The Capital of Denkyira in 1620 was Abank3se3so not Jukwaa. The people of Denkyira moved to Jukwaa after 1818, immediately after the Asante-Gyaman War.
@@philipagyeipeprah1694 Denkyira fought that war for the Confederacy. After the victory they were bewildered by Denkyira's bravery and so plotted to kill Denkyirahene. So Denkyirahene gathered the Denkyiras(those who wanted to move) and they left for Dwokwa abondoning their ancient capital, Abankesieso
The deeper I delve into Ghanaian Akan history, the more I discover that the Ashantis may have been overrated over the years in Ghana. They are, in essence, just like any other tribe in Ghana. However, their prominence increased notably due to their alliance with the British. The Ashantis were involved in the sale of more coastal people, such as the Ga-Dangbe and Fante groups, to the Danes, Portuguese, and Catholics than all the overripe tomatoes at Mokola Market. As the saying goes, 'empty barrels make the most noise.
We had the Gold Coast and the Asante Empire at that time and they fought the British for over 100 years as written in the books by the whites who were part of it at that time. They fought for the independence of this country. Jealous and envied towards Asantes will last forever but we keep growing. We have done a lot for this country, building the first University in the country (legon). Anyone who doesn't appreciate will never be appreciated. FACTS
Ashantis have a good preservation history. No wonder they're known around the globe. Kudos to the Ashantis.

Funtumfunafu denkyɛmfunafu is a typical representative of Akans today, they are the same people but they always quarrel
Exactly what we are still doing today. Fighting among ourselves for no reason. The same behavior led us into colonization
