On Reacto's, well my one any it's a 4mm screw that holds the multi tool case to the underside of the seat, simple enough to unscrew the screw & remove the attached multi tool...,👍🏾
Thanks. I usually Zwift in the shed when it’s raining. Literally haven’t ridden the S3 since getting the Merida. The ride quality of the newer Merida is leagues ahead. Oh, and rim brakes in the wet, I won’t be doing that again in a hurry.
I am 183 and have M size (2021). It is still aggressive so if you want to have really comfy position I would recommend to take -1 size or even 2, you have to check it! I had L size in Specialized and L Merida was tooo big ;)
How are you finding the bike? I asked many shops how much it weighed they all said 8.2kg so I’m so confused as to why yours says 8.7 lol. Would 25-28mm tyre add that much more?
The bike has a smooth ride and feels like it holds speed well. Much less road buzz than the older Cervelo S3. Electronic shifting is great especially as you tire - you spend more time in the right gear instead of muscling through inclines. The bike is no featherweight though and you pay a weight penalty of about 0.4kg running SRAM Rival v a mechanical Ultegra setup. The lack of clarity around the bike’s weight was my main reason for making the video. I hope it’s useful for anyone looking at purchasing one. 28mm tyres do not add much weight over 25mm tyres (about 30g a wheel) and is likely offset by my upgrade to silicon inner tubes. The accuracy of the scales could be questioned but I’ve found them to be within 1% of any test weights I’ve tried. Note they showed a weight increase of 0.25kg when the pedals were added and the pedals have a spec weight of 248g - bang on the money! This bike in Medium size is noticeably heavier than the banded around 8.2kg.
Mmmmmm...,got the Merida Reacto 4000 disc 2021 with full 105 hydraulic group set with Ultegra clipless pedals & 25mm Continental Gp5000 tires that weights in at 8.92 kg.., ohh yeah the frame size is XL & overall a excellent bike..., 👍🏾
They are nice bikes to ride, smooth with no road buzz and hold higher speeds well. The SRAM Rival groupset with power meter is over 3kg but it’s a penalty I consider worth it for the benefits of electronic shifting. Will change to TPU inners, from latex, next year for 0.1kg saving #marginalgains 🙄
Hi Ken how did you manage to remove the multi tool v box from the saddle?

Sorry, I don’t recall exactly how I did it. I think I just prised it out.
I was wrong, the other poster is correct. There is an screw to remove on underside of the saddle.
Lovely bikes. Which one do you ride if its raining?

@jadeswojecc thanks a lot~!! I decided S size!!
I’m 178cm and the Medium is too big for me, I should have gone for the Small.
@@kenclark2055 i think i will get the small at 178cm

20 years ago, we laughed at anything over 8 kilos on bikes that were 5x cheaper
