The fatherless memes make me laugh because my dad literally has a sabertooth cat as an OC. His name is Razor and he's the father of my sona (obviously), and while he may not understand everything, he still supports me drawing him as a goofy cat.
I used to be an anti furry in middleschool. My friends used to tell me how bad furries supposedly are. I believed them every single word. One day I realised that I somehow felt way more comfortable playing games that had furry character. I tried to deny it for two years until I ended up becoming one myself. It‘s quite funny when I think about it now.
Good for you buddy, you did the right thing. Haters have never done any good for society so your choice to change earns you a massive W.

@@TheOfficalMiki This change was probably a good one, but it did bring along a few problems. Most of my friends still dislike or hate furries, which is why I haven‘t told most of them. From all those friends I told, only one did not make fun of me. The fact that I have to keep it a secret from my whole class, since they all hate furries is also quite unfortunate. Still, there were some people I knew online that accepted me. Those people really made me happy. While I may not have many friends, I do know which ones I can trust.

@@beamer8907 yeah, sadly many of my classmates don‘t like those who are different from the others. At the beginning of this school year many of my classmates complained that I was being too nice to others. Especially after hearing them making fun of furries quite often, it would be better if I just kept it a secret.
All it took was for me to follow one single furry account on twitter because i liked their art, after that, more and more accounts appeared in my feed, I learned more about the fandom, and here I am now.
Funny thing is, I wasn't an anti-furry, just a person with curiosity who happened to like Night In The Woods fanart..

I think it's cause many associate furries with p*dos and gr**mers, and while those DO exist in the fandom.. I wouldn't say it's an excuse to obsessively hate them. Most anti-furs are teens with how radically insane their behavior is.

This is true one of my friends that hated furries didn’t know I was a furry for a while but when he did he said wait would you be able to take me to a con, I laughed and said I know why you want to go there, but trusting him and just security actually being somewhat decent I got him there and after it was over he did nothing and actually had fun it was magical really and now he has his own fursuit and it’s a goat character it’s honestly the best thing that has happened and the funniest.

I literally stumbled into the furry fandom back in the 2000s. It was mostly thanks to online comics such as Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures... then I found Deviant Art, the rest is history.

So if I'm going to speak from experience, I was something of an anti-furry in my 20s. Was I secretly into the fandom? Fuck yes. But I knew about the reaction the group faced during that time period and didn't want to be seen as liking something that could get you bullied or harassed online or in real life. Most of this built up my own self-denial. This may sound odd, but I simultaneously looked at the content I secretly enjoyed in addition to trying to self-inflict my own disgust response.
My logic was "Oh, my friends don’t like this? Ok, how else can I be disgusted by this thing and distance myself from them [furries] so I can become closer with these groups of people [the edgy crowd], and be validated by them? How can I be seen as one of the winners and stay far away from the losers?" The sad truth? People in the edgy crowd were never my friends. They were a source of protection from me and my secret interests, making it easier to pretend that furries were gross.
What I've seen from a few anti-furries on UA-cam is pretty telling about their character: They engage with obsessive thinking and a compulsion to make content around one subject. One thing that I’ve noticed is that they target members of the furry community who are more open or obvious about their lifestyle like Odin, Fluke, Beta, Majira, Nos, Dukedoberman,
Friends have even joked in the past that the more someone hates something without reason, the more they’re likely into it. I too find it funny that antis are just as obsessed with the material they proclaim to be against even more than the fans of said material. Despite voicing their disgust and thinking about the negative perception of furries, they still need to look for material and have it lingering around to make fun of it. 100%, their goal is to make content around furries. The only way they do that is by looking at videos and pictures and pretending that it’s something they have to subject themselves to. More often than not, it’s just another way for people who are closeted/in denial while acting as furry haters, to freely look at furry content. “I’m not a furry, I just look for material so I can offend them.”
This is all like that Woody Allen joke from Annie Hall: a guy calls a psychiatrist and says “my brother’s a lunatic: he believes he’s a chicken.” The psychiatrist says, “well why don’t you turn him over to me and I can fix his problem?” And the guy replies “I can’t. I need the eggs.” What’s funny about that joke is that it not only refers to people who think they need to keep themselves engaged in a routine while knowing it’s crazy, you never know who’s crazier. The guy who calls the doctor is inadvertently telling on himself: my brother is insane, but I still need him and his delusions around. Then again, you tell me who’s crazier: the person who fantasizes/role plays about being a cartoon animal or the person who simultaneously condemns yet indulges in another person’s fantasy?

