I don't think it matters if these are "officials" or not, if a mob of people come to your property in such an unprofessional capacity, without law enforcement serving a warrant signed by a judge, and try to physically break in or intimidate and threaten you, then they are criminal trespassers and should be treated as such. With such behaviour (especially revealing they are also stalking you online) they are clearly not acting within rational, civilized and legal constraints.

I would press charges for trespassing and trying to break and entering. They have absolutely no right to come onto your property. They are trying to bully you, makes my blood boil.🤬

I want to know what bars they go to, what churches they attend and what gives them the right to surround a solo woman in the woods stayin in a summer cabin. This is your partner's property.... legally yes? Why didn't call him on the phone before walking onto his property? They absolutely should not have laid hands on the structure and tried to open it with you inside. I'm never putting my off grid life on the internet.
It is BS for sure but this doesn't mean that they won't be back. Sometimes the gov. goons take a while while they conspire their plans. I have seen it happen.

SO... youtube is definitely pushing your content out there for ya......... maybe the town doesn't want any attention onto the region due to corruption? Or some other nefarious government crap? There is actually a simple and more thorough way to handle any paperwork they attempt to issue.

Ally, thank you for the update. I've already watched Kyle's update video too. I think I can speak for most if not all of us who watch your videos when I say that neither you or Kyle have ever given us any reason to think that you are mean spirited, disingenuous or inauthentic . It's truly awful what you both have been through but I'm glad it's been decided to not sell at least. Keep your chins up even though I know it's so hard sometimes. What town in Mass is this? These people need to be exposed and held accountable
From what I understand about the septic codes, first step is , if you are within 500 feet of water, you must first get a soil/erosion analysis. This also includes checking for run-off from access roads, which could contaminate fish spawning habitat. If you pass that, then you can get a building permit, which would also include an inspection on the septic system, which may require professional , licensed install . I'm sure your outhouse probably is far away from the creek, which is common sense. The issue with that may be the "grey area" of you living there full time or not. I think also you had mentioned the windows, which I think are a fire code issue. Did they think you weren't home, aggressively jiggling the door? Was your car parked in front? That is really scary , anyone with half a brain would at least beep their horn or call out when entering the property to avoid being shot. Having your tax ID number and address , they probably have your phone number also. WTF! I would call the Sherrif, not the cops , and explain that you have reached out to them but have heard nothing back yet. Spooky. Get that on record NOW.
Oh Allie you can tell that this is still very emotional for you. Not only with them showing up unannounced but having them say they watch your videos, is not only creeping but makes it worse that they chose to confront you when Kyle wasnt there. You have to put up trail cams to catch license plates and also many pointing in all direction toward and away from your house. The best 4K you can find to identify people, vehicles, and license plates to turn into the authorities.

I watch both you and Kyle’s videos and know that you don’t live their full time. Anyone else watching the videos would know your primary home was the apartment and as of this year the A frame. Stand your ground Ally and Kyle. It sounds like there was a number of illegal offenses made by these "officials". It's challenging to stay positive in a world with twits like them, but don't give them the satisfaction of getting down. What I’m unclear on is if these were “Towns People” from the nearest town, Why do they THINK that they have jurisdiction way outside of the town? They should only be able to make decisions INSIDE THE LIMITS of the town!!
Just a couple words of advice/wisdom. Don’t tell anybody that you do or don’t own a firearm. It’s NOBODYS business! Also if you are not living full time and complying with all of your jurisdictional law you owe no explanation. If they feel the need to settle it in court then that’s what they should do and you will win. Then you counter sue and win. Lastly FILM everything. If another encounter occurs FILM. The more evidence for you the better. I would be putting surveillance up even if only trail cams are feasible. And a dog never hurts! Good luck and live your life and don’t let others get in your way.

