- ReIndev is a mod that reimagines Minecraft's history, taking us back to the days of beta, but adding in all sorts of features that we never got, as well as bringing back some content from the modern game that never existed back then! It's a lot like playing Minecraft in an alternate timeline where it's development history was different, which in my opinion... Is really really cool!! So in this video I decided I would play it blind and explore the world. Enjoy :D

If you liked this mod, you should check out the mod “Better Than Adventure” for 1.7.3. It has a very similar “alternate timeline Minecraft” vibe.
One of the best Minecraft mods ever imo
the only difference really is reindev feels more closely tied to old minecraft where as BTA really does what feels better than what feels right
IMO the best mod in this vein is really Musketeer: All For One. Rather than trying to go backwards it just looked at the old philosophy of the game (like, REALLY old, pre-Nether old) and re-worked how pretty much everything works in the modern game to fit that philosophy. It's extracting all the stuff we alpha / beta heads argue about and pushing forward rather than bothering with any nostalgia bait.
I really like BtA from what I tried of it but then an underground moss slowly started consuming all of the stone in my world and it gave me a panic attack so I stopped

She returned to her own timeline *BY* erasing the ReIndev timeline, creating an entirely *NEW* Timeline where Squiddo *did* overdose on moldy cigarettes/crumpets, meaning that she dies( 5:35 ), *seemingly* creating no Paradox?!(but we all *know* It's never *that* easy...)
But THEN(according to the grandfather paradox) wouldn't stopping Professor Sqiddo's Lab from exploding cause Squiddo to *not* time-travel, meaning that she never time-travels back to change the past, meaning she never time-travels to kill her past self(yet another paradox, smh Squiddo(and also don't forget that that mean she never traumatized lil' baby Mojang, so I *guess* she sloved *one* paradox... BY CREATING A NEW ONE??! >:(
So now, in terms of overhauls, we have:

Lilypad QA for Alpha
Better than Adventure for Beta
Pretty much any modpack for Modern
Place your bets, folks! Which Minecraft era is gonna get a massive overhaul based on continuing its design philosophy next? Will it be Classic? Preclassic? Maybe even Infdev?
Indev+, Classic+, Minecraft Diverge, Authentic Adventure, Infdev+, 1.8.X (my favorite, by BlueStaggo)
reindev is for beta 1.7.3
I'd consider putting Musketeer: All for One on this list because it's specifically a modern pack designed to continue the philosophy of Alpha. Yeah, it takes quite a bit a way (the Nether and End are just straight-up gone) but in it's place the primary goal is to have semi-intuitive but very Minecrafty ways of doing everything you can in the modern game, encouraging people to actually build infrastructure for convenience rather than convenience being handed out by "progression".

I played ReIndev a lot recently, there's so many things that are awesome!
Like do you know there's a floating islands dimension that doesn't need a portal but is at 500 blocks height?
Yes you can freaking build up to more than y 500!
Though be careful, what was in my chests disappeared when I did this. It'll be fixed in the next update, crates don't have this issue.
Also you can put flowers on dirt you used a hoe on and they might combine giving you some new flowers!
You can make ice cream!
There's obsidian tools you can find in dungeons with crazy durability.
Combine steel tools with a bucket of lava to have them smelt items instantly!
Plus new types of wood (fir is beautiful).
There's so many features it's crazy!
P.S : don't trust the compass, it only indicates towards the last bed you slept, even you destroy it.

Squiddo created a pardox: the self descrut button was destoried giving no reason to go back into the past but, that would erease all the events including that one, meaning the button still exists and you get it. The Grandfather pardox
