CB Radio is making a comeback. Dig out those old CB radios and get talking! - Наука та технологія
Thank you for sharing! Now all I need to do is find a friend with a properly tuned radio
Good luck
Wow I never thought of that to use my phone to do the 1000 hz tone. Thank you Andy, you show a old dog a new trick to tune my CB SSB radio
Happy to help! It's really not a pro ay but it gets you out of a pinch. I don't have that type of equipment so I have to figue out things like a "Ways & Means" committee would. lol. Thanks for supporting my channel.
If you don't have a second radio you can use a web sdr nearby.
That's right... You get the idea. There is a slight delay with SDR but it would work.
Your perspective is refreshing , informative.with excellent clarity. Nice job Andy.
Thank you so much my dear friend. I just try and bring simplicity to this complex world. In the final analysis, Love conquers all. Trust in that. I am a follower and believer of Jesus Christ. His promises are sincere and offered to all. But not all will heed His call. May you be ever blessed and overjoyed in His Word. Amen
Another great video my friend thanks for sharing 73’s
Thanks David. I was doing a videogate this evening but I was unable to capture any activity. Maybe some day soon perhaps. Thanks for the nice comment. We'll chat soon!
@@Tobinindustrial yes that would be awesome
@@davidjason1116 I wholeheartedly agree.
That procedure works real good almost right on the money. 👍 Thanks....
Pretty good in a pinch I must say. Thanks for watching.
Nice video
Thank you Blow Torch. I appreciate your comment.
I thought I was sub'd to your channel... Just checked... I am sub'd now!
Just make sure your clafier knob is straight up and down you want to align you am usb lsb even so when you use am usb lsb thay all sound even so you will be dead center its what i do then there will be no reason to slide
Great point my friend. Thanks.
I have been doing this since smartphones could download apps, years now. I still use it now if i dont want to.mess around hooking up my 2 tone generator. Although the phone app i use does single and 2 tone.
At least there are some good things the cell phone technology has brought us. On the downside, the new cell phone tower systems are more powerful in their tracking abilities but it has made cell phone reception less reliable.
@@Tobinindustrial The app i use is called TestTone
Great info Andy, I have an iIntek 5500 that's way out on SSB, on 27.555 I'm down to 27.554 on the clarifier, I'm actually at the point of maybe the digital readout needs adjusting.
Thanks for sharing. That is an interesting issue.
If your gonna align a ssb unit you will need a 2 killuhurtz test tone for propper ajust
Thanks for the information.
I have to do this in reverse, my HR2510 is slightly off in upper and lower side band. Thanks so much for the video as it confirms what I was thinking. Do you happen to know what pots in the President adjust frequency?
I am not sure hat pots you'll need to adjust. i'd have to get my radios out of storage and check. I believe the circuit board is labelled though. If you google president 2510 srvice manual, you should find lots of information online. As I always suggest, if you are not so sure what you atre doing, have a technician look at it. I have to do my own work because there are no technicians anywhere near me.
Great tip thanks
It's a bit rough around the edges, but it gets a radio in the ball park for good DXing. Thank you for your comment. Happy Easter to you and yours.
@@Tobinindustrial thanks.i have an Alan 9001 I recently purchased and I'm told on lsb they have to turn there clarifier down to the7:00 position to dial me in and I found a scamatic of board lay out and I am going to try your method.thanks mutch from Canada.☺️
Thanks for the advice.... would you know the pot numbers in a 1977 General Electric...
I have no idea. if you google search the model of the radio and lookr "PDF" files you may find it. I searched for "1970 GE SSB radio" and found no pertinent results. The model number, if available, would be what you need to search for.
Make do with what you have, excellent job on the video.
Thank you so much Kirk. I appreciate your support.
Hi great video the hotter the radio the better i uses a hair drier it gives u time to work on it
Yes, I did that too but the wife thinks I am gonna burn out her hair dryer. Thanks for the comment Byron.

Esa es una gran noticia mi amigo. Gracias por ver mi video. Dios te bendiga.
Do you know you can build you a 50 watt dummy load like I did
That would be very interesting Harvey....
You also can use a shortwave that has lsb and usb 73
Thank you
Cheap dummy load 194 wedge bulb soldered into pl259!
I actually have one but it is made with an old car bulb (12 volts) Thanks for reminding me. I am going to check out the LED dummy load design.
