It bl**dy works, all these YTs are great and produce what is, modern content, content we want to watch in their own right, and are/becoming the new hero’s around cars, if I ever meet these guys I want an selfie, it’s celeb status in fact. But having a meet up from time to time to do this fun stuff, works so well, and has a great nostalgic feel to it at the same time, that we all know and love, well done mr Collins making it happen!

I think the F1 car must have used different tires and if you check the mot history it has upgraded brake pads. 1 min 45 is very fast
Some of these would be old Gambon corner. New Gambon would be slightly faster times. I wish we had a measure of how much faster the newer Gambon corner is, I am guessing 0.2-0.4s
How come the BBC can't replicate the old magic, yet UA-cam once again delivers some epic viewing. I've not laughed so much through a lap of Dunsfold in years. Watching the OG Stig teach these boys the lap is pure nostalgia . I can't wait for another dose of this . 10/10 A*+

I Alex kowaliuk believe the old magic was the edgy conservative guys that started that show , Nobody will ever be able to mimic that exact experience because that time is gone it's no longer accepted to be a man.
They should hire Ben Collins as the new lead presenter for Top Gear immediately and pay him lots of money.
The real problem is and I’m sure Ben could say it as well even though he won’t because the BBC would probably sue him for it but the politics of BBC can’t do much right now a days let alone make another epic show like TopGear

No Ben Collins makes good interesting videos UA-cam could never kill off live schedule TV I can't believe people actually stupid enough to think that. Also one of the glaring problems with UA-cam videos even Ben Collins or drivetribe is there all too short this particular video was perfect the way it was. But it would never replace the level of interest that a program like top gear or grand tour producers. At the end of the day whilst kids nowadays like all these short tiktok videos they are short live and they won't live on end of story because people want programs that last more than 12 minutes

But please as well as these short videos for normal people that have a brain and concentration span can you make some actual programs that are longer than 12 15 minutes. And don't discount television television will never die it will always be more popular than the internet. And I'm sure you could get a TV series which is what you need and what we need. Because UA-cam videos whilst being amazing I generally not as well produced and way way too short. Because you make such interesting videos it's incredibly frustrating that they are too short

The only silver lining of TG being cancelled is BC being able to make videos at Dunsfold with the Liana using all the original camera angles. I cannot wait for more content like this 😃

Actual proof that a certain program was all downhill when they got rid of this format. So happy to see some laps in the reasonably priced car on THIS track again! I hope this channel absolutely blows up because with a budget we could be seeing some seriously great car content again.

Did Matt go around the actual track though without cutting corners etc? It seems fairly evident that the way he was driving he was leaving seconds on the track suggesting that the old leader board isn't really comparable. In fact I'd be willing to bet at least 75% of the difference between this pairs laps were down to the self evidently "just about to die" engine the first car had. Ben kept telling him he was in 5th and he was saying the car had no power...then they swapped and it died completely.
UA-cam just pulled up the Nigel Mansell lap - 1.44.6. Mat was obviously seriously quick.

Matt is up there above everyone on the standard board, and within a hair of many of the worlds best drivers for dry lap times.
Considering he suffered in a few places from the faulty brakes, and never got that 2nd to last corner right, his time is seriously impressive. This kind of challenge levels the playing field, and Matt clearly has the mindset to compete at the top. Well done Matt.

It’s been a great couple days on UA-cam. Yesterday we got Mythbusters-like collaboration from Adam Savage and today we get the Liana on the Top Gear test track with The Stig.

I'm sure MA should have had a 10 sec penalty there for 'leaving the track and gaining an advantage' All 4 wheels were definitely over the white line.
I policed him - his best lap was bona fide but we didn't show every camera angle for each lap etc but we had data
I must have done this circut a thousand times on Forza 4 back in the day and have seen every episode of TG. This was so fun to see the little Suzuki go around again. It would be amazing to see this become a regular feature on the channel!

I bought so many cars for my friends who ran a hostel for homeless guys. I used to buy their cars. I left to move to the UK, when I got back to OZ they picked me up in this car but a hatchback, same colour.

1:52 ain't bad, I seem to remember a lot of the celebs back in the day did a 1:51 (including Clarkson, although in fairness he had 2 other people in the car). 1:44 is pretty phenomenal though, quicker than some F1 drivers

Amazing series potential Ben, would love to see the Auto Alex group on, (Alex, Taylor, Tom lenthal, TDC etc..) it’s strange, I never particularly liked the interview sections of the original show, but with you hosting it’s given me nostalgia for the track and angles, yet improved on the original format, Long live The Sitg, Dunsfold, and the Liana

Man these guys are lucky. I used to religiously watch top gear when it was on tv and I always dreamed of driving this car around this track with the Stig
