I usually find all creatures beautiful in some way. Back in college I would rhapsodise about the simple perfection of the flatworm, when viewed under a microscope, to anyone that would listen. ( I’m a nerd ) but this Batfish has got me riding the struggle bus. It is very unique. And different . And that red is really, really red ( sigh) . ❤

The red-lipped batfish was described in 1958, not 1985. And they don't tuck their legs under them to swim, as the video clearly showed.

The red lips would only stand out if there are enough photons (@ that depth) of red wavelengths to bounce off them. Otherwise, essentially black.
