The book version of Howl's Moving Castle (by Diana Wynne Jones) is just as delightful as the movie! Different from the movie, but so good in its own way!😁
Loved the journalling / book reviews in the b-roll🍃 I’m not enjoying Hell Bent as much as Ninth House at the minute & I agree that it’s not Dark Academia!
@7:30 Yes I get that 😄 ... it's like someone telling you just how tough they are... they usually aren't. It's the ones who just take action and surprise you that fit that description 🤣🤣
🌿 I was so desperate to plant something yesterday that I upcycled a plastic container to a mini greenhouse and a paper egg carton for seed pods. It may be about 4wks too early to start seeds but I figured as the same in life; not everyone is on the same schedule and if there is a drive to accomplish something even if it doesn’t make sense, DO IT! 🌱🌿
Recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying your vlogs. I’m in Australia and don’t recognise the area you are showing though - wherever you are, it is absolutely gorgeous, love all those old buildings ✨✨✨✨ ooh, just heard you say you are in Edinburgh, always wanted to go there so thank you sharing little snippets of that beautiful city.
omg not me discovering howls moving castle like 2 weeks ago as well. I had nostalgia for a film I’d never seen before and now I’m obsessed with studio ghibli 😊
Love seeing you go about your week, even if you're not talking about books. Yay to Howl's Moving Castle! It's so very beautiful. I promised myself I would finally read the book this year. Wishing you a lovely week, Ashleigh 🪴🪴🪴
Howl's Moving Castle is my FAVORITE Studio Ghibli movie! It's perfect on a cozy, rainy day with a cup of tea. I haven't read the book yet but it's on my TBR for this year. I'm so glad you've discovered it!
OMGGGGG THANK YOUUU yessss to the way Alex describes herself!!!!! It drove me absolutely bonkers! I just filmed a video review for hellbent and that was my main thing and I swear Noone is talking about it but it's so annoying to me!!!!
your videos are always so calming & comforting to watch!! 🍃🌱 i'm so glad you enjoyed howl's moving castle. i love the book as well; different but still so cozy & sweet. hope you'll be rid of the flare-up soon 💖
🌿 i love howls moving castle!!!!!! Such a good film and the aesthetic is just 👌🏻 i love listening to the soundtrack too it never fails to lift my mood and make my life feel a little more ghibli-esque. I've also heard the book is just as good! Its on my reading list this year. I also loved the plant interlude 😂
I am jealous of anyone who can keep plants lol! Mine always die! It's usually my own forgetfulness or because my cat won't leave them alone. All Studio Ghibli films give me that teary eyed sort of homesickness feeling...homesick & nostalgic feelings for people and places I've never been/met before. Me and my daughter watch them often, specifically Spirited Away, Ponyo, and My Neighbor Totoro. I also really love The Cat Returns and Kiki's Delivery Service, but Howl's Moving Castle is an all-time favorite.
🌱may your new baby plants live a long life! unfortunately my glorious monstera also died from a most painful death this winter 😢 i also looove trailing plants, i have a pothos that's quite easy to maintain. i've had it for 2 years now and it's grown sooo much! but it has been through... a lot 😂 and survived! many times 😂
Thank you for the reminder to do plant care. I have two plants. One has died. The other is a long suffering ZZ plant that is hanging on for dear life. It hasn't gotten water since December 🤣I think I'm gonna buy some more fake plants....
🪴🪴Always here lovely, Always a joy to spend time with you in your cosy flat and sight seeing around Edinburgh. What was the name of the witchy/Pagan shop you went into? it looked amazing and so right up my witchy street. x
I love Howl's Moving Castle, both the movie and the book (and the two sequels too). I bought a bunch of house plants last year and a few of mine didn't make it through the winter either. I'm terrible with succulents and all but two of mine died. I might do some reading about them and replace a few in the spring. My other plants seem to be doing pretty well though (even the two my cat chewed on). It's amazing how much a few small plants improve my mood and make my home more cozy. 🪴
I had a good time with both Ninth House and Hell Bent. I read that Leigh Bardugo has plans for five books in this series.... Not sure how I feel about that. What were the other two books that you were journaling about?
I’m not sure that Ninth House is dark academia either…it takes place on a campus but she never goes to class lol. There’s no academia! Then again, “dark academia” is always applied in an after-market way and IMO it doesn’t mean anything.
I love Ninth House, but I don't consider it dark academia. It is set at Yale but it doesn't have an academic aspect which I require for a book to be dark academia. And I have plenty of academic reads that aren't set at a university or on school grounds. That being said, I don't really think academia has a place in the story of Ninth House, so I am not really complaining about the fact that it isn't dark academia.
Great to see you back in another video, I can’t wait to pick up Hell Bent and I eagerly await your thoughts on it…I say two words from what I have heard about the book…Glow Stick 🫣 and I leave it there
New plants 🪴 🥰🌱
The opening of this vlog is beautiful. I love this piano piece, too!! Great use of sensuality. 😁

I couldn’t agree more!!! I love them both equally!!! 🤗 Especially the audiobook version! It’s amazing!!
☘Loved this vlog! Perfect for making my days.
There's something just so comforting about your videos 🍃🍃
Aw thank you! I’m glad 🥰

I fell in love with the main theme tune ages ago so it was about time I watched it!

🌿🪴 so sick of winter so I enjoy seeing some signs of life at lower altitudes than mine.
🪴 💕 What a cozy way to start my Sunday! I was so excited to see that you’ll be going on Becca’s Italy trip (I’m also going!)! Have a great week ☺️
Plants definitely brings good energy to a home 😄 Love your vlogs with our without books 😁😍

Good luck with your new plants 🌿🌵
I think I’ll need it 😂
@@AFrolicThroughFiction LoL hopefully they will thrive.
i've recently been getting such strong FOMO about howl's moving castle so i might finally pick it up next month lol
I feel like I need to read the book now after crying over the film ahaha

My monsters died too, it’s devastating 😭 I’ve tried pothos a few times since they’re always quoted to be indestructible…they are not 😂
🌱🌱🌱
definitely agree ninth house isn't dark academia!!! alex isn't corrupted by learning or knowledge, so i just classify it as low fantasy 🌱
Yes!! This!!
Argh Spider Mites are the worst. My Ivy also got them, and it was a nightmare, I couldn't get it under control 😫
This was a lovely little catch up ♡ 🪴

It’s called The Wyrd Shop! Undoubtedly one of my favourite shops here 🫶🏻
I love your vlogs! Where do you get those little book cover prints? I like this journaling idea... 🌵
I just screenshot them from goodreads and print them out! 🤎

I just revived the 1 plant I have left.

The like count was on 666 before I liked it, I’m so sorry 😭
😂😂 love that ahaha
Girl AC is amazing but if you want to have a life NEVER download Disney Dreamlight Valley… I don’t know who I am anymore!😂
Your vlogs - no matter how many books are in them - always bring me "plenty" of joy!! 🪴 🤭
🥹 thank you!
