I think Tommy absolutely has the right take on Kelly, regardless of how he left he built a stable foundation here, and we are primed for success because of it
He is right on about Kelly. Great answer. The culture is strong enough that the program lost 3 recruits and one assistant coach through the whole process. But there is definitely another step to take. The team is #3 to #6 year over year. We want to be #1. The program feels revitalized because the new leadership team feels like the shot in the arm to take it.

I wish notre dame would change their ways a lil bit. If you wanna be number 1 then you gotta have the best team, to get the best team you have yo be able to recruit better than Alabama, Oklahoma, clemson etc etc.

No one would've had a problem with Kelly leaving if he had the courage to come out and say it. Instead he did it behind the scenes without warning hoping to destroy ND football. Which he didn't and the school did a good job reacting to it and only lost 3 recruits and 1 coach. I was done with Kelly anyways, he gotten lazy at ND and rarely went out and recruited players.
Rees is growing on me, but now way he should have been the HC. He has to show he can recruit with the best in the country before landed a HC job at a top 25 school

I am glad to hear all the positive comments by Tommy Rees about Jack Coan and I also wish that Jack Coan could play at ND more than one year

I think he confused Ok St with OU. Ok St never took part in the BCS. They have only won the Big 12 once.

Coach Rees knows to never burn a bridge. But the way Kelly left AND tried to take the assistant coaches was utterly bush league.
The way Kelly left is cheap. Debases all the good he did at ND.

I love the idea that he's willing to make adjustments. You didn't see that with BK really.
