How do you feel about ETH’s first mover advantage and value proposition? Do you think that larger deeper pockets prefer the No down time of ETH to SOL because a gas fee does not phase them one way or another?
Bitcoin has the first mover advantage. Not ETH.

Also no chain is perfect. Eth is slower yes compared to SOL but SOL works sometimes, ETH works all the time. I think both can co-exist.
Let's see how the Firedancer upgrade is. If SOL works all the time after that, then ETH is in trouble. If SOL still works sometimes then ETH has its place as the most secure/reliable chain.
can we equate high transaction fees as NOT Working . if we do then ETH will eventually be useless.

Does anyone have any insight on this mental state I am experiencing.
I have been loading my TSLA bag for the past 12months. I have over the bull case retire on Tesla bag, but not enough for the bear case. With Tesla finally popping I can’t help but feeling left out. I wanted to get so much more. So despite being on the train I still feel more let down. Been trying to reflect on this.
At the end of the day I should be happy with what I do have.

AS always great content. I hold both eth and SOL. BR and its team I am sure did DD on the ETH capability for BUIDL. I think stating it won't work (which you fundamentally imply) might be a bit of hubris and over-simplification.
Isn't it true that Vatalik is looking to change the Eth consensus model to millisecond latency by simplifying the steps to finality.

Appreciate your work James. However, eth has not abandoned scalability to L2s. It is just further down on the roadmap. This is where I agree with you: the world doesn’t wait around, Ethereum needs to move a lot faster than they are or else will be left behind.

I like these viewpoints If it was not for its limited supply I have the same theory on Bitcoin and its fundamental use case and TPS why the only crypto I own now is SOL and my other investments are just tesla and my 401k

But the question is, can SOL really scale, and what happens if it remains permanently unstable and still not fast enough to run everything on? Firedancer, correct me if I'm wrong, is just a more efficient validator client, and so how is it going to have as dramatic an effect on performance as claimed? Is the 1 million tps the same sort of marketing hype that pumped Cardano in the last cycle, the belief that the promised land is just around the corner? Eth, on the other hand, does have to do major battle with composability... fractured liquidity is a serious problem. But the plan has been to push activity to L2s for a long time, due to a belief that L1s will never achieve enough scale. It remains to be seen whether an L1 can scale enough... we will see over the next few years.

Which is why they had to add a layer two last week and pretend it wasn't a layer two.

You could be entirely correct. But for this cycle… SOL is going to give much better gains than ETH. After this cycle… we reset and re-evaluate.
Simply because technologies get better and cheaper over the years, people will be able to run the software with better hardware and that's how Solana will scale.

Competitors faster, implementations: rapid interactive development cycles can be very risky, bugs are frequently introduced, think Mozilla project which has twice gone to a ultra rapid rollout of updates, causing havoc for 3rd party developers and missing it on testing, this has already happened to Solans, you want to trust that? ETHvhas correctly taken a cautious rollout path and rightly so, one major slip up and a bug could wreck the project, as has already happened to SOL just everyone is forgetting it

but to answer a question you raised about wrapped ETH swap in metamask swap WETH to ETH in metamask (pay the fees :( and then bridge it using RhinoFi - that's one possible solution ...however if you can help me change liquid staked ETH (mETHx) to ETH please do tell... I have no idea how to do that

I think ETH is like LYCOS search engine that was invented in 1994 when Internet was new. LYCOS was very popular until a new guy called GOOGLE was invented 4 years later. ETH was invented in 2013 when crypto was new and SOL the new guy came in 2017, 4 years later and is starting to eat ETH lunch and will completely takeover in several years time like Google did with LYCOS and all other search engines. 🙂