The Algorithm does make people unhappier in some ways, it tends to show people the things they are against. But as with the furry fandom, this can help to smooth things over between groups who are opposed only because of a lack of understanding. This is largely why censorship leads to less and less tolerance of different people and groups and ideas, and is why people and nations who adopt censorship tend to fall behind other countries that push for more tolerance despite the growing pains it causes.
If you’re comfortable, you’re not learning to deal with unfamiliar people and things. That’s at the core of so many hateful things- some people would rather stick fingers in their ears than listen to anything they don’t already like or agree with.
I was an anti-furry when I was younger for a weird reason. I was a brony at the time, and I had a friend group that did pony roleplay stuff on Steam group chats. I didn't know what furries were at the time. My friends started to make heir pony characters anthro. I was super weirded out by this, I was a purist, complaining that they should stay on four legs and not me 'humanized'. Then I learned what furries were, outside of the brony stuff. I was alright with the regular furries, but still stubborn about ponies being made anthro. Then I decided I like the funny dog people more, embraced being a furry, stopped caring about if ponies were anthro and at a certain point just sorta silently distanced rom the brony community, only being in the furry one.
Story Time!!:
When I was in my beautifully scary middle school years, I was a huge antifur. But as I did that weird thing we do called grow up, I started hanging out with furries around the second semester of 8th grade. Jump forward a few years, I go from straight anti-fur to gay furry. Life works in mysterious ways, especially considering how in my anti-fur stage, I loved furry art.

The Anti-Furry to Furry transition can be explained by your average zombie game on Roblox.
First, they start out as the "survivor" or Anti-Furry in this case, and after running around for a while, maybe trying to do what is intended as the "survivor", which is trying to attack the "infected" or Furries, or just running away.
After a while of attacking Furries online, eventually they're caught and infected themselves, and while the first couple times they get infected, they'll probably just switch back to the "survivor" team, they then start to stay longer, and longer, and longer on the "infected" team, until they finally mainly play on the "infected" team.
A summary would be the Anti-Furry first attacks online, then sees what Furries actually do, and then eventually becomes a Furry after enough time has passed while being exposed to Furry related content.
I already know that I'm eventually going to either reach the end of the pipeline, or be stuck right in the middle, so for now I'm currently attempting to slow down the progression of the pipeline for me as much as possible..

Hating something is fine. Everyone hates or likes something that not everyone agrees with you on. Antifurs feed on attention, the more attention you give them, the harder it will be to get rid of them because their ego is so high that they believe that anything different that someone thinks is inferior to them, not just the furries

@@Venenus_MCNone of these comments ever mentioned someone being straight beforehand. The anti fur could have been gay, or just gay in denial. The fandom is so open and accepting, it's not uncommon for people to realize they're gay or bi after they join the fandom.
As somebody who doesn't make "furry" content, I get a surprising amount of anti-furries on my stuff simply because my avatar is a dog. I've gotten to the point that whenever I get comments like "Ew furry" or "I want to watch but I don't want to watch furry content." I just respond by copy-pasting a recipe for Shrimp Salad because... how do you want me to respond my guy? It's a PNG of a dog, it doesn't even matter to anything I'm saying wh-??
Yeah. (As an anti-furry) I feel like only like, 25% of the anti-fur community actually understands what a furry is. Plus, majority of our community is...questionable.

I'm not furry but i like to make fun of each of the two communities, every community has his bad side but i think anti furry has gotten too far because their memes are no longer funny actually are not funny and sometimes cringe, same for furries but furries are less hateful and slightly more cringe, but like i said there are furries that are not cringe and actually are cool and anti furries that only want to make jokes about furries without harming anyone.
Most anti-furs' humor is g*re and being r*cist, which is like 14-year old humor at its peak. It's pretty sad, but I think the majority of people who don't like furries are actually pretty well-rounded in their views. Usually they are the more mature, older ones. Like uhh 21+.

i used to know haloguy7 personally (the anti furry meme compelation video) we had a relationship, even though i was a furry and 15, while he was 22. he used to be surounded by furries too; absolutely loving it. It was a online relationship, and he turned out to be VERY manipulative, saying that he was only a year older than me, making me feel bad so i would do stuff for him, and sometimes just make me feel bad and leave me to cope for myself. God i hate his guts, i want my childhood back..

I completely agree with the final message, but want to add on to it. The public likes ammunition to hate. If an anti-fur tells someone to off themselves, and you threaten them back, that gives anyone an excuse to hate furries even more. People tend to exaggerate often, and that can easily snowball into more bad looks shown to more people. Then there will be more threats to other furries. The best course of action would be to instead to support other furries. Its the only good option and will make the community tougher and connected!
