- I debated sharing this on any social platform. It seems a bit silly and dramatic but Jack has been a huge part of my life. He is my best little friend and my family. I have had Jack for literally half of my life so this one was hard. Last Friday we had to say goodbye to him forever. He has had a long good life and I am so blessed that he loved me so much. He was a goofball, a grumpy old man but boy did he love me with all that he had. This little only man has been struggling with a lot of health issues as of late. Cancer, Heart issues, and now an infection. I didn't want him to struggle anymore, I wanted him to go out when he was happy and not in overbearing pain or discomfort. So, be free my little one! Love you more than you know.
Thanks for always being a part of our journey. through the good and the bad. We are so grateful to have you guys here with us along the journey.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Jack has been with you half your life...on June 11 I had to make the same hard choice for my Charlie. Dogs are not our whole life, but they do make our life whole. I'm crying for you and with you. Jack had a good life with you. I love the way his back leg starts up when you rub his belly. You're absolutely doing the right thing. Sending you much love...

Thinking about you today as you walk this road, Crystal. Jack is part of why you are the person you are today, and I can think of no better memorial for him that speaks to his nature as your friend and loyal companion than to be carried in your heart and be a part of what makes you YOU. His journey in life has reached its conclusion, but it's a homecoming in a sense, because he's immortal in your heart, forever embedded in your experiences and past, and every time you help someone on their own journey, a little bit of Jack is expressed in the world again.

I am so very sorry. He will cross the rainbow bridge and will be at peace. My dog was 15 and we just put her down 4 months ago. They know that we love them and we need to make the best decision for them. Prayers with you and Jack

This is the worst part of owning a dog, or any pet, but there's something about saying goodbye to a dog that's just worse. I can't imagine life without one, but miss all the ones before. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Until you meet again old friend.

So sorry guys. Some of our dogs have lived to be 16+ years old and when you spend that much time with them they become a family member. It's always so heartbreaking to have to see them go.

hi, i’m crying watching your video. your jack looks very much like my memphis & born in the same year (2007). i still cry nightly. it’s a tough tough time, so be gentle on yourself. you’re not alone. know that you gave him a good life all the way until the end. the hardest decisions are the ones that are the best options sometimes. pet grief coping videos helped me cope w/the loss of my chihuahua.💚🙏

Awwww, i’m so sorry. I lived this last summer with my dog Sophie who is 15. I completely understand and my heart is broken for you guys! Jack had a great life and yours and his were much improved by having each other! ❤️

This made me cry, Crystal! I know this is bittersweet for you with sweet lil Jack! I have been blessed with many sweet fur babies who have been with me for years and some for only a little while. My daughter's first dog died in her arms on July 3rd. She was recently diagnosed with a tumor around the heart and put on meds. She thought she would have longer but it seemed to happen suddenly. She had her cremated & the funeral home did her paw print and put her remains in a beautiful box. This was the first time our family has lost a dog.

Losing a furry family member is heartbreaking. So sorry for your loss. I def know how you feel. My 13 yr old Yorkie was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last Oct. They only gave him up to maybe 9 months to live. After almost a year later we finally lost him on his terms. We wanted him to pass at at home, not in pain, and hopefully in his sleep. Everything pretty much went to plan. He just laid down early one Sunday and passed in his sleep. I will miss my little boy but I am fortunate I had him for 13 wonderful loving years with him. Again, so sorry for your loss. Peace.

Hardest thing I've ever done was putting down my dog. The easiest thing was realizing it was the humane thing to do. Sorry you had to make this choice. Stay strong.
