This heavily armored repulsorlift transport has one simple, but important job. The MTT must get as close to the enemy front lines as it can to then safely deploy nearly fifty battle droids. The slow heavy vehicle was rarely targeted due to its strong armor and light armaments. Once the droids are on the ground however, the large influx of troops can overwhelm an enemy force.
This model can house five droid minifigures as pilots and controllers. It can also hold forty-eight folded droid minifigures in a storage rack which can transform into deployment mode.

These are the sets I wish LEGO would do. I know UCS is already a thing, but the extra detail packed into these and the more advanced building techniques used is just incredible, and makes the building experience much better than a normal UCS set.
Lego should start a line of 18+ collectors sets, like UCS but minifigure scale only

I was gonna comment "finally, an MTT with a fully technic deployment bay, it only took 23 years!" but saying that would undermine how all-out Caleb went engineered this design. The deployment mechanism is not only cool, but also excellently engineered. I've never seen a Star Wars MOC that has used technic this advanced, with three separate movements being controlled by one knob, as well as working in a safety stop to prevent the functions from being moved in ways that would break the model. Not only that, but the system had to be extremely compact to allow infrastructure for all the angles. This model is a whole new leap for Lego Star Wars MOCs, and I think it may be BV's best offering yet. The detail and functionality without compromise has raised the bar to new heights.

The 2007 MTT will forever be my favorite LEGO Star Wars set, and this to me just looks like the next step up. And it's close in price to what people want for a sealed 7662 MTT!
The 2007 MTT was amazing for $90 at the time. I miss when lego made sets like that.
The one i had, did have a tendency for pieces to fall off.. but man was it fun tl build
.. i wisj lego renting was a thing.. like borrowing a high end set for a substantially lower proce just to build it.
That is truly the best engineering feat I have witnessed in lego. The sight of this and the AAT together is a picture perfect match. Amazing job!
You have GOT to be absolutely kidding me!!!! This is beyond any feat of design I've seen to date. Time and time again I've said it: the BEST designers and builders don't even work for Lego. The guys at Lego are, at the moment upon seeing this, are banging their heads against a table. SIMPLY. AMAZING. 👏

As somebody who loves to collect Lego Battle Droid sets, this would make an awesome model for me someday.
This model is almost cheaper than the official LEGO MTT sets. People are scalping them for over $1000. You could build this for around $800 and it looks much better and more acurate.

This is so friggin cool. The MTT set was the first lego gift I ever received so this one's definitely close to the heart. Epic build. Cheers to Caleb and those that helped design and test this

This has always been the lego set that I wanted the most since I saw the first version as a kid. There is something so cool about it deploying a droid army.
YESSS!!! I've been waiting for this MTT for so long, and it certainly does not disappoint! Now we have a beautiful (and functional!) definitive MOC of one of my favorite SW war vehicles!
*Wow I am highly amazed by seeing this Moc! The 7662 MTT from 2007 itself is one of the greatest Sets that LEGO brought out ever, but this MOC offers even better playability and that Droid Rack is wonderful!*

We all have waited years for a MTT and now we finally got it!
Yeah it’s cool but honestly it’s kinda unfortunate that (having built it) it relies on a lot of awkward single stud connections that have to hold up a lot of weight. It suffers greatly from part leprosy. Idk I like it but I had to go back and redesign a fair chunk of it so that it would not fall apart. Particularly the droid rack. If you get it, be prepared to have to rebuild the plates that fall off as you add new pieces.

The angles are very accurate, would've been nice to get alternative build clone wars version with blue and light gray because these reddish brown colored bricks are known to crack easily with older batches.

Imagine if lego made ucs sets like this. Instead of a giant model they could make a super detailed minifigure incorporated ucs set.
It’s about time someone made an MTT with a working droid rack! It’s not perfect, but more than forgivable considering the accuracy of the rest of the model. Amazing model.

Amazing design! Maybe it is too much too ask, but the Separatist Version of the MTT would make this model beyond perfect, but it already is absolutely crazy.

Holy cow, at first my plan was I'm gonna build a green warship destroyer class, and name it Drax. Maybe put his head at the top of the ship, yes, Drax the destroyer. But now, I'm gonna build this instead.

just the fact that it holds nearly a lore accurate number of battle droids at a time is enough to satisfy me
One of the flaws of the B1 MTT was deploy time. This rack basically solves that issue while also keeping the number up.
This makes it really hard to resist getting back into lego

Fantastic MOC!! I personally hate the MTT. Although the MTT looks awesome, it's design is terrible. If the door would go up instead of hinge up, you would have extra armour on top and the guns are blocked when unloading/unloaded. Halfway up would be way more useful.
Considering how slow the unloading process is I don't think it is meant to unload where the enemy can see it. And thus it doesn't matter if its guns are blocked. Ofcaurse this itself is a design flaw, as is haveing so many droids in a single transport, especially that you are forced to expose them all even to deploy only a few.
As for sliding up vs hinged up? Real tanks use hinges, not slides, for doors, hatches, etc, because irl that allows more armour.
They should hire you guys and make an Advanced UCS series
