Hi Claire, 😊 I was in the same situation as you just a few months ago. I'm a marine engineer, and the idea of working in something outside of my profession seemed unthinkable. But as you said in your video, being able to have a vision of what you want for your happiness and financial stability is key. I believe the time is now, because when you have a stable job, it's much harder to change it for something completely different. So, take this as an opportunity to change what your job is for a lifestyle that makes you happy. It might take you a few months to find something, sure, but the result will be peace of mind and enjoyment for many years to come. I've recently started my own bike ecommerce, and I love it. It makes me feel free because I'm my own boss. I set my own schedule, and I manage my time as I want. It allows me to travel and work remotely the way I want. And I believe that's where true freedom lies: feeling like you're not working, because you love what you do so much that it doesn't feel like an effort. Yes, there will be days when you have to put in extra effort, but it's not the same as working for someone else. You can specialize in anything you enjoy, and being skilled is enough - and you are very talented.👍🏻 You would be great as a videographer! People pay a lot for filming and editing events, for example. You'd also be amazing in any arts-related job. Try something new! You can always go back to what you were doing before if you don’t find something better, but trust me, you won't regret it. Sending you warm regards from Spain! Keep making these vlogs, I love them! 💖🏳️🌈👏🏻
thank u for taking the time to leave this thoughtful comment, honestly really helps and cheers me up. im definitely spending a lot of time reflecting on what i want to do next that would feel fulfilling and satisfying. I feel like im at a crossroads because my professional and educational background is super technical, but many of my interests/passions are on the creative side so there's not so much overlap. some part of me is too scared to dive all the way in with creative work! ah! i feel i can do everything, but maybe that's not true. we'll see how it turns out! being your own boss does sound super nice, im jealous of you for sure. i've been thinking about your comment and gonna try to really reflect on it!!! thank you!
Thank you so so much for sharing your thoughts about your job search - that´s exactly what I needed to hear I guess :) I hope that the job you´re envisioning is coming very soon to you!
Going through the same situation right now. Quit my job because I’ve realised that I’m stuck. And actually I could not be more happy about all free time that I have! Also after a couple of interviews I realised that I’m more qualified than I thought before 😂 Now I apply for senior roles and feel more confident about myself. Wish you luck and strength to find the right company for you!
hell yeah! the free time is a blessing and a curse. i really enjoy it. and same, im remembering so many little things i got experience with over time so kinda nice to reflect on. thank you so much for the nice comment :) imma keep applying
just wanted to say that i went through something similar earlier this year, got laid off (booo) and it shook my world tbh so i really admire how positive you are being about the situation and never lose hope
thank you for the thoughtful comment!! yeah i relate so much. it is super tough and of course i don't show all of my emotions on camera but there have been a lot of highs and lows. it is nice to always remember that this is a temporary situation and the only thing to do is keep trying! and congrats on ur job! :)
currently also dealing with unemployment sort of (I work in film and am only getting like one shift a week due to my show ending) and omggggggg it can be so easy to start spiraling about finances, routine etc. but honestly I feel like some of the best perspective shifts/ growth and learning can happen in these times like you said! Zooming out to see the bigger picture for the long run is exciting and actually having the time to pursue other creative projects is epic
really appreciate your vlogs! each vlog makes me anticipate the next. it feels very real and different each time. i look forward to seeing more refreshing new content
Took me 6 months of consistent applying to get a job. On top of that, once I got an offer, HR took 3 months to actually get it all approved. I’ve been happily employed for a week! Don’t give up!
Bro im a music artist definitly patience is the mastery over here and let me just send you a big hug and remember SOMETHING S COOKING ! Thats why we enjoy the present
What question/coding questions were asked. Also how did you prepare for coding round, I saw a little preview but if you can drop a link(notion maybe) of question that you attempted on leetcode fro python and SQL. Specially SQL.
Love love love seeing another lesbian incorporating distance running and weight lifting!! Lots of people say running kills gains but forget the heart is also a muscle that needs training for overall health. It's entirely possible to put on muscle while running long distances as long as you're fueling properly 😌
you're my comfort vlogger atm tbh. you got this, claire :)
that means so much to me. thank u!