Ally, I know the north and south can be very different, but in the county if it’s the “town” people coming to you, surely as remote as you are you are not in the town limits, so they have ZERO input in your camp. The county/ parish/or what ever it may be would be the ones with input, but even then they cannot trespass. Good that you put the chain up!!! Maybe a deer camera strapped to a tree at the driveway may help also. Just a thought. I don’t want you or Kyle to give up the camp, it’s too magical!!
there are a lot of busybodies in New England. It's part of the culture. After many years, there is a strain of witch hunting mentality in many small-town New Englanders, and I'm sorry you had to experience this.
You must remember they are a lot of no goods in the world .Self protection is a must in this day and age. Please have some sort of protection. The goverment is so intrusive in everyones life . Taxes are unreal and always wanting more.

It is absolutely wrong and illegal for this current privileged generation to go around demanding and destroying the rights and privileges of people who work hard at trying to live a peaceful life. I would love a cabin in the woods also. However, envious and jealous outspoken people enjoy harassing descent folk to have their way.

That has to be very scary. I would sue those neighbors. No one can just try to gain access or board up your cabin. Sounds to me they are very jealous that you fixed up your camp.

Hope it all works out for you. We are only seeing your side of the story, but the land and all the work you've done has been such an admirable pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing it. I also live in the northern part of the country, but on the opposite side. We have beautiful woods and natural settings similar to your area. Sounds like our laws for building also apply there. We must include building permits to include a well and septic system for a structural home. Imagine if everyone who wanted to, built a beautiful cabin in the woods. What would they do with their human and environmental waste? Where would they be harvesting water and dumping their grey water? Risking the local environment with these impacts may be the reason for the disapproval of your neighbors and town. However, if they are really harassing you in the manner you describe, there is no excuse for their nasty behavior. Surely, they can act like adults and be open to working out some sort of agreement or compromise in your situation. Best wishes and Happy Holidays!
You dont need septic or electricity if your off grid? Septic tanks are worse, as they pump this into our waterways and oceans. Composting and incinerating is way better for the environment. Animals do it, so should we. The laws are made to keep us enslaved so that we have to PAY to live on this beautiful place called earth, that was given to us for FREE. please dont get caught up on laws that do not serve mankind. This is a wake up call for us to free ourselves & do better for the environment away from the systems currently in place.
The cabin has been there for years, long before Kyle bought it. He was working on the property for the former owner when he was 14. They don’t live there full time which they were accused of doing because some officials watched some UA-cam videos. Sorry but that’s not evidence and is only a fraction of their life. Their full time life is at their A frame not their off grid cabin.
As I said, wishing them well and hope they can resolve their issues.

Wow little girl, sounds like they were one step short of coming in with pitchforks! I live in Canada, but I'm sure that anyone representing council anywhere would be aware of the proper sequences that need to be followed. Coming in as a gang and bullying someone is not something that should be left unanswered. I wonder if other people in your district have experienced the same type of behaviour? The two of you have done so much work to get where you are, I would hate to see your discouraged at this point.
Ally, after this horrible incident, I went back to your and Kyle videos that could have triggered this trespassing; and I think I found a video from Kyle titled: “ we finally moved in the cabin!” Or something similar. This title must imperatively be changed asap as it constitutes a legal proof and admission that you live full time both there. Please do so without delay. Also, I think a dog, ready or not, is imperative for both of your protection, at the cabin and at your official home, but mostly for you when you are alone in the woods. A legal and official carry is not a bad idea either. You won’t t need to kill people, but you can respond to their threats appropriately. Don t be too nice. Life is not a picnic ! AS A SINGLE WOMEN IN A CABIN IN THE WOODS NEVER GO OUTSIDE TO TALK TO A STRANGER! EVER! You should talk through the door, especially since there was more than one. They could have easily done MUCH worse than gave you a verbal warning.
To other women and even men by themselves in the woods NEVER GO OUTSIDE to talk to a stranger because there may be many of them, they may have guns/weapons, they may want to do physical harm to you and you are possible hours away from police and medical help.

Edit: In regard to using a firearm, you are absolutely right. If they weren’t a deadly threat and you used/brandished it (even though they were trespassing), you probably would’ve been charged with murder/aggravated assault.
You are also right in that if you aren’t ready to take a life, don’t get a firearm. They are meant to cause great bodily harm, not to be used as a warning. They also take a good amount of training to be proficient with (especially pistols, which are most likely what you’d purchase).

