Yes... and no. In the story, Ted killed Benny, Gorrister, and Ellen, whereas Ellen killed Nimdok. While Ted succeeded in saving the rest of the humans from their earthly damnation, he did so at a great price to himself. The other four were safe at last.

That's the exact opposite, he has to 10 to 100 times more than he would as a human.
Plus, maybe AM can prepare itself so the earth doesnt get destroyed by it
