- Mont Rigaud is located about an hour and 15 minutes from Ottawa, or an hour from downtown Montreal. It becomes quite clear when you visit that it is an ideal mountain to learn to ski or snowboard due to the terrain available, which works with you rather than against you as is often found in many other mountains. Mont Rigaud takes it up a notch by providing trails that have constant pitch and slope to them so that you can settle into a rhythm and not have to fight to hold it the whole way down.
From a friendly atmosphere to the gentle slopes on which to learn, it is widely regarded as the Kindergarten of skiing in Quebec. As a skier progresses, the terrain continues to follow them with a great progression from novice to advanced.
Overall, Mont Rigaud is a safe and welcoming ski mountain, that offers something for everyone, with a focus on the beginner experience being safe and secure.

Such great childhood memories there-I didn’t learn to ski at that hill, but went many nights and improved my abilities and love for the sport!

This is my childhood hill I learned here with my school but now have moved on to bigger hills like Bromont it’s to small for me now but comeback every now and then for nostalgia
