Hey Michael, small comment. Have you considered turning down a bit the saturation of the oranges in your color correction? Makes you look like a salmon in most shots lol Also white levels and highlights are always clipping and feels like with your nice framing and good cinematography in general it could be improved a bit since it's just something to adjust in post. Cool video as usual :)
@@TheIronSnail Yo! I know you would read it. Thanks for the response, just a minor nitpick from someone that does photography and videos sometimes. But your pacing, framing and editing it's great and I always appreciate how you go the extra mile to get multiple shots. Cheers!
If you do make an awesome Wool jacket, and it has that patch or any other external logo on it, If i were to decide to buy it and it fits and i want to keep it, than the logo or patch is getting torn off. Let you product speak for itself. end rant and Good Luck with everything.
Funny that with all this Danner cut in half controversy that no one is mentioning that the price of the boot reflects the fact that it’s US Union made - I’m not sure that r&a covered that in their critique of the boot
@@TheIronSnail Michael would you ever be interested in doing a review of Yoshida and Company bags? Would love to get your take on Japan vs USA totes, haulers, and maybe even field watches Hopefully there’s not a prohibition on you doing watch content on this channel Hearts and stars from Vermont
Ok i understand the last of the Vibergs is not perfect for you so you would not do a video on it but Fracap? I mean they apparently invented mountaineer boots that Danner and Viberg followed. Funn overview video
I remember the hype around UES flannels last year so I picked one up this Fall… I like it just fine but don’t really see the comparison to Iron Heart. It’s a nice flannel but is sitting at the right price point, IMO.
Man i love your videos. I would like if you actually use the items you talk about and show a few outfits and not just show the items tho. Your denim jacket looks amazing
Am I the only one that thinks Michael's hair is starting to look like The Fonz from Happy Days? Never mind. I just realized I'm probably the only old person here.
I actually don't think there was anything wrong with the danner, it was just no better than stuff you can get for £200 less. Overpriced rather than actually bad.

I've got a green woolen swedish m39 and m58 tunic and they look pretty similar to the one at 5:18 and 1:52 so im sorted.
