It's Ráni(ts)a not Raní(k)a ;) means "Morning", if you want to know. Great review anyway.
Thank you! Pinned!
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Thanking you so much for your awesome explanation, and perfectly detailed. 💐👍
With a hole in some wood and a roll of film, you have turned some light bouncing off a stick on the beach into a stunning print. Not just developing the film which anyone who can follow basic instructions can do, but in the dark room doing real dodging and burning without software. It makes me revaluate what it means to be called a photographer. Excellent work sir, I look forward to watching more of your videos!
Thank you Dude! Kind.
Stunning images and prints mate, proof it's the photographer and not the camera who counts.
Thanks Victor.
Absolutely stunning prints. Pinhole and seascapes are my favourite. Im pleased you gave fp4 a go, its a great film. Acros is a no brainer for pinhole as its reciprocity curve makes it easy for all but the very longest of exposures. Im loving the pinhole episodes and as usual seeing you work in the darkoom is a pure joy.
Thanks. When I switched to fp4 I omitted reciprocity failure for the first few frames after shooting the acros. Easy mistake.
It shows that a good photographer needs nothing more than a box with a hole in it! Great video and great images 👌
Thanks Simon.
Some of these shots on fiber paper would be magnificent.
Wow, stunning prints!
Very Cool Camera Roger and Great Pictures
Thanks Marcel..
I liked those shots so much that I ordered one of their 6x6 pinhole cameras!
Well made cameras. Have fun!
Great review, enjoy it👍👍👍
Cracking shots and film 👍
Thanks Joseph.
Very Cool Roger! Fantastic Prints!
Thanks BW!
Great video Roger, thats a real cute looking camera. Love what your getting from those pin holes.
Cheers mate. Thinking of shooting one?
Great video and good looking prints Roger!
Grazie 📸📸📸
Top job Rog, really liking the latest pinhole camera will have to invest in one.
Excellent prints of course
Cheers Andy
Some of the best pinhole pictures I’ve ever seen, it came as a bit of a revelation to be honest.
Well done and thanks !
Cheers Gary.
Stunning images!Just WOW!Love it!Nice job!
Thanks Vincent. 👍
This looks like a great camera. One thing, could you PLEASE do a video on exposure for a pinhole, and include reciprocity failure calculations? It's a mystery . . .
Love the images that you are getting out of that pinhole camera... awesome
Thanks Robert.
Excellent results there! you really have created some beautiful images.
Cheers Andrew.
Beautiful results!
I was looking at these just a couple days ago, thank you for the great video.
Nice camera Troy. Well made.
Awesome images as always! Something can be glued to that film rewinding screw so it is not necessary to use coin! :)
I did think that Ratimir. Thanks.
How did I miss this one lol loving your pinhole work roger hoping for a lerouge 66 for Xmas 🎄 beautiful images as always love the acros prints
Thanks Jonny 👍
really enjoying the pinhole videos Roger. You'll be a guest on the Lensless podcast next :) I think the next model of the Ranika could use a bubble level and two winding knobs, going in reverse is very handy sometimes.
Really it's a wonderful perfect photography, by using lens less or pinhole camera the pencil of the nature, your photography is extremely magnificent, especially black &white subjects, in addition of making a suitable enlargements on bromide papers, the results are amazing, I learned much more from your awesome explanation, but I see the idea of a using pinhole camera, needs patience and more effort, for the limited possibility of that camera. But the final results were amazing as well, thanks so much for your wonderful video editing.
Thank you for the kind words. Cheers.
Hello Roger, Thanks for introducing this pinhole camera.
Was also on the road today with the Harman Titan 4x5 inch pinhole.
In this Ranica Prosta Camera, I think it's great that you can put filters, I've missed on the LeRouge and the Zero Image 69 a few times already.
Only me the screw to advance the film is not at all.
greetings from Switzerland
Rolf
I may go 5x4 pinhole. I can't enlarge as I don't have a 5x4 enlarger. One day.
Brilliant mate gotta get me a pinhole cam looks like fun with some seriously good results. Cheers📷❤️📷
Its great fun pinhole. Once you've got used to metering and reciprocity fails. Slightly softer images. Super wide angles. Just a cool look away from the norm
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss nail firmly twatted mate I work with digital all day every day as a newspaper photographer and although I absolutely love it to bits it’s so nice to grab an old camera a roll of film slow right down experiment and eventually get a result that’s just away from the norm. 📷❤️📷 keep inspiring mate love it
👍Nice review and images. Think I would just glue a small tab in the slot for winding...maybe a version 2 will have one after your review. 😊
Interesting camera, great prints! I have Zero Image 6x9 camera, but did only one test with it, I must say cityscapes aren't good thing to shoot with a pinhole. But nature! Nature looks great on pinhole cameras. Need to give a camera another try for sure… Thanks for the video
I'd have thought city scapes would be awesome. Something I'm yet to try on pinhole. Cheers
Nice! I really should take my pinhole camera out, but I need to find stuff that would be cool to shoot pinhole with.
