Here's the hidden reason why this territorial dispute could spark the first war in South America in nearly 30 years.

In socialism/communism, when you run out of other people's money you have to go find more outside of your own country.
So much for being self-reliant.
These sorts of wars that distract from internal problems happen in capitalist countries too...
WHAAAAT!!? A government that is absolutely terrible at administration!!? No way!!
🤔 Kind of sounds like Venezuela is in the same sort of shape as Iraq was back in 1990 just before it invaded Kuwait.
How oddly appropriate Maduro looks like a Saddam body double or twin brother.
I don't think the US will do much beyond a verbal condemnation. The big question will be how the UK and Brazil react.
Brazil is already getting ready. Not sure about the UK
As a brazilian, some troops, equipaments and military armored car was sent to Roraima (a state with border with Venezuela and Guyana), because the Venezuela's troops has to pass by Roraima roads to arrive in Guyana. The brazilian government and the brazilian people don't want this war.
Probably I made some mistakes in my text, but I think you gonna still understand
@@obiwankenobi5769they sent an aircraft carrier.
Why is it lately I feel like I’m at the start of a classic Tom Clancy novel
Lmao true. End war is coming only difference is there isnt a european fedaration kicking ass.
Kinda blows the mind when they have so much natural resources and access to trade routes they could easily be a global economic powerhouse yet they're imploding.
Look at africa, same thing plus over 1.4 trillion in foreign aid and still the continent is barely skating by. For comparison: Senegal and Singapore got their independence at around the same time (1960 and 1959) and were in a similiar economic situation. Now one is one of the richest countries in the world, the other is one of the poorest. All thanks to socialism.
Low IQ and low impulse control... 🤷🏻♂️
Proof that Socialism don’t work!!!!:/
@@MrNorker77trade is legal and China is rich and slavery is illegal and the people who have interest in senegal or the direct operation is pushing people to poor
The British need to send one of their carriers South. The RN have destroyed the ambitions of South American dictators who want to go on external adventures before.
If Brazil, the UK or the US intervenes, which is very well possible, Venezuala is done.
If there's a big oil field up for grabs, you bet the US will send some freedom down there. It's not like we've been involved in any other conflicts recently, either. Oh, wait.
Guyana's army cannot stop Venezuela, the only hope for them is to get help from USA
@@marcosoliveira7112 The Royal Navy should send one of it's carriers South so Venezuela doesn't go through with it's silly ideas. One QE Class Carrier will make short work of the Venezuelan Air Force And Navy. Then mess up the Army rather well.
@@marcosoliveira7112Is there really any reason for the US to get involved?
Either way, we can expect many, many refugees. All heading to the U.S.A.👎👎
These videos are awesome, thanks and keep up the great work! 👏
Thank you so much this 3 minute video helped me write a 9 minute speech 🥰
Colombia just got out of 70 years of Civil War, now our neighbor wants to invade?! This could jeopardize an already fragile peace agreement with the Rebels forces.
Guyana, not Colombia. You are looking at the wrong border.
@dat581 I know, my certain is the involvement that the former rebels will have on the invasion Guyana! Colombia has the most Miltary Combatant population in the WORLD! Colombians are known worldwide for being hired as assassins! Colombians invented guerrilla warfare, and when it comes to fighting in the jungle no one beats the Colombians! Former Guerrilla groups are having a hard time adjusting to civilian life and many are being hunted for their crimes. Imagine just a border away Venezuela or Guyana hiring Colombians to fight in their War! Rebels will take up Arm to fight for Venezuela whom Colombia still has issues with, Colombia and Venezuela are always fighting, now with Venezuela calling for an invasion of Guyana, the former Rebels will come to either aid Venezuela or Guyana making the peace agreement between The Colombia Government and Rebel Forces so much harder! The invasion of Guyana could spark another Civil War in Colombia, tension are already running high, and I know for a fact that Colombians Rebels will play a part in the invasion! I fear what effects the Invasion of Guyana will have on my people! Colombians will come to aid and it will be War all over again for the Colombian people, my people!
Exactly what the Argentinian Junta did with the falklands and what the Zimbabwean and now South African government is doing with their white populations. Should Britain get involved on the side of Guyana
The US response to this has been completely incompetent. Treating this referendum as if it was valid is idiotic. Correct response: "Go ahead. Make my day."
We are too broke and busy to care!!!!!:/
@@sgt_slobber.7628Odd, considering we find plenty to send to Israel's forever war and plenty to "thwart the designs of Russia". Most of the things that broke Great Britain, our politicians are happy to throw money at. But nothing to guarantee peace on our side of the world.
This, the russia Ukraine war, the Armenian Azejabajian crisis, the Israel - palestine war, chinese tensions and north korea preparing for war. Is WWIII on the brink
Behind this is China and Russia
Oil. Oil. Money. They have to have a scapegoat. Especially when it's rich with oil. And gold.
Do you know what Venezuealan's used for light before candles?
Lightbulbs.
