I played this for my guitar recital to graduate as part of my repertoire. This was the only piece I felt a close connection with simply because of how beautifully it was composed. To me, the transitions from minor to major throughout the piece portrays the ups and downs in life with the tremolo being the constant and continuous breaths that we take. And last but not the least, the piece ends on a "major key"(positivity prevails) . Tarrega was a Legend.

Just WOW ... four reasons: one: here, you prove your advice on an even tremolo. Two: you overcome the fretboard to produce an always legato, easily separated, melody line in both voices; three--What flow! ... no discernible position sound breaks! Three: the thumb/bass line stands so clear. And four: the treble then becomes so easy to listen to, separately and harmonically. Okay, and five: your (if-I-dare) rubato endows greatness to the piece that I've always hoped for. WOW, bravo! . . . .

One instrument and a divine player. Shows what we've truly missed in the era of DAWs and synthesized music, without any soul. Brandon is our figurative lodestar who shows what great music from the far ages is truly the panacea to our yearning soul.. Brandon is truly doing God's work here.

The way that Spaniards play the guitar is unique, for the simple fact that they don't play the guitar with their hands, they play it with their heart, and when one begins to learn to play the Spanish guitar, it is understood. You not only have to learn to touch it, but to understand it as if it were part of your body. A great greeting from a Spaniard, a very good video with a lot of passion !! I recommend that you see a lot of Paco de Lucia, the greatest guitarist there has been on earth at a level higher than anyone you can ever see. Greetings and blessings!

I attended a boarding school for gifted kids in my youth and my roommate was a musical prodigy that knew all these beautiful classical pieces and always seem to win all the school talent competitions.
He practiced every day and so he inspired me to get my first guitar and learn. He was only 14 years old but was willing to teach me.
I played until my fingers bled and I eventually developed the callouses like him.
He taught my fist piece (Bouree In E Minor by Bach), I eventually went on to learn “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” when I fell in love with the piece on the very first listen. Such a haunting but beautiful melody, a moderately difficult piece due to the tremolo technique but I persisted and developed the intuition and rhythm 🎵 for it.
Well that was over 40 years ago and I don’t play as much these days but I still know this piece today by heart and never lost my fascination with it.
