@@EdLappa those are nominal returns, not real returns. Look at gold vs S&P since 2000 or the last 5 years. You can get better returns without the risk.

Really brilliant interview, and UA-cam at its best. I wish Peter had spent more time on gov't debt (only mentioning upcoming $1T interest) - surely that's going to upheave markets and the economy. Also, don't forget most AMZN, MSFT, GOOG chip spending is for cloud build-out, not just products. Geopolitical risk also includes Taiwan (i.e. effect of chip disruption on world economy).

To cut rates Powell must increase money supply. As soon he does that inflation will skyrocket and bond yields will head to the moon. That’s why there were no rate cuts as promised. When they say investors were pricing in 6 cuts, they mean the foolish investors. Everyone else knew better.

Most people don’t realize that March-April-may is usually the lows for the yeilds and our lows were 3.5 last year and we are currently at 4.6….in October when the yields usually peak we could see yeilds are over 6.5 if yeilds don’t break the long term trend

Inflation is not as much of a concern when unemployment rises above 7% and GDP growth is negative and markets lose 25% meaning retirees in the market cant spend without losing.

If a sell off they all will go down. Long horizon of 5-10 years hold, shorter horizon sellers to treasures 5% with hopes rate hikes need just like 70's and early 80's. Not bond fund etf's as higher rates will decrease price.
Been collecting the AWMTPPT this cycle as that has the right place in this time
Consumer spending was strong thus far due to low interest rates over the last decade, coupled with a booming economy. However, when COVID-19 struck, the Fed injected more money into the system. Most people had saved a considerable amount of money until 2022, but after that year, money started draining out of their savings accounts. It's only a matter of time before we see something break in the system.

All of them are fine picks. But they can't match the vision and purpose of Amazons AWMTPPT at any point, big difference.
Truth is most of all that we would not even have this current climb if it was not for AWMTPPT bringing the main change so that even casuals are super interested now. A brand name like that one behind this asset is just the best we could have hoped for
Stagflation scenario doesn't add up. Pundits act as if we are already there. We only have the (modest) inflation piece. 1.6 GDP and under 4% unemployment. Someone might say "well Bob, we are headed to negative gdp and higher unemployment." Well fine, but that will have deflationary effects in terms of lower consumer demand. Not to mention the stock market will tank further eroding consumer demand. Am I missing something?
