The Valco FX KGB is designed to be an adaptable fuzz, taking on a variety of instruments with pre-shaping abilities, selectable circuit variations and a clean blend for multi-layered fuzztones. When using The input impedance of any fuzz literally sets the tone for the rest of the signal path. With the KGB’s variable impedance selector, you can dial in anything between warm vintage tones all the way to modern 1Meg input for wider a frequency response and hard hitting attack and compression. A wide variety of Fuzz tones are accessed via the Voice selector, much like the Valco Bloodbuzz. Voice set to Off disables the tone circuit for extra output and a classic 2 knob Bender fuzz, Voice 1 engages a Muff-like 1Khz scoop and a tone circuit. Voice 2 pushes the mids the other way for extra grind like a 3-knob Bender and Voice 3 (Gated) starts open and uncompressed but gradually sputters out as the fuzz is increased for truly unexpected velcro fuzz.
This brings us to the helpful Fuzz/Dry blend slider, which can retain your guitar’s attack when extreme gated tones are selected or preserve the crucial low end in bass, synth or drum machines. To adapt with K (keys, synths), G (guitar) and B (bass), the KGB Fuzz provides a selectable line or instrument input level toggle, in addition to an independent Dry thru output that is pre-impedance selector. The Valco FX line is expanding quickly and these handmade effects from Canada are built to last with high quality components and a unique feature set. Check out this new brand at eastwoodguitars.com

You know you are in for a treat when a pedal looks like it belongs in the cockpit of a jet :)
The cockpit?!? What is it???
Its super refreshing to see more pedal brands implement clean blends for their fuzzes. After getting a Left Hand Wrath, I questioned why no one else would include a dry blend. Some of us like to play open maj7 chords. And now we can without losing clarity.
That was such a cool track! It's so simple and at first listen, nothing too crazy, but upon further evaluation, there' so much character and color. Well written, your phrasing, riffs and such are just so unique and interesting. Probably comes from the wide variety of genres you listen to and play! You are just so well-rounded. Love the harmonies at the end too. Hats off, keep up the good work, man. You'll always be the best pedal demoer in my eyes! Mike Hermans is a close second.
Wow - we've come a Long way from the Big Muff. I really like this one. Sustain for days!!! Andy just: "Killing It" as usual. Nice demo brother.
Those selector switches made my wallet run for cover this morning. These new Valco pedals are killing it. Have an awesome weekend Mr Martin 😎
Yep I'm struggling to exist. 264 quid though wondering if they'll show up on reverb in a couple years. But I want it now. I got a Sputnik iii which is insane but it only takes the slightest nudge to turn from sweet spot to hideous. This doesn't seem to have any unusable sounds and a bit easier to find your favourites again. Think valco r on to one here. And it's built like a a tank ten points on looks alone.
I want a dry blend slider on every dirt pedal now. Dayum.
That bass sound is amazing
I literally JUST bought a bloodbuzz after watching your old demo, I kinda want this one now too. That blend fader seems to add a hefty amount of usability.
Andy, you're a mad man
i love the dry out function. parallel fuzz is a killer sound
Hot Dayum! That sounds gooood!!
A new brand? Damn, they're goin strong with this
Best demos in the business.Andy's always playing interesting stuff that matches the pedals he's demoing
Dry blend isn't just for bass, I love it!
Very true! It really shines in the very last example with other pedals👊
Very cool intro tune 👍
Best looking pedal I've seen!
Yep she's definitely a head turner And a head smasher if you ever need to wrap an iron round someone's head! I wish I could have heard this pedal before I saw it. Now I can't tell if it really sounds good or I just want it cos it looks sweet! Certainly seems pretty versatile. Dry out is a good selling point could certainly lead to some crazy routing setup
@@eyesintheskies Interesting... I'm very thin on Fuzzes, having only the EHX Big Muff Nano, Attack Decay and the Magnetic Effects Double Feature. I did by the beautiful LEM modulation pedal partially for looks, but it's not stereo.
@@funkyfurballs1078interesting selection you got there. Not heard of magnetic devices before, unique sounding fuzz. I know the attack decay was a very sought after pedal before reissue I personally have always recorded to tape so have had enough of reverse effect. Though had some happy accidents putting the tape in the wrong way round🤣
I recently acquired the spaceman sputnik iii fuzz which is awesome but am thinking of selling it for one of these bad boys. It's got a million sweet spots but the knobs r so interactive if only takes the slightest nudge to turn it into chaos my younger self would've loved it but not been able to find the same sound twice is doing my head in a bit. Seems like it would be easier with this maybe it's not as outthere but certainly easier to wrap your head around but still a lot of variety Another looker of a pedal is the collision devices black hole symmetry sexy as! if I didn't already have individual effects to put together a similar sound this would definitely be on my list.