Yes Lori. I also have to rack my head over where to take it. Only tonight I thought I'd love to take it in a cathedral or large church and shoot it from I high corner. Ha ha. Totally impossible but nice thought!
Nice commercial, Roger! 😊 But seriously, you make wonderful photos with just about any box someone puts in your hand. Well done!
Thanks Ariston.
Hi Roger! Are you going to make a video about analogue film macro photography sometime? Thank you Tamás
No time soon Tamas, I'm not really into macro.
Really inspiring stuff. At what shutter speeds should I be considering reprocity failure?
Check out your film data sheet for reciprocity chart online. Some films are harder to find but the usual films Ilfords, Kodaks are all online.
I'm so glad redroom development is no longer required for photography, it gets romanticized but people like me would never be able to get into photography
You mean you're glad digital has evolved. Yes, me too. In the early days of me getting into film I used to take my DSLR with me on a film shoot to use as way of ensuring I was metering well.
Great as usually...What is the paper you use ?
I use mostly Ilford MG Pearl/Gloss and Kentmere vc select Lustre/gloss Resin Papers.
The filters is a big benefit but the coin wind on would drive me mental, its bad enough having to change batteries that way. Nice shots though, as always.
It's just something to get used to. It's no biggy just fiddly when you're not used to it.
Wonderfulpinhole-Videos - but I'm interested in "reciprocity failure calculations". Can you make a video to explain this in slow words for a foreigner in Hamburg? Thank you for your inspiration. I just ordered a 6x6 pinhole camera.
Have a look at my first two pinhole videos Manfred. Also another video I made at a Windmill on Reciprocity Failure long exposures. Any use?
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Thank you. I'll find them.
@@manfredoetting7694 let me know if it's what you're after
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Thank you so much. I found what I was looking for. Meanwhile I bought a Rogue camera. I'm looking forward to make my first shoots. I'm so inspired by your photos.
@@manfredoetting7694 enjoy your pinhole Manfred. It's great fun.
It's 120, not 120mm. Otherwise I'm a stunned by the effects, love it and would consider one myself.
Ha ha did I say mm! It's a nice camera.
Hi Roger, great video! Would like to ask what camera did you use to film in the darkroom while printing? I'm starting darkroom printing and would like to record the process n would appreciate if you can advise what sort of gear/setting you use! Thanks!!
Hi Kit. I use a Canon 6D DSLR with a 24-105 lens. . Usually with the safelights on iso set to 3200 or 6400. With normal lights on the iso is at 1200. Hope this helps.
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss Hi, thank you for the prompt response! Looking forward to try out the settings on my camera soon (: Cheers & god bless u!
if you are worried about losing your coin, why not just tie a string through a washer of the right size and hang it from the tripod
Ha ha like that! Brilliant.
I drilled a hole near the edge of a US quarter that I use to get my shopping cart when I go to Aldi and put it on my keychain. Could serve a dual purpose.
@@BlackHawk2029 odly enough I did stumble across a shopping cart token at home which has a hole in it. I did think of putting it in my bag but never thought of putting string on it and tying it around my neck. That coin ended up in every pocket
@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss that'll do the trick!
I almost never carry cash anymore after getting robbed at gunpoint a few years back, so I never have any change. Got real annoying not being able to get a shopping cart when I went to Aldi.
Comes in real handy for changing button cell camera batteries, too.
How good do pinhole film enlarge ? and what do you think is it worth your time shooting pinhole ?
These are 6x6 negs so will hold up well at 16 inch easily. Of course also depends on negative quality. I think photography is anything you want it to be. Pinhole has no lens so the prints are slightly softer yet the dof and wide angle of view I find exciting. It's worth the time if you find subjects that suit pinhole and can print to enjoy. Good questions.
Dear Roger, your pinhole images show us that the myth of the sharpness in photography is a faux problem. A wonderful image can be done with a pinhole without expensive lenses!!!!... or 48 megapixels!!!
Slightly soft but has a distinctive look Flavio
Brilliant. BTW and with the utmost respect it is not "120 mm film" it is "120 film". 120 is a code number not a dimension.
Bang on 😂.
Nudge my shutter?......HOW DARE YOU
Coin advance is just bonkers. WTF thought that was a good idea‽
It is fiddly but in another sense it keeps the camera flat on top in design. Just takes a bit of getting used to. 😁
Shoot Film Like a Boss they could have put in a flip up handle like in the old folders and box cameras. It would still have been flush.
Having to fiddle with a coin and relying on a slot that is going to get worn out is just idiotic.
Someone wasn’t thinking.
Bad design the wind on slot on will wear out and widen very quickly and the shutter if made from wood will expand and swell resulting in stuck shutter, those two issues for me make it a 100% no buy.Your other pinhole camera as both these problems removed from it's design.
I'll let you know next year Harry. Mind you, if a $100 pinhole camera lasts a year or so and you have had good use out of it then that can't be bad.
