It's pretty rare I go to a camera review video and just get totally into the shots the vlogger is creating. This video did that! And in many ways, showing how easy and intuitive the Canon camera is to use is the best review possible. Stellar lighting work and composition. Atmospheric and compelling images!
Been using this setup for years, I have 3! EOS 1N paired with brand new glass is a beautiful combo. I recently just put together a new book from a two year project shooting with this setup.
I’ve fallen out of love with film photography but this video really brought the passion back. It’s like the clear digital and function style with the grain that makes it feel more real
Remember seeing this camera 15 years ago and immediately falling in love with the design. There was no better looking Canon camera ever since. I'd also risk saying no Nikon comes close to looking this good!
Elan 7IIE mentioned we are soo lit! Linus this video is amazing. There’s a little bit of an unwarranted stigma against these beautiful Canon SLRs and it’s dope you’re showing how amazing they are!
I’ve always wondered how these really cool Canon Film yet Digital looking cameras shot. The way you utilized + explained its function has me already finding the one I’m gonna purchase to experiment with, I love how you use the DJ Light continuously and everytime still bring different feelings and scenarios out of a moment, appreciate this one Linus ✨
The 1N is excellent. I picked up a barely used 1N-HS for $320AUD with a roll of Ektar 100 in it a few months ago. Chucked my 50mm f1.4 on there and shot the roll over a couple of months, what a beautiful camera with perfect results. Feels almost identical to use when compared to my 5D II and 90D - it just has that Canon quality of excellence and logical controls.
I was given a 620 many years ago and it's become my workhorse 35 camera! I shoot it with a 28 f2.8 for travel stuff (it's sharper than the f1.8) and I absolutely love it :D super easy to use, dirt cheap to buy, battery seems to last literally forever and I can use all my L glass!!
I've not picked up my EOS 3 much since starting to carry my Mamiya 6. You're making me want to take it out again. Would use Delta 3200 at 6400 with my 50mm 1.4. Was incredible for street at night.
This is fantastic stuff! Some (most... no, wait... ALL) of those shots are none short of amazing! And now I really wanna go shoot double exposures with my cameras as well. Thanks for sharing Linus!
Anytime I go to a film meet up with my EOS 3 people always ask if I brought a film camera or if I shoot film. Then I flip the EOS 3 to the backside and show them that I did indeed bring a film camera.
Yup a classic. Love this camera. You can get the original Eos 1 from 1989 for half the price which is virtually identical. I have both and they work as well as the day they were made.

Nice shots! Gotta flag that EOS 600 series and a few other models of early EOS models have a sticky shutter. If theres a shiny oily substance on the shutter blades then you may only get half the shot coming out. I loved the 600 build but got through 3 copies before just giving up and going with the 5 and 300. The 5 has its own thing with the mode dial having a glass cylinder inside that can shatter if you don't hold the lock button down every time you use it.

Nice work. Bringing that light was a smart idea. I don't know what you consider cheap but the only cheap EOS 1's I saw just now are either being sold in Japan or they are for parts of have something missing. Cheap to me would be under $100 in working order. I have several of the Canon EOS series. My alltime favarite is the EOS a2. I am on my 4th one.
Don't dismiss parts cameras. A lot of people don't know how they are supposed to work they press a button and give up. I bought a parts Eos1 for £20 and all it needed was a fresh battery. Works perfectly.
The Nikon F4 has a double exposure more and I really should use it more often tbh. I shoot sports with 2 Canon R6's and I have been wanting to get a EOS with AF so I can shoot more sports with film and my big lenses vs my Nikon 20mm f2.8. Great video as usual Linus!
