JOHNNY OLSON'S VOICE IS SO RECOGNIZABLE. I CAN STILL HERE HIM SAYING "FROM THE SUNSHINE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD MIAMI BEACH" FOR THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW.
JOHNNY OLSON IS A LEGEND.
I always loved Kitty Carlisle. She seemed so excentric and highly intelligent.
She was a great woman and devoted twenty years of her life as a volunteer to the Arts Council Of New York!
This show was taped at NBC's Studio 6A at Rockefeller Center, the same studio where they did Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show". The first three years of the series was at CBS' Studio 50 before they moved where this show was taped.
I agree with Kitty. This idea of the first contestant was a total disgrace!
I agree with Peggy too!
Kitty shrank to about 5 feet tall towards the end of her long, illustrious life. Before that she was a statuesque 5 feet 6 inches tall.
That opening bit had me wondering if the first guest was an expert on sexual harassment.
thanks for posting
Love Garry!!!! You ain’t Jon Hamm but damn that skit was funny.
That was beautiful picture of #2 the airline stewed.
In 1971, I guess only men drove on highways and only women shopped in supermarkets. It's really hard not to feel that the opening skit and first round are just one big prank on the audience.
What I hate about these later episodes, is how the producers tried to "freshen" up the show. It got canceled anyway. Seems to me that when you have a formula that works, stick with it to the end!
Wonder if Goodson-Todman got a few letters over this.
Lichtenstein got this not-so-original idea from a 1959 issue of Mad Magazine.
Gene Rayburn wearing glasses. Yeah!!!
Their respective initials:
Garry Moore ............ G.M.
Gene Rayburn........... G.R.
Peggy Cass .............. P.C.
Bill Cullen ................. B.C.
Kitty Carlisle ............. K.C.
Alibi tapes- soooo high tech- for 1971!
wowza!! it's hard to believe that would be so blatant about wanted to deceive not your SPOUSE but your WIFE!!!!!!
Panel:
Gene Rayburn, Peggy Cass, Bill Cullen & Kitty Carlisle.
2:40 Our Inventive Panel here on To Tell The Truth
Could you PLEASE share TTTT Episode #1133 from the 1971-72 season? Thank you very much!
Aw, like women don't cheat.
OMG
Wow this would never fly now
I guess Ashley Madison Company wasn't first with this idea
Love the intro. Metooera are boohooing badly!
That intro sketch was awkward as hell.
George Alexander Damn funny though. Great invention!!! But could you get away with this now???
Ridiculous...and sleazy! I agree with Peggy and Kitty!!!
"William lawrence francis cullen the first host of the price is right the legendary game-show-host & panelist professor yes n no himself bill-cullen"🇮🇪🇺🇸.
You should go to the funny farm.

Very awkward questioning by Peggy Cass of the airline stewardess Asking if young men would get disappointed that the airline stewardess was 65 years old!Shame on you Peggy!
#MeToo
YOU COULD NEVER DO THIS TODAY THE SHOW WOULD BE OFF THE AIR. RACIAL AGAINST WOMEN. HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED.
"Gene-rayburn the legendary host of match-game the legendary game-show that created old man periwinkle weird-willie dumb-donald-trump & dumb-dora".
Everyone connected with this program would have been fired... and possibly jailed... if this bizarre opening was produced today. I'm no defender of over-the-top political correctness, but this attempt at humor went WAY too far.
Number 2 Lichtenstein has the WORST rug ever
I can’t help but be amazed at what was allowed to hit the air when I was a kid.
And what was the norm back then, too!