My top tips for a stereo pedal would be the line6 dl4 used to gig with that a boss hyper fuzz and the channel changer on my amp sometimes simple is best. Don't know what you plug into but if you haven't got a decent tube amp you can have all the pedals in the world and be missing the best bit! Now the following is top secret so keep it under your hat. I loved my dl4 and it took a helluva of a beating over the years but it finally gave up the ghost was gonna just replace it out right. But thought about the Strymon timeline and although an upgrade everyone plays one. Check out the korg sdd3000 pedal awesome modulated delays, pitched delays, reverse, tape, analog, kosmic and of course the legendary rack version it's based on and it's got a great preamp. Every bit as good as a Strymon and less common place. If your funds can't stretch that far you can't go wrong with the dl4 workhorse I actually really miss it's rythmic delay and quick n easy no nonsense looper. But never selling the korg that's a lifer! Happy hunting but I warn ya once you get hooked in to a serious pedal collection the tendency is to take it to its limits!
@@eyesintheskies Thanks for all the info... but the warning is too late! Already hooked and need serious help! lol... I have some pedals to sell!
That's one handsome guitar, Andy. The unholy union of a Telecaster and a candied apple, but with a German carve. It's like Roger Rossmeisl's Covid fever-dream!
The Twangmeister is a stunner for sure! Thanks!
That’s a handsome jazzmaster
I've never heard Andy play Jazz...
Would like to see the schematic for this! Sounds really good!
hot damn!
💪
Don't wanna become one of those players with ten different fuzzes that can't play for toffee but this would be my third I honestly wish they'd stop making such damn sexy pedals. This one will sell on looks alone. Just when you thing you've got everything covered they go an do this to me. Anyone else's pedal collection in double figures? Think I need professional help I just keep telling myself it's not like it's crack but reckon one day you'll see me on the streets pushing a shopping trolley full of pedals. Seriously it's where it's headed folks.
"That gated cheese setting" is a phrase that only makes sense to guitar players.
“ but first here’s my Velcro tone”. 🤙
Felt a similar type of GAS when they released the Bloodbuzz. Perhaps this feeling is not leaving and it’s time to give in?
We definitely recommend giving in! ;)
What's the orange guitar? Love it.
Hi Andy, great demo! Does it operate on a standard boss style 9v power supply? I can’t seem to find the info on the website or the manual. Thanks!
Jesse - It can operate on standard 9v power supply and also 9v battery
Was this based on the Lovetone Big Cheese circuit?
That was my immediate impression as well. It also had a rotary switch for selecting different interactions with a tone control.
it certainly looks like it, even the enclosure is the same. The different tone settings with the rotary knob do the same things as the big cheese.
The valco blood buzz certainly was but it's been long over due have you seen the price of love tone pedals now. I nearly bought there ring stinger for 200 15 years ago go for a grand plus now. Scarcity certainly ups value. I'm currently in a quandary if it's worth spending 500 on a moogerfooger low pass. Massive price hike once they were discontinued but they hold there value just wondering if a) it's worth it b) if I'll be able to part with it when hard times come again. Any opinions on that anyone own one.
Really like this, but I really dislike the form factor, and I I think the slider would be better as an expression pedal. Or at least an option for one.
I say "good gawdamn." Anyway, I don't need one, I've got a Behringer RBG, it's Supreme!
Their page doesn't add dimensions which kills me to know if it could fit it on my pedalboard and replace my octafuzz
It's a big pedal definitely sounds huge!
Look at the bit towards the end where it's next to the boss delay that should tell you all you need to know
Tony - Thanks for pointing that out! We've now added dimensions to the website and here they are as well: 7.09" length X 5.24" width X 3.43" height (180mm X 133mm X 87 mm)
what guitar amp are you using for this demo?
Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue, Hamstead Soundworks 1x12 Cab
Says in the description.
What's the intro tune?
It’s an original but definitely has a Helmet influence!
@@AndyDemos Nice. I especially like the part where the riff goes up a major 3rd(?) at the very end.
@@AndyDemos I was going to say “I’m digging the Helmet vibe.” Great demo as always, Andy!
@@AndyDemos Reminded me a bit of Khruangbin's song Maria También, at least the hooky riff
The guitar at the beginning sounds like ass.... I like it!
It can get pretty squishy! I liked to mix that sound with an overdrive via the clean blend👍🏻
