🌴So I’m glad y’all had a good time , I use to live in the snow country moved to Florida half my life ago , and never been back , when your here all the time you kinda get acclimated and take things as everyday, it’s when I see a vid like yours that it reminds me of the tropical paradise I live in and fly fish in all the time , the glades is still a primitive area that nature reminds you what it was a long time ago, you can get lost in it’s beauty, or you can just get lost . But it’s one of the places that once you’ve been there you’ll never forget it , it become engraved in your memory, and it calls you back . I love fishing in the mangroves and skinny water and I can’t even imagine doing anything else for the rest of my old azz life , there’s always a chance to up grade your PB fish , and some how arm wrestling a pipe dream 200 lb poon on a fly rod to complete my bucket list might not happen , but I’ll do it till I can’t ,I almost feel sorry ya didn’t get to stay longer but you’ll be back, that big poon is waiting for ya , and when it gets off you’ll say ! “ it was Huge ! “ 👈🏼🤣
I never comment on YT but this is the Hugest Huge video on the Huge channel (and I have watched them all) and I just had to say something! I live just a couple hours from the everglades entrance and fish it many many times a year. Finding the fish can be like going to hell and back but it is worth it. It is such a special place and you did it justice with this video. Lets keep the glades HUGE!
No need to be a dick bud. His 1st fish on the fly doesn't have to be a monster. You gonna go pick on a kid catching bluegills and tell him to chase tuna and marlin?@@UnhingedFlyFishing
@@UnhingedFlyFishing Gophuck Yaself. Man just sharing his new love and positivity and you acting like he can’t enjoy things. Ya mama a large mouth and knows about 14inchers.
Welcome to the cult. I mean. Club. Yeah, the club. Smallmouth are a special addiction. As the old saying goes, "When you hook a largemouth, they are scared. When you hook a smallmouth, they are _angry."_
Light Bulb is the best saltwater fly I’ve ever used. Tom does a great job tying them. Just returned from Alaska and caught everything from Pike to Grayling on that pattern.
Haven’t caught tarpon on fly but have on spinning gear. It’s counterintuitive but you need to point your rod at them when they jump and give them some slack. You bow to the king.
Awesome. I was down there last week and did only two days. Maybe I saw you out there? :) The rains apparently made the Tarpon a bit more picky was still managed to hook a few. I'll be making that a yearly trip for sure
I found myself laughing along with you as you hooked fish! Such a fun video. You didn't want to touch the tarpon??? I probably would have... Thanks for sharing!
I’m not anywhere near a pro but I know that you can put your rod tip in the water when you have a lot of slack which will create drag and put tension on the fish. Hope this helps some people. 👍
@@bensmithmyer4048 that’s what I’ve heard, figured a 100lb+ tarpon on an 8wt would be the fight of your life and you’d have to chase it down in a boat for an hour

You must bow grasshopper! The first back country take was bananas! Man, this was a good video.

I love "blank casting" lol! Seriously though, hooking up when you can't see on the strip is such great feeling :)

Gorgeous Tarpon! I'm exhausted just watching you fight it!
That was a lot of fun to watch. It was a smile maker. Thanks, Ben.

Late to the party but sweeet video, dude. Brooks hammering it out with some crazy locations!
6:42 I see that Kyle is rubbing off on you.
Nothing beats salt water fly fishing. A 23 inch stocked brown trout? Lol.
Great video!!! I would love to see you fishing for Argentine Dorado in the upper Parana
Amazing trip, thanks for sharing.
Can't deny the joy.
Bow to the silver king when he jumps!
Awesome trip! What gear you use?
Congrats dude !
Really good video. Semi normal people doing semi normal things rather than the BS many videos have. Where did you stay?

I was smellin my fingers yesterday after landing some jacks on the beach!
Hey free fly fishin trip on my skiff lol i live on the charlotte harbor
What weight fly rod you using for the big tarpon? Trying to see how far I can stretch my 8wt!
10wt is pretty standard for tarpon… sometimes more for BIG ones

I fished with “anonymous” in the same location December 2021. Great time!
Triple Tail!
What weight rod are you using for tarpon?
11
Do you reel right in big fish and left when you target smaller fish?
All of my reels are RHR
Alright that’s it I’m booking a Florida trip
Looks like a fun tax write-off, I mean trip.
yo sweet vid! Just put up my newest vid fly fishing shad on the umpqua, big inspo 🙏
"A grouper"...tripletail 😅
Noice.
Teach a man to fish, and you get rid of him for four days.
….because he’ll sit in a boat and drink beer all day! 🍻
