That’s the main issue with these stories. The idea is that the main character is weak, cus his power is “the weakest”. But everyone with more brain cells than the median anime watcher (so like 4) will instantly see how game breakingly OP it is.
So, when the author reveals the powers true strength, it doesn’t feel like a cool extension of an underestimated weaker power, but rather like him stating the obvious.
Also, he gets even more powers from other sources. So, why even bother with the Gimmick. Just read Isekai Uncle instead

And almost every writer after cypher's creation in the 80s keeps finding ways to make Cypher theorically more BROKEN like how cypher could easily learn hand-to-hand combat (body language), programming (code is a language) or even magic (magic is a language)
Well, the shtick is that his power allows him to understand any language... except human. So while he's able to talk to orcs, dragons and even nightmare-inducing spider-things, he can't talk to ordinary humans who are the dominant species in the world. And that would have made for an interesting setup, however, being the Gary Stu that he is he eventually finds a way to get around that, so after the first few episodes it's barely an inconvenience.
The price for that power was other human wouldn't understand your speaking. Even though later on he learn how to use magic to make floating words from his finger that compensate his inability to speak verbally.

The best compliment a video could have, when it lists at 16 minutes, but felt like seconds. Best anituber in this viewer's opinion, because you make what can be grinding script and film work flow so quickly and smoothly. Continued success, and maybe a little more Netflix cash for ya in the future - to keep doing art your way.

I don´t know if it goes up and beyond, but Vanitas was pretty fun to watch. The Interaction between the characters hit the riht level of lightheartedness and the mystery is gripping. Also the Animation and sound are incredibly strong

As a person that loves the Vanitas Manga, I can only tell you that the story has some very coool twists and turns and if you liked Pandora Hearts (the Manga, not the Anime), you'll enjoy the show. It's not just pretty boy vampires, I can assure you.

Hilariously enough, I just wrote in my own comment why it might not appeal to many, lol. I'm going to watch it, but I'm thinking this anime is slanted a bit more towards the ladies. Which perhaps it is, but I also know I've sort of been beaten down too much with hearing guys disavow any anime that doesn't have milfs and harems and guys fighting each other as not being "good", so anything that steps outside the realm of that, I instantly figure no guy would like it. I know in my heart of hearts, that's not true, but damn, it gets tiring hearing it.

The animation for season 2 of Magia Record is insane and makes no sense. It is practically movie quality. I feel like nobody is talking about it, when it is literally the best animation of the season, and a contender for best animation of the year.

The Duke of Death and His Maid is also a very cute anime that's started this season. The animation is unique and the characters are great! By the end of episode one I was fully invested in the Duke and maid's relationship, it even made me tear up. It's absolutely a must watch.
