I love listening to great racing stories like this one! It's awesome to hear he ran a 427 Ford,& a 427 cammer in his cars! I've been living in GA for almost 6 years now, I'm only about 14 miles from Jefferson. I never knew they once had a dragstrip there. The new Willys is simply amazing! I can't imagine the hours & money it took to build this dream car! It's still Ford powered too! His dad is 10 years older than me,I hope he's still in good health. I'd love to meet them sometime! Thank you for this great video & the narration! I lived in IN most of my life. Raced at Bean Blossom, I imagine it was like so many other local tracks around the country. Also Muncie, IN,which was a much nicer dragstrip. Attended many US NATIONALS in Indy, over several decades.❤
Awesome story it's amazing the talent it took to run them old cats this man was blessed with the hand eye and foot coordination the AMERICAN dream his family came along and he did what most of that generation did family came first great story thank you for sharing it 👍😎👍
The 1941 Willys has always been my most favorite hot rod / drag car... From KS Pitman to Woods Stone & Cook tu these cars are the true essence of old school Gasser drag racing.
Great car ! Great episode ! As a kid growing up in the 60s, I loved drag racing. the cars, and the drivers, so I really enjoy stories like this one. That Willys is a real beauty!
Engine swap is forgiveable....whole theme of the buildit works...Bet it still runs real hard . Gorgeous build the finish on those rear hoops are outstanding. wow
As a fan of the old movie "Hot Rod" Id have to sand it down and spray can primer it to make it my dream car but I guess I could "live" with it the way it is.........😉👍 (I am kidding of course) Neat to see old movies of it....most guys are lucky to have even an old photo of their car
I really enjoyed learning about the Cat Skinner, the Hemi Hurricane, and the Moonlighter. I'd love to see you do another feature on a different Willys coupe!!!
Pretty cool piece of history. I own the palm Lazarus b and c gas 40 Willys coupe out of Chicago. This car looks really similar to what mine looked like from 62-early 70s
Great video. That car is absolutely beautiful. The paint, wheels and chrome are incredible. Not a big fan of the motor, as I am really "old school" or maybe just "OLD" Thanks for the great back story
The car is, as you said, a show-stopper. But the story---man you can tell a story! Absolutely loved this one. And by the way, if you are discussing a make of car, it is pronounced "Willis" as you did. But if you are talking gassers, it is 100% a "Willees". LOL!
Hopefully with that powerplant it doesnt sound too obnoxious like most mustangs sound. Would love to hear it run. As a kid growing up 8n early 70's I was addicted to all the hot rodding magazines that covered all this racing and would remember just how awesome the Willys coupes looked with those tunnel rams protruding out the hoods.
As a painter, I've painted two 'candy' cars, and I won't be doing anymore. That process is very demanding and stressful to me. The paint and body on that car is beautiful!
This car represents most guys dream car… The color, the wheels. The engine wouldn’t be my first choice… I’m a blown Hemi Willys gasser fan But I’d rock this car just the way it is!
Amazing car, unfortunately the car doesn't represent the story/history like it would have done if it was still old school original, the story board is a must. Personally i would have had the wording put on the car, would have been more in line to tribute then
I just don't understand putting at least a hundred grand into a car to end up with something that's undrivable, doubtful this car will be driven twenty miles a year, let alone be raced.
And that is how to pronounce ';Willys'. Great story, great car, but a man named Bogan? You could drink for free in NZ & Aussie if your names was indeed, Bogan.
What's the point? Either restore it to it's original period race condition or just leave it "as found". Now it's just another stupid show car with no significance.👎
I have a 40 Ford coupe all steel. it was built to race in the early 70s but is now driven on the street by me. Big block 460 bored 30 over with many changes.
Beautiful car and color. So much nicer than the current tragic trend of boring murdered out cars
That thing is Awesome! Thanks for your dedication in continuing to share these stories that deserve to be told.
❤ just awesome to know this

Awesome history, truly amazing paint and body work!
There's no "history" left in the car itself.
As a fan of the old movie "Hot Rod" Id have to sand it down and spray can primer it to make it my dream car but I guess I could "live" with it the way it is.........😉👍 (I am kidding of course) Neat to see old movies of it....most guys are lucky to have even an old photo of their car

They should take that to some high profile shows like Detroit Autorama
Did they ever run against Stone Woods and Cook?
