Glad you’re here. My name is Ayah. I’m a 21-year-old Moroccan storyteller with a compulsive urge to dig stories from the past and time-travel: join me as I take you through the life stories of the people who made Moroccan History, for better…or for worse. I also have a podcast, « LAND OF MANKIND » (link in bio, available on all platforms: Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Spotify…) with longer formats, as well as an Instagram account @ayahchoukri . DISCLAIMER:
This video aims to share and celebrate Moroccan history in a storytelling format. I am not a professional historian nor a student of history; I don’t claim to be anything more than a storyteller. My goal is to make my country’s history accessible and engaging for a broad audience, Moroccan and non-Moroccan alike. In each video, I strive to rely on credible, well-researched sources, which I analyze and cross-reference to provide a balanced narrative. It’s important to note that North African history, particularly Moroccan history, is shaped by complex narratives influenced by historical dialogues between states, making context and perspective essential. Please consider this in viewing, as historical accounts often reflect diverse interpretations, but I hope my work inspires others to delve deeper into this our history.

I'm thrilled that we Moroccans finally have someone creating educational content to teach young people about our rich history. What's even more amazing is that it's in English, making it accessible to anyone from any country who is interested in our history but doesn't speak Arabic.
Could you please make a video about the time of the Almoravids and Almohads and how they ruled Andalusia?

Nice video Ayah! For future uploads, please consider adding English subtitles throughout the video. This would help non-Arabic speakers better follow along, especially with terms you pronounce exactly as in Arabic like “العباسيين” (the Abbasids), “الأمويين” (the Umayyads), and “الأدارسة” (the Idrisids).

Just came across this channel and I think this is a beautiful video that reflects a lot from a similar story of abd al-rahman the umayyad. Especially since he’s half amazighi I think it would be a great video concept to explore!

Amazigh* not amazighi and no he was not Amazigh. He was arap from quraysh

    • @zainsalhani4705
      @zainsalhani4705 2 місяці тому

@ I understand the confusion, his father was of the Umayyad family and his mother was amazigh. Also amazighi is how you say amazigh in Arabic. Same way I would say it’s not Arap it’s Arab but it’s a difference of linguistic backgrounds so it’s the same.

@@zainsalhani4705 Sorry to break it to you but Amazigh is not an ar*bic word. Also in arapic they would say mazighi and not amazighi

However, it is important to note that while the Idrisid dynasty was among the earliest Moroccan Islamic dynasties, it was not the first. The Nekor dynasty holds the distinction of being the first Islamic dynasty in the entire Maghreb, along with Sijilmassa, both of which are situated in Morocco.

Many Amazigh tribes at the time mistakenly claimed a connection to the Prophet. Some claimed to have met him, while others asserted a blood relationship, among other things.
The Awraba were no exception. A similar story would repeat with the Kutama tribe a century later when they established the Fatimid dynasty.

Idris is a fictional character, idris is Atlas. Atlas was a mythological deity. Hence we call this region of the African continent “Atlantis”
    Atlas Mountains
    Atlantic Ocean
History is His-story, we get programmed to beLIEve in this kind of narratives.
You can’t verify the characters that lived 1500 years ago.
They can change his-story in 3 generations.

    1. Refugee idris never founded Morocco nor were they the forst islamic dynasty of Morocco. Morocco didn’t even exist back then 2. They’re called Awraben not awraba. Imeknasen, not meknassa. Iberghwaten, not barghwata. Ighmaren, not ghomara. Stop arabizing everything. I advise you not to use wikipedia as a source. Also stop glorifying shia.

It'll be helpful to point out what's actually false and what's the truth. Moroccan history is written from countless viewpoints. There's always going to be a narrative that upset one side or the other.