Trail cams. You should think about a camera over both doors that record when the door opens and cuts off when it is shut.
Since you have no trespassing signs up, they can be hidden.

honey I want you to do this because I'm sure your property hasn't been posted you need to go down to Home Depot and get the signs that say private property no soliciting no trespassing no loitering old Defenders will be prosecuted Under full extent of the law. But you need to post your property I learned this a long time ago if you post a property and somebody violates your posting the local police will just pick people up you don't have to say anything they're violating the law if you don't post your property and those assholes come on your property well they have to harm you physically before you can do anything or your property that's number one number two you need to put up some good video surveillance the type that you can see people's faces and hear them because there's nothing better in court did having a video and audio and the third thing is you need to sit down by the fireplace with a nice glass of wine and chill out don't be pushed around one of the things I hate is when people are being pushed around by people or authorities it pisses me off and the other thing is the more you have of evidence of this type of thing video and other things the more you have to prosecute morons especially when you can put it on UA-cam the next day

Bottom line is that they are little tyrants and they are trespassing on your private property. Does Massachusetts have a "castle doctrine"? If you are on your property, you can have a firearm in your building. In Pennsylvania a person can transport a firearm w/o a licence. Hold the line. Don't sell. This is so scary, I know how threatening people can be when you are on your own and isolated like that. Truly disgusting behavior on their part-if they trespass again, I’d press charges even if that does make things messier. They’re harassing you and that is not okay!
Ally, I'm so sorry you went through this. So these people are mailing you documents AT YOUR HOME ADDRESS (different from the camp), while claiming that you live at the camp full time. I think these people haven't got a legal leg to stand on.

There will be a solution to this situation I am confident. You are handling it correctly. I would not recomend getting a firearm. My Dad, a WWII veteran told me do not get a gun unless you feel comfortable with the idea that you might kill someone. I never have and I don't and won't have a gun in my house. It is just not worth the chance of makign a mistake.
Being a lady who also spends time alone in nature, I sometimes carry a pew pew ;) after taking the safety class and getting a permit, I feel confident about using it only in the right times. You may look into this as well.
I would get a couple good breeds of dog just to help with safety first off as far as protection.😢
I hope these ‘officials’ have the backbone to contact you and apologize for their unorthodox approach to you at the cabin this summer knowing that you were alone there without Kyle. I also hope they contact Kyle as the owner, with you as his partner, to constructively discuss their concerns, so this issue can be concluded affably. No one should be threatened this way at their off grid camp. So glad you both are ok.
It would be nice if these people would own up to their mistake and apologize. How many people have off-the-grid cabins that spend months at a time with no issue up there? Feel for you girl and sorry had to go through such trauma. Wishing you a happier New Year to you both.

The bottom line is whatever these individuals "official" status may be the words to describe them would be DANGEROUS VIGILANTES. Plain and simple you were intentionally harassed and intimidated, that can't be legal. Outrageous, they didn't have the balls to come around when Kyle would be there, he's the owner of the property and they know that. You need to bring this to the Governor of the state. This is bullying and should not be tolerated. Go to the top and don't mess with these people. 😡
Keep your center Ally and Kyle. Hopefully, the town's officials realize their fault in their trespassing on your turf and will back off. Just be sure you have a lawyer document the occurrence and send them a letter to that effect. Know that you are in the right!!! Carry forward!!! AMEN!!! Not wanting to start anything, but I'm sure they were breaking the laws in most states/commonwealths that day. If they really watched all of your respective videos they'd have realized that you are not living there.

Hello Ally. Those officials are dirt bags. They abuse the power their given. Most likely just jealous of seeing two young people succeeding in life. I wish you and Kyle and your families a very Merry Christmas.
Just imagine this is probably not all those corrupt officials do. They probably go around creating mayhem in other parts of the town as well. (And get away with it - probably friends/relatives of/with the police.)