It's just like Argentina and the Falklands. Argentine economy was crashing, so Galtieri thought he could just walk into the Falklands. Man, he was in for a shock. The same will probably happen in Venezuela.
Hey Nick,
Always like your videos! And this one you failed to mention a main reason… Have you checked into how much oil Guyana is pumping?
He did mention that.
He didn't state a volume of oil, however, he did mention the offshore oil reserves near the disputed land. Also, no mention of whether any of that oil is currently being extracted.
Powder Keg that's already lit.
Maybe the UK could lend Guyana a few SAS units.
Damn
Something that is not being pursued for long does not mean it is forgotten. Truth should be ever triumphant, late tha never. For Venezuela, this is their land and now seems like a good time to right the wrongs of the past.
Amen
They wont.
So what are the global options?
I don't think they'll do it
This economic model is the standard bearer for all of S. America. Argentina is right behind and is way less corrupt
Just like Galtieri in Argentina and the Falklands.
I honestly don’t believe they have the resources: the disputed border is covered with jungles and mountains, there are no roads that go through (it’s actually faster go around, through Brazil). Not to mention that Venezuela barely has food for its troops.
I can see they trying a small amphibious attack or sieging Guiana’s capital with a naval blockade. However, we know how in shambles their navy is, and it wouldn’t be too hard for a larger power to project power in the region to dissuade the Venezuelans to try anything through sea.
If Brazil does that, and they don't want Venezuela to seize Guyana's offshore oil fields and rigs, they have to invest money and military resources into ensuring Guyana's security in the medium to long term.
At least until Guyana can afford to defend itself, or gain some deterrence capability.
Save yourself from foolish that was displayed on the Russian in Venezuela 2016
Bribes are notĥng new
You ONLY forgot to tell the big role we play on the inflation conflict Venezuela has.... Sneaky sneaky!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾💪🏽✌🏽
Sadly not unexpected
Beard Wednesday!
I did not even know this was a real thing. I truly believed there was no way this could happen.
Maybe the US could back Guyana, help them invade Venezuela, then over-throw the murderous socialist regime, and bring democracy back to Venezuela. That would be a good thing. America could help them get their oil industry back up and running for a sweatheart deal on their oil!
Really ironic how Maduro who whines day and night about "american imperialism" was this 🤏 close to invade Guyana once it was known it had oil.
Hay 486, its not oil Venezuela wants, but they are jelicous for the economic sucess of Guyana 66% GDP pa where as venezuela -30% below 0
I have family in South America and thus is the reason why I keep track of the majority of their news sources.
Brazil, on many occasions, has vowed to invade Venezuela IF the war starts with Guyana.
Thus, putting Venezuela's pledge for war, as that countries possible downfall. Because Brazil's military is, at least, 60% larger, better equipped, and with better training.
Regardless if fighting breaks out: North America, China, and the EU should stay out of this conflict. They already have caused too many problems around the world.
Problem is Lula is also a socialist. I'm not inclined to believe he'd stand in Maduro's way, unless he has something to gain, politically.
@@skaruts I'm brazilian, Lula and Maduro are really friends, but Lula already said that he doesn't support Venezuela invasion, troops, equipaments and armored cars already was sent to Roraima (a state with border with Venezuela and Guyana), because venezuela troops has to pass by Roraima roads to arrive in Guyana
Lula does not want interference from the United States and the United Kingdom in this conflict, because it would be bad for our political sovereignty in South America
Socialists everywhere: "if we only has more time or taxes, socialism would have worked"
Yeah but VE didn't have anyone from the VE to represent them in the trial
“Anti-Imperialists” at it again
Yeah... Brazil will never allow such a war, specialy since their ally (Guyana) is a primary exporter of fossil fuel.
Sad To Say ' yet Venezuela Will Lose The War Not Because Of Britain " CUBA doesn't represent any form South America diplomacy by fully being Africa Peninsula Continent Economically supported * Which means choices have to be made in Morocco Algeria And Egypt ;
If Trump was prez, Venezuela wouldn't be acting up.
I would love to see Guyana back to where it belongs, but if that means suporting the actions of our corrupt regime then i can't just stand for it. Guayana Esequiba is precious, but the people and the country itself should never be forgotten no matter the circumstances.
I wanna point too that actually there was an attempt during the time Guyana got independence with the 1966 Geneva Agreement, which declared the territory cannot be used to benefit any of the sides. Guyana broke this with sending companies to extract oil, which gave our government to revive the claim (along with the reasons you mentioned).
Nonetheless I wanna thank you for talking about this topic with a brief but easy explanation. Your videos are pretty cool.
Thats what Milei is for....to head Americas new proxy
Did usa sanctions at the very least played some bit of the roll in Venezuela collapsing economy ?
Sanctions are not a valid excuse for mismanagement. And socialists were never known for being competent at running an economy.
This democracy.
Still want to be a democracy and not a Republic?
I'd rather have Christian theocracy. What good are Republics when all they do it fall into theater and corruption.
Socialism always destroy countries that insiste in this failure track.
