To give a student a piece they can learn and play with confidence and feeling is the greatest gift a teacher can bestow on a student. I can't even imagine how many people have been lifted up a whole level by this wonderful lesson. Well done.
Lifted up! You said it…..the ladies! Shwing!🎉 I named three children after this guy
Agreed! This was Spanish Romance for me.
This video greatly increased my love for classical guitar-thanks for sharing!
Thank You.
As an older beginner with hands that don’t work as good as they once did you have given me hope and motivation.
I love your style of teaching and your enthusiasm is infectious.
Wonderful, most inspiring, beautifully explained and all expressed in a patient and interesting way .Thankyou .
Just lovely. This is all about technique! Thank you for providing a beautiful easy song for newbie finger pickers. I'm excited about this one.
Even tomorrow is my General knowledge exam with 8 chapters that i haven't started yet i am learning this song from your tutorial ❤ You're an amazing teacher
Thank you 😊
My first classical piece, that haunting melody is addictive! Thank you
Thanks so much for your gentle way of teaching this piece.
I started playing guitar a month ago and I thought I'd give this one a try. I'm having so much fun learning it, thanks for the lesson!!
I love this piece 🎉
This is one of my favourite early pieces to teach; its a real gem for so many reasons. Thank you for posting this.
Indeed, it provides the necessary confidence in the beginner that he is actually able to do something. so empowering
Unbelievable I feel so confident that I can learn this and I am very amateur your teaching style is amazing
Amazing. Been learning for 6 months and can’t play a single song. Your video tutorial is great and your teaching style is very cool, calm and collected. You give me hope that i will be able to have something to show for all the time Ive put in thus far. I’m being pushed to play current music and I don’t like it. Please do more lessons like this for us noobs.
Don’t be discouraged, guitar is a very difficult instrument to play, you will get it soon enough, keep practicing
I play for 40 years and still dont know it either...so pls do not feel bad at all. It took me bout 9 months to learn to play guitar cause i learn on a borrow guitar from my aunt...only able to use twice a week at her front porch an hour at the time bout 40 yrs later...here i m replying to u...be bless...caiou

thanks for the lesson. I just got my first classical guitar and will play this piece until I have it down. again thianks.
I'm leaning this as my first song and I'm really happy!! I'm almost done just struggling with the C major left hand position. Thank you so much for the lesson!
Just a thank you, your teaching is excellent and its a fantastic piece
This is fantastic! Great teaching - so clear 👏🏼
Great lesson ! Thank you !
If this is how you always teach (in videos at least) then good on you. So easy to follow and your explanations are perfect. Great video.
Superb lesson! Clear and concise! Well done, Ariel!
Thank you for this.❤️
Great lesson, very good explanation!
Thank you so much for a wonderful lesson! A suggestion: helps when you play the full song in the start
Real easy to follow and will be part of my daily routine.
Thank you.
I've never felt so relaxed and comfortable while learning, almost like magic. Wonderful piece. Subscribed❤
Probably the best tutorial I have seen. Thank you so much.
i still have problems putting the two together, when get of the melody and i have to put my hands that b chord, but it's getting better. i feel some weird obligation to report my progress back to you. slow and steady wins the race
This has made my day learning this. Thank you.
Excellent lesson and song selection. Thanks for sharing!
Yes I just started playing it Amazing
So gorgeous! ❤ thank you for sharing! On the 2nd day of learning guitar it is a bit complex yet so inspiring indeed 🎼.wonder how it would feel if dancing Argentine tango /neovals / criollo vals to it ...
I can’t wait to learn this song. What is the brand and guitar model you’re playing it on? It sure sounds fantastic.
Wow! This is really amazing! I don't know how to express my gratitude! Thank you so much!
I absolutely love your tutorial! You are an awesome teacher ! I’m still a beginner in guitar, you teach and inspire ! Thank you
I just got a classical guitar today and was looking for something to learn, THANK YOU!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏😁😁😁😁😁😁
Thanks, made a difference.
So well presented and what a wonderful piece. Thank you
Thanks!!! God bless!!
Merci beaucoup excellent.
I used to teach guitar. Once you get fundamentals of tuning and holding, plucking and picking, kids are pretty antsy and ready to actually play music. I always start with something simple in EM or Em because of the ease of making those scales incredibly easy for beginners.
Lovely, can’t wait to get my acoustic
Shout out to you I just learned my 1st classic song
Beautiful...you are a fantastic player and teacher....thanks for posting...I subscribed!
Wow!!! My first classic piece ever!!!.... here teacher... 🍎
what you're saying in the introduction is SO true. I have been obsessed with Claire De Lune forever and practiced it a ton despite being a metal guitar player. i ended up buying a classical after yeeears and the most progress i've made is from CDL and Gnossiene... because i just love playing them and never get bored of them
I learned this in college years ago but forgot part B. Thank you for posting! I'm so glad I found it! Yes, you are 💯 that it's an addictive tune. Now I can finish playing it!
Wonderful breakdown. Beautiful instruction. Highly recommended for beginners. What a blessing to find. Thank you so much for introducing this piece and providing such a valuable tutorial. Cheers!
