Nice video man! I really like the sound system in my v60 momentum. Another level of audio! You really are the volvo-senpai, Love your vids and keep it up!
Not sure the language on the screen but when he showed his settings at 2:25 he is what in English is clean. To be on his custom setting of bass and sub he would need to be in the furthest right setting of custom
Heloo Kris! Your video did not have the presentation of two surround sound options and a basic graphic equalizer available in Harman / Kardon Sound System
I went from the Audiomax Premium sound system in the 2001 S60 to this Harmon/Kardon system in the 2019 S60. The system in the 2001 sounded overall better and more powerful although it was the top of the line back then where this HK system is only the mid-grade system. The weirdest thing about this new HK system is how extreme the treble is. I spent many days tweaking the EQ and and playing with the natural, clear, warm, custom settings. The best setting I've found that sounds the most natural is with the warm setting, treble backed off a notch and bass and sub up about 2 notches or so. The fatiguing brightness of the system is pretty much gone now. I'm hoping there's a hidden graphic eq somewhere like there was in the 2001. The ability to individual adjust multiple frequency bands will make a bigger difference.
I know the BW has an EQ, but not sure of the HK. I thought the primary difference between the HK and BW (aside from entirely different hardware, obviously) was the Gothenburg Orchestra filter. Does it not have an EQ at all, just "Treble, Mid, Bass" sliders?
@@ryanshannon6963 Thankfully the HK system does have a multi-band graphic eq. It's found by navigating through the main settings menu (the little gear symbol at the top left of the screen).
The amplifier is specked at 600 watts on the new Volvo models, meaning 2019 and newer, for reference My 2017 V60 R Design came with 12 speakers and a 650 watts amplifier
Really like your vids! But some words of criticism....a microphone you are using for these audio tests is just terrible. I don't think these videos serves justice to sound systems you're testing, it's just loud flat noise with hardly any bass. If you are planning to do more of these sound system testings I recommend you invest on good Binaural microphone, to capture same experience that you hear. Those binaural mics are awesome! Cheers from Finland! ✌
even the base 220 watt sound is really good. the speakers give the bass all around you and still can shake your eardrums from it and can go through all the frequencies fine without the subwoofer
I didn't know spotify had a lossless sound option. They've been saying they were going to do that in the U.S. for years but it's never come to fruition. I had the BW system in my S90 and I compared same tracks from Spotify, Amazon Prime Music (Ultra HD quality tracks) as well as Tidal MQA tracks (again, same songs) Utada Hikaru: "Face My Fears (English version)", "Nijikan Dake no Vacance", and "Flavor of Life (Ballad)". I also listened to some Rage Against the Machine. While there's a slight difference in clarity and transparency between Amazon Ultra HD and Tidal MQA, Spotify was so screeching, comparatively, I immediately knew I would cancel my Spotify subscription and was deciding between Amazon or Tidal.
@@KrisRifa well, obviously there are some differences in the suspension :) ground clearance difference, consequently is more capable off road, feels differently etc. Down/up hill assist performance evaluation would be great. Engine/Haldex protection plates ? Cross Country cars are for something different than just cruising around a town. Thanks for responding to my requests!
Cezar L you did? Haven’t heard any system that offers more value than B&W in Volvo’s. And this must be the first time I’ve ever heard anybody not impressed with it 😂
Cezar L I don’t doubt that system is impressive, but it cost twice as much as B&W (so not just a little more pricey) 😂😂 Again, for the price nothing beats B&W 👌
I disagree the Harman Kardon system in BMWs have no bass, a bit more clarity but no bass whatsoever with less volume. And logic 7 sucks, quantum logic is much better.
I would kill myself if I listened to electronic music so loud. It's just noise + bass. I miss instruments in music, songs of that kind are made just for 1 season.

Do you know why? Is the difference noticable?
@@SuperMrminecraftdude I don’t know why; a 50 watt difference is negligible in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
@@Mirror1973 it is probably a software thing
You know it is just a rating right? Most likely it is the same. Just a different amp brand that is rated differently

600 watts for Harman Kardon Premium Sound, which also adds a sub. Agree that the B&W is in a whole different class.
Do you not use the EQ? It is more pricse than what you used. I have a 2015.5 Volvo XC70 with the HK and it's very warm.
FYI, the Amplifier will not run at full power when the car is not on
What is that white dot in the middle?
Screen protector from dealership..

If u google spotify lossless audio there is no indication that spotify has losless audio.
same as in XC40 ?
Can you have a test on the Meridian Sound System in Land Rover or Range Rover
Fantastic but....it is a Cross country so a request from a fan of this channel: please review cross country related features !
myslecinaczej this stereo has no Cross Country related features...
@@KrisRifa yes! I know! And as it is a Cross Contry car, please give us some review with focus on the related tech. Thanks! Cheers!
myslecinaczej this car has no more tech than a normal V60, so please check out those videos for more details 😊

It has plastic wheel cladding and it's an inch or so higher than a standard V60......the end. 😏😏

I think it is 600 watt
610w for s60/v60
I got B&W in my XC90 and I wouldn't say it's that impressing whatsoever... Expected much more for that money.

Reccomend to try Burmester 3D in new Cayenne… However a bit more pricey :(

Best thing I've ever heard. Simply amazing fidelity and the 1000w subwoofer is so damn nice.

Different implementations...

Same audio system in my v60. Not satisfied. Tweeter of mid quality. Subw ok, poor mids. Miss B&W. Do not choose Harman & Kardon if you are into Audio!
Is it better than the standard tho because B&W is not available in the xc40
The think about it vs the other competitors it beats out the bose, meridian 340 watts version, beats out the h/k in the bmw.
To be honest, this audio system is terrible. Shame on Volvo, expensive cars with low level audio systems...
