Last few layers I have tried on lemon and lime trees, both ends where the bark is removed just heals over and develops callus and not roots. Any advice or reason?

As per my experience, the main reason for that was : After you cut the bark of the branch you need to cleaned, scraped off the sap/ cambium layer (Sap is a fluid transported in xylem cells (vessel elements or tracheids) or phloem sieve tube elements of a plant. These cells transport water and nutrients throughout the plant.). Have to make sure you did that. Good luck if you want to try again.
yeah I gave it a really good scrape all over the area, maybe need to try and cut it a bit deeper at both ends or give it a better scrape right up under the edges. Hopefully it works one day or I just go spend $30 a bunnings 😂

Je pose la question parce que j'ai vu tellement de vidéos asiatiques avec multiplication de citrus qui réussissaient très bien et en peu de temps. Alors je me demande quel espèce de citrus tu utilises. Là ou je vis (bassin méditerranéen Afrique du nord), à part le citronnier (citrus x lemon), les autres espèces telles l'oranger (Citrus x sinensis), le mandarinier (Citrus x reticulata), le clémentinier (Citrus × clementina) etc...sont difficiles à multiplier par bouturage notamment, même avec de l'hormone de bouturage et pendant l'été. Merci.
