Retired missionary, author, terminal cancer survivor graduates to independent living

After getting a terminal cancer diagnosis, retired missionary and author Ruth Wiertzema spent time in a nursing home before making a miraculous recovery.
From there, she lived at the Society in assisted living and is now graduating to independent living at Good Samaritan Society - Luverne in Minnesota.
Ruth says, “A faith-based organization sees life differently. It’s not just a place. It’s a home for everybody. I had no idea about the facilities that are here and the workers that are gracious and accommodating and care for people.”