Please do more easy ones like this
Hey Nick - have you tried this one? It’s just a little harder than the Vals but a great study that helped me a lot when I was learning. All the best 🙏

It’s not an easy pc to play well, lol
Very Cool Thanks !
wow you are such a great teacher. Thank you.
Inspiring
damn It looked hard now I’m playing it constantly I can’t stop playing it lol thanks for the tutorial man
Thanks!
Fantastic.
That’s exactly what we were are hoping for :)
@@AltGuitarSchool No problem 😁 can you please tutorial romanza I heard it’s pretty easy I can’t really read tabs properly but u guys put in the chords so it made it very easy for me 😁
Lovely
Theres this classical guitar song im really struggling to find. The most noticeable part of the song, was this evil sounding descending finger plucking riff (I think it was finger plucking), it kinda sounded like devils intervals. I cant find it anywhere. I heard it on classic fm and it really stood out to me. And then after the descending riff ended, it transitioned back to the base of the song. It was like the whole song was based around that descending riff tho, as that part happened a lot during the song.
Thanks you. So Good
thanks for an excellent lesson! Best wishes from Perth Western Australia.
I'm just starting to learn classical guitar, and I can't wait to learn this
Loved it. Thank you so much for sharing this 🎉
Starting the B-section on "Am" sounds a bit odd to my ear and also I don´t quite agree (yet) with the C-baseline - althougt the parts sounds great when you play them. So I just wish you had played the whole song, in order to sort of make things come together. Might give it another try tomorrow, though. I´m sure it´s a great tune to play, once you get the hang of it.
He definitely should have played the whole piece at the start uninterrupted, so students had a reference to go back to. Or played it at the end. He can play it well, but I don't think this is a great way to teach it. There are plenty of complete versions on UA-cam though. He doesn't mention a few key points about this piece.
True
Great teaching. How many BPM is the original speed?
Could you tell me what size and make of guitar you use please?
I know it won't sound the same as when you play it but we all need a goal and it sounds so beautiful!
amazing, thank you!
I FUCKEN LOVE NYLON STRING CLASSICAL GUITRS BABY
Hi, very good explaining.. could you tell me the exact model of the guitar? Thanks.
8:39
Nice lesson! One quibble: it's CaLa-Tayud not CaTa-Layud.
Great lesson and choice of song. Can I ask what guitar your using. ?
Thank you @andrewhenderson9474, its a flamenco guitar Vicente Sanchis 33.
What a great video! thanks for putting this together, I will be practicing it quite a bit! I have a question about your guitar, what is the scale? Currently I have a 650 scale guitar and I've been thinking about moving to a 630.
I have only played 6-7 months I love Bartolome Galatayud “Val’s in E minor.” I’m stuck on one spot😢 On the very first fret you use “I &M” fingers to play both 3&2. No strings. And they are B and D both are on the 2ed string. How can we play both notes on same string at same time?
I’m sure I am over looking something very simple
Thank you
For the Vals in E minor is the tuning on the guitar standard?
what kind of classical guitar is this? it seems slightly smaller than average? i have smaller hands so maybe this is what I’m looking for?
Hi John
It’s a flamenco guitar - so yes slightly smaller than most classical guitars!
Well spotted :)
@@AltGuitarSchool i can’t even say I knew those were 2 different things coming from an electric background. learn something new everyday. And great playing!
I know this video has been up for a while but hopefully you will reply: What guitar are you using? Is it full size or 3/4?
Lon Chaney plays guitar?
Its to hard for me, i just got my clasical guitar i need yo find really beginer lesson
Yay. Following the methodology* used in the upload you won't have improved your musicianship or understanding of this piece one iota, but you'll be in the "breakthrough" music club. Don't forget kids, to also swipe your arm along the neck over the strings between every phrase, whilst making soulful grimaces with your face.
* Yes kids! well spotted! it IS just like your "Paint By Numbers" set!.
This is a beginner tutorial to teach people basic melody. I don't know what you were expecting if not a "paint by number set"
@@AtiTan-gp9xf Maybe not expecting, but what I certainly hoping for might have been a competent guitar lesson.
So I'll make my viewpoint clearer.
In my view it not a beginner tutorial, nor a music lesson, it's another painful monkey-see, monkey-do set of placement instructions for fingers on a guitar. Largely divorced from anything musical and from qualifying as being a half decent guitar lesson.
It grossly oversells itself, typical of many such "lessons" on this platform. Unfortunately, the platform is rife with these time wasters.
Not recommended for those with a realistic desire to learn and improve.
He does miss many key things about this piece. I don't know how you could learn to play it properly from this. He doesn't even have an uninterrupted version to refer to. It's still a grade 2 piece and requires a certain foundation to play it properly.
You look like the big bad wolf from wolf among us
Where’s the tab
YOO, you looks like dream
Meant to say: Starting the B-section on B.....
That’s a 3/4 guitar or are u just huge lol
Volume is way too low
This is fantastic! Great teaching - so clear 👏🏼
