    Some more tips:
The plants love sheep poo as a fertiliser.
Don’t pick off the plants, wait until the fruit has dropped to the ground.
When the fruit started going wrinkly, that is when it is at it’s sweetest and most ripe. Don’t throw them away just because they are going wrinkly, that’s the best time to eat them.
If you live where it is not tropical, you can still grow them. Just put them in a greenhouse or against a sun-facing fence, then make a covering of clear tarpaulin or greenhouse plastic. Where we live it snows in winter, it’s winter now and fruit is still dropping. We have clear tarpaulines on a frame over them to protect them from the frosts and they are going strong.

My passion fruit suffer from burn tips. Can you please give me some advice how to deal with this.

It is possible that it may need a deep watering. Use a slow gentle stream of water for roughly one hour. This will allow the water to penetrate deeper and not be lost to surface evaporation

Derica I wonder if y’all may able to extend the lives of your vines if y’all were to prune them back immensely after awhile. Here in Texas they get get knocked back with our freezes and come right back indefinitely or what seems like indefinite. Also do y’all have the Gulf Frittilary Butterfly in Florida? Their host plants are passiflora and you see them all the time on our Maypops, Incense and Foetidas.

I don’t know how much I would have to cut back to replicate a freeze scenario but I do plan on trimming them rather severely after they are done fruiting. As far as the butterfly goes, it does look like some of our visitors. I’m afraid I’m not very good at butterfly identification. I see a butterfly and I’m happy. 🤓

Thanks for teaching me about passion fruit. Your gardening videos are so informative, unfortunately for me I live in New England where I lack a yard and plants like this don't thrive.

I have passion fruit wild all over my 6+ acres in NC but the fruit never seems to ripen. I thought it might be an ornamental variety?? When I pick a fruit it has a thin wall and it’s kind of fibrous inside… the flowers are beautiful. Is the plant just old?? Please tell me what you think. Thank you. I’m sure I was picking them ‘green’. How do you know when they’re ripe?

Passion fruit are fully ripe when they drop from the plant. As you aren’t sure what your particular plant is, I would recommend caution. There are over 500 species with only a small number that produce edible fruit. If you can get your particular plant identified, that might be best.

It is nice to see you growing so many nice things. Makes me jealous!. Used to live in Jacksonville and grew Cayennes, corn, okra tomatoes, potatoes, Sugar Cane, just tons of stuff. Now, in Oregon, the things I love to eat are much harder to grow. Down to onions, potatoes and garlic. Herbs do pretty good here.
What I'm wanting to know is: When are you going to make passion fruit mead/wine???
Also, do you grow sugar cane? Because crushed juice might be another Wine/Mead.

Yes, we will be brewing with the passion fruit, but that is another channel. ;) It can be difficult as a gardener when you move. It is always best to grow what grows best in your area to avoid complications. That said, if you have the space and resources, you can grow some of the heat and humidity loving plants in a green house. We don't have enough space left to grow sugar cane. Thanks for watching!

mum grew these and strawberries i loved it on home made icercream, in the garden it was a competition between me and the venomous baby snakes (dugites) to who ate the strawberries. looks like you guys live in a food jungle, man my sisters acre block was like that , it always took me half an hour to me it to her front door, so many stone fruit and tropical fruit only one mouth LOL, the Worst part was they let all that beautiful fruit just go to waste they ate fast food etc , have you grown ginger or turmeric i love them and the benefits that i get from eating and juicing them, kinda firey!!! juice though

Yes on the turmeric. I even have a video on how I make my own home grown turmeric powder. It is so much better than store bought in my humble opinion. That is a shame about your sister's fruit. I hope this video brought back some happy memories for you. Thank you for watching!

@@PlantLifeYT once i watched a science show on the active ingredients in herbs they showed chopped dried herbs held far more active/medicinal ingredients where powdered herbs through exposure to the air (oxidation) lost almost all their medicinal qualities. ive seen chinese practitioners only use chopped dried herbs , here in town, our md is also chinese he does the same, our town has a high cancer rate monsanto chemicals in the air, farming town, so thats the reason the md drinks these powerful chinese anti cancer detox teas. i use the organic ground stuff too but just for flavoring , i juice raw turmeric and ginger in a cold press juicer, remember that old johnny cash song LOL, ginger it has a kick LOL.
